Yeah for sure. Than Ill also get an auto turret to kill the pigs, plus an auto pork sausage factory. but during the current lack of money... I think its not bad.
It’s a good idea to tie the door back and do a few nights of pre-feed to get them used to going in and out, then you will have a better chance at getting them to push through the door once you untie it. I had a trap like this in New Zealand but they refused to go inside, so I set the door on a rope tied to a dead goat carcass, which worked well after a pre-feed. Good luck, hope you catch a few.
How wide does the door need to be we built one haven't had a hog go in yet had some little ones but the got out threw the fence it has 4inch square holes
Nice, but i wont be too effective, the reason is because all the little ones will get out, the bottom, at least 4 rows need to be 2 inches You should catch some big ones, try a mix of corn, strawberry soda, 2 boxes of strawberry jello - or spoiled milk
Craig Pardue yes, it works. I wish I would have put it in a more traffic area. And it was a little taller. I have setup a trip wire a few times with even better results.
The panels have a smaller gap at the bottom to keep the little pigs in. It obviously wont catch everything, but worked great for me and I had everything laying around.
Guys like you have the smarts to solve problems and get'er done. We don't have hogs in Wyoming, but this makes me smile.
Set-up looked good. Let us know when the trap fills up.
BACON is one of the major food groups
Should probably get custom panels that have tighter grids at the bottom to prevent the small ones from escaping.

The best luck was with the door opened and connected to a trip wire. It worked much better like that.
cooool set up..
How many panels did you use?
I think it was 8. just trapped a 200lb sow a week ago
How wide does the door need to be we built one haven't had a hog go in yet had some little ones but the got out threw the fence it has 4inch square holes
Im pretty sure I made the opening about 2ft wide. I ended up having to pull the fence open and run a trip wire to trap them in.
Can you give a diagram with measurements please
Does it work though?
Let’s see how many you caught. I have my doubts it will work, knowing a thing or two about feral hogs.
caught quite a few. but had to move the trap after that. they would never get close again.
I made the one like two C I had to put barbwire on top

The hogs got caught many times with the setup. even the small ones. plus if the little ones escape, you shoot their asses while they flee.
only issue I see is that the small piglets will be able to get through the panel openings
They can, but the panels were free and they do have smaller openings at the bottom.
Cool design I would have liked to seen that in action.
It worked good twice, then needed to be moved. hogs are smart
Was it effective? Numerous catch? We want the result.
Yes but only twice. the hogs are smart and avoid it after that
so did it work or not?
It worked fine. Caught 6 at once including some 20lb piglets. I ended up setting up a trip wire for it.
Did the trap work? Thanks for demonstrating the setup

nice 4 wheeler
The piglets will just walk out this fence. Not the proper type of panels used.
