I find such joy watching your videos Art and Bri, especially when the children are in them ! Sadly, I can not have children but I do teach sign language to babies so I am blessed with that and watching all of you together with Wilder makes my heart swell ! There is so much love in your home, so much so that you make all of us watching feel that love. Thank you for blessing all of us with these videos and sharing your family with us. Some people do not believe in miracles, and I can't understand that. All they would have to do is watch your videos and see Wilder, the most beautiful miracle ever ! And not just Wilder, but ALL the Art and Bri nuggets !!!! May your days be filled with many blessings !

I have been following you from your first video. I absolutely love everything you have done on the homestead. I can understand how and why you feel rich. Do you ever go back and watch some of the early videos when you were just dreaming about the animals you would love to have one day? And the fences? And the garden? You watch one of the earlier videos and then you watch this one and you definitely can say that with patience and hard work and sacrifice dreams do come true. I am truly happy for all your wealth and abundance ❤️❤️❤️

I planted nasturtiums in with my zucchini this year after i read they help deter zuke beetles. i always try to plant flowers in with my veggies too. thank you! you reminded me i have a bag of sunflower seeds someplace, that i bought when i was buying my cover crop seeds. i find it amazing how long babies will sleep during the day, which is great for getting things done but why can’t they do that
at night? such a cute baby! ❤️

Homesteading makes me rich too. I don't do the flowers, I have a bed full of Herbs. Plan to share the extra this year as Gifts. I am not rich by any means, but ever thing I harvest makes me feel like I have the richest life ever. Very tasteful filming the baby nursing. Some people are so freaked out by it. I also had home birth 4 out of 5 children. The youngest born in hospital was the one that gave me to most trouble sick most of the time. Can't say anything about the two being related. I would have had him at home, but was calling it quits for the babies. Great video thanks.

Hey guys your place is looking great :-) from experience here in Australia - corn is better than sunflowers for shading cool weather crops - sunflowers are allelopathic and stunt the growth of most competitors ... tried them with Broccoli ... I got some leaves for steaming ... not much else 😂. In between the corn most crops seemed to produce quite well once the cool weather arrived and the corn was gone ... and the old corn leaves and stems were amazing mulch.

You hit the nail on the head, Bri. Its taken me a long time to recognize that its ok to include things that make me smile beyond the practical vege's- I can be practical to a fault. Your insight helps me to remember that I can and SHOULD include beautiful things, thing s that make me smile in amidst the practical, but yummy and in their own way annual vegetables. Oh, and to give myself permission to experiment and fail. Thanks, guys.

When doing earthen raised beds, pull extra soil up along the border edge to create a mound around the whole bed, with the planting area roughly 3" lower than the mound. Plant your flowers in this border. Tamp the outside slope of the bed with the back of a flat shovel. When rains come, the planted area will collect rain water that can't run off, thanks to your mound. The flowers help hold the mound, the mound prevents run off and rivulets eroding the sides of the bed. You still have your flowers for the companion benefit, pollinators and beauty, without sacrificing growing space for veggies.
In fall mulch only your raised beds. This gives more mulch to the beds, where you want/need humus, organic matter, nutrition, and not to your walk paths. Weed only tall weeds from the walk paths. Low growing, matting type weeds are what you want to leave behind. In time only the durable ie; will withstand being walked on, will remain. This ground cover keeps down tall weeds, and conserves moisture. Try to plan your garden so your in place, raised beds can be rotationally planted year to year.

I am not afraid to fail, I spent time sowing carrot seeds in a flour and water slurry on toilet paper this year, Making my DIY seed tapes, IT WAS AN EPIC FAILURE! They did not germinate! So I tested another way putting them in a corn starch slurry and piping them in like cake icing, another epic FAILURE! So I took 2 packages of seeds and sprinkled them in the box where I want them, and I will just be thinning if they come up! The idea was to not have to thin them out. Thanks for sharing guys!

Good Evening Art and Bri what i do on my Allotment here in England is at the end of the season add about a 4/6 inch deep layer of well composted horse or cow manure to my raised beds and just leave it until the following spring time and just plant straight through it.The compost will have fed your soil and also make it alot harder for weed seeds to germinate so should be less work for you all !!! Hope this helps a little see you again soon

That is why it is so important to train the children to help out and I was so glad to see that example of how to handle a complaining young one. Some parents I see just yell. Parenting time is all about those broken up times, never getting a job fully done, unless you break it up into small pieces, and consider it a win to get one part done...you are doing a great job! That was just a beautiful video & 13 minutes, yeah! Love, love, love your children, they all have such individual characters, yet all work as a team when needs be. Great job you two in bringing them up. Bri you are so ambitious for your gardens, that's a great way to be. If you overshoot, then what is achieved will be a greater blessing. Well thank you both again for just glorious video of your family & farm. Have a blessed & happy Memorial day & may we not forget the men & women who gave their lives to protect us.

Yes...you are filled, overflowing with riches my dear. And...thank you for sharing your joy filled life, though I know you all have your struggles, you have shined some of your joy over here in my house from your videos & I know all your followers agree. I start my mornings reading the news; then when I'm praying tearfully over bad news...I come here for my joy & thanksgiving knowing that there are still young people raising their beautiful little children with grace, manners, goodness & love. Thank you darling for giving this old lady some hope that there are still good people tilling God's land & giving back love.

So glad you are able to get your garden in. Mine is a work in progress as well. For some reason I'm a little slow and it's not because I have a newborn and 4 other kids. It's just been a funny spring.

I hear you so much on the "stopping" when the kids need stuff thing. I'm a single mom and out here on my homestead and I cannot even describe how it is immensely frustrating to have to stop when I'm really in the swing of things. It does get better, though, which is nice. But I guess it's always all about baby steps and making progress here and there when you can steal moments to be productive.

I love your channel. Seeing what all you are doing. I also watch Justin Rhodes and have learned a lot from all of you. I have 5 pots of herbs planted on my porch and 2 avocodo pits too that have rooted. My dream of a homestead of my own has went out the window due too bad health, so I get my homestead fix from watching you all on youtube. LOL Keep the vlogs coming. Your little family is beautiful.
