Delighted to share a recording of the most beloved “Arpeggione” Sonata by Franz Schubert. I recorded this beautiful piece of work for my debut album, BRAVA, released through Summit Records in 2000.
When I first heard Yo-Yo Ma's recording of this piece while preparing for my graduate degree recital at the Yale School of Music, I instantly fell in love with it! I was SO inspired by the beautiful melodies, that I had to play it...no matter how difficult it was to play it on the clarinet.
It took many hours of creative practicing but ANYTHING is possible with passion, authenticity, and drive...

It was an incredible honor to record my debut album BRAVA with the incomparable producer, Joanna Nickrenz and legendary recording engineer, Marc Aubort. They are 6 time Grammy Award winners and together have released close to 1000 classical albums and have recorded for numerous labels and classical icons such as Alfred Brendal, Lenord Slatkin, Gerard Schwarz, Giora Feidman, David Shifrin, Andre Watts and many more.
Upon the release of BRAVA, KDFC Classical Radio Station of San Francisco included it in their list of "Top 30 under 30". BRAVA was also chosen as "CD of the Week" in Fine Radio Station in South Africa and was played in numerous radio stations around the world.

Congratulations on this fine performance of this beautiful, difficult piece. Also congratulations for playing it in the original key. I played this piece years ago for my master's recital ar CalArts in an arrangement by my teacher, Richard Stoltzman. He transposed it down to G minor, making it a bit easier technically on Bb clarinet. He recorded that arrangement, also years ago. I had an LP of it, but I don't think it was ever released on CD. One of my projects was to orchestrate the accompaniment, which I started but unfortunately I never finished. The piano part almost cries out to be orchestrated. Perhaps this will inspire me to finish it. Thanks again for a wonderful performance!
