It’s about a fallen star. Everyone loves you when your young and beautiful but as soon as you get old and not as desirable, your forgotten. So you try things to make yourself look younger but end up falling down the hole of pills and alcohol. Really a mature subject for a song by 20 yr olds. But they are film buffs and love all the cinematic concepts of old movies, etc. I just saw an interview with their mom and they didn’t have a tv until they were middle/high school. They read, played outside, made their own movies and listened to the old records of their grandparents and parents. This is the sound they know and grew up with.
I read somewhere that Josh got the idea for this song from the old movie " Valley of the Dolls". There's a live version of this song when they were on the Jimmy Fallon show. They blew the roof off the place! Loved the reaction!
Their name: Someone mentioned having to cut wood for an elderly woman in their community, Gretna Van Fleet. They needed a name as they had a show coming up and thought that sounded cool. They dropped the “N” in Gretna to make it easier to say and spell. She ended up going to one of their shows and gave them her blessing to use the name.
YES! It was their old drummer, Kyle (before Danny)who said that. Now, every once in a while, local news will do interviews with her. She's a lovely lady, respect
Love your reviews. I hope you find a day to just listen to their music. I highly recommend it. I put on their music in the morning and play disc after disc throughout the day & on repeat. I start with their 1st ep then follow in order up to their new one. You wont want to skip a song. Sometimes I hit repeat on a song just because it hits right in that moment. Their songs are more than just listening, its feeling the music too. Some songs stop me in my tracks & I need to belt it out with Josh or play my air guitar, piano, or drums. Also I highly recommend finding a video of their live performances or full concerts. I love hearing them perform live. (I hope you discover their fun personalities too.) My favorite time listening to them is in my backyard, incense burning, a cold drink and a day to work on my art projects. It's my happy place. Their music is healing for me, like a blanket of warmth that feeds my soul. I truly love this band.❤ So happy you've discovered them too.
I think the abrupt stop represents Hollywood slamming the door in an older movie star (woman) face. I think after Josh sings, you could use a little work...that Josh is screaming on behalf of the actress and her frustration.
Hi, some of my faves are, Heat Above, Broken Bells, Black Smoke Rising, Safari Song, Flower Power, but everything the produce is awesome. Check out Crown Lands, a two-man band from Oshawa Canada, they are amazing!!

From Frankenmuth Michigan
She was a musician in her time. She knows music. She said she didn't think the name would stick. LoL
This guy has been my favorite new Rock voice in at least 20 years. Great pick, great reaction!
20?? Who are you? Mrs. Kiszka?
This is one of their hardest songs and I love it. The best of their older stuff. Love this band so much.
Listen the canadian band Crown Lands. Is a mix of Rush with Led Zeppelin. They are amazing too. They opened the show Greta Van Fleet. ❤ Rio-Brazil
As soon as the vocal started I thought, “Four years ago? Sounds like forty!”

When this song (and that solo) came out is when this band took over my life 😂
Yes, that's really them standing on top of the rock structures!

Hi Josh! Loved your reactions. And loved this band. Is so Led Zeppelin. 😂 More Greta Van Fleet, please. ❤ Rio-Brazil

You can pick any song that they've ever recorded and love it. I haven't found one yet that doesn't touch me.
Fantastic band. 👍🏼👍🏼
The hooded figures are representing starlets who are trying to climb the Hollywood ladder to the A list

I think it's about Marilyn Monroe
To me it’s basically like a guy saying to a girl who thinks she’s just the best and guy saying you’re not all that so get over yourself 😂😂
