Thanks Evan! I remember being a bit perplexed learning this initially so i hope it helps anyone in a similar situation. Cheers, gotta love a bit of slayer!
Thanks for watching! When I'm talking it's just the camera mic itself (I use a dji pocket 2) When it's the music, I record w the Camera going, then using a video editor, sync the footage w music timing wise. Hope that answers your question.
Thank you so much for this video! I recently got a Bad Cat Cougar 50 head for a steal and I almost fried it, you really saved my ass with this one, dude \m/
Ah Brilliant thanks for letting me know it helped you out! This is why I made the video, I found it confusing myself at the start and knowing its helping out others is fantastic.
I use logic but my question is I know I can use a plugin like acetype to load in an IR but how do I turn off the amp head in the plugin to make sure it’s just using my guitar amp head?
Hi, it'll depend on each individual plugin but they should have an off/on switch on the amplifier graphic. Eg for Neural plug-ins there'll be an switch on the face of the Amp you can switch off.
Fantastic video! So basically with this method one could practice at low volumes using a big tube amp right? Do you know if it always has to go through a DAW or if it would work for example with a Neural DSP standalone plugin (turning of their amp head section but using their cab section + effects)?
Thanks for watching! Yes absolutely, you can play at low volume. Regarding the Neural Dsp plugin question, I haven't tried 🤔. It quite possibly could if you turn the amp section part off..though I'm just guessing.
@@mikemitchell7529 Thanks for your reply! So since I sent the message, I ended up buying a Marshall SC20H and a loadbox and indeed it works very well with the Neural DSP Plini standalone plugin! The only thing that doesn't work great are the effects that would normally go in front of the amp (e.g. boost pedal). But the delay and reverb included in the plugin work great with this setup.
@ripperthecrooks6428 Yes, you're correct. You'd need a reamp box. That way you can record a D.I then send it back through the amp once you've found a tone you like. Something I don't have I'm afraid
@@Driven2Beats For this example I plugged the Amp into the load box, load box into the interface. Then I used an IR response in my DAW. I didn't do any re Amping, ie I got the tone I liked before recording anything, then hit record knowing I can't change any Amp settings later. I'd have to buy a Reamp box for that. Hope that helps clear it up :)
@mikemitchell7529 yeah okay but like if you double track you're gonna probably have to edit the takes, so you need a clean DI to edit and then reamp it anyways right?
Please can you help,I have Nux Mg 30 multi effects processor and my audio interface is Focurite Scarlett Solo 3rd Gen...Is it ok to conenct the LMono point or R point of the output section of Mg 30 using a guitar cable to the Focurite Solo while another guitar cable is connected from the Input point of the Mg 30 to my guitar??I have tried though and it sounds muddy or experiencing delays, I use Reaper Daw..So LMono or R section of output from Nux mg 30 what do you suggest?? I use studio headphones..If the headphone is conencted directly from the mg 30 it sounds really nice but whenever I connect the headphone to the Focusrite scarlett it sounds pretty delayed in signal..
Sorry for the late reply, hhmm I'm not familiar w that pedal but shouldn't you be able to go from guitar to input of your pedal, then output of your pedal to input of your focus rite. If your getting lag, you need to change the buffer settings in the audio part pf your computer.
Yes, unless you have a dummy load built into your combo amp. Some new ones have that but most do not. You would unplug the port leading to your speaker and plug the speaker cable to the torpedo captor. Hope that helps
Hi thanks for Watching! I used to use a Boss NS2 noise gate but stopped as I felt it took away some high end in the amp. So no noise gate on this video
Best way for your amplifier is to match the impedence. Ox box is a multiple ohm rating, they do 4, 8 or 16 ohm but it's more than twice the price of the one I use in this vid
Holy smokes you made that so simple, appreciate it mike!
That's awesome to hear, hope it helps!
Awesome video mate , very informative, and some serious Riffage at the end there 🤘

🚀 Great video 🙏 How do you send the sound to your camera/mobile device - is that even possible? Best regards

Wall of sound software comes free with the torpedo captor? with 16 cab IRs available.
Yes that's right it does. Some of the cabs are great, I prefer the Neural Default cab though in this case.

@jls8 Ah awesome 👌 , that's a great amp. Thanks for the heads up I'll have to try this myself!
How do you edit your takes if its like i mean a real amp the wave form is like a thick brick. Is there a way to have the DI at the same time

@mikemitchell7529 so you play through an amp sim and then you use that.DI track to reamp your amp

@@Driven2Beats Yes, if you want to record a DI first, then pass it through the amp for a better tone later you need a Re-amp box

Yes, unless you have a dummy load built into your combo amp. Some new ones have that but most do not. You would unplug the port leading to your speaker and plug the speaker cable to the torpedo captor. Hope that helps
Can i do it without torpedo on my Laney Cub12r?
Hhmm, only if the Laney cub has a dummy load/silent record feature
Hi great video. Out of curiosity, do you use a gate (hardware or plugin) and where do you use it in the chain?
Cheers from Denmark.

What's the difference 8ohms and 16ohms is like the speakers impedance.?? Why this company don't make all 3 ohms 4,8,16 in one unit

What the hell is a reactive load box
Lol it's the name of the product - Two Notes Torpedo Captor Reactive Load Box 8 ohm. Marketing team hit a home run there.
