I remember these peanut butter bars. I grew up in Marietta and Elementary school in the 60's. Lunchroom food was pretty good! Especially these bars. Yum
These same peanut butter bars were a staple menu item in elementary school lunch program throughout my county, during the mid- 60s. All the kids loved them. I started thinking about them one day a few years ago - searched online for a recipe that looked right, and made them. Looked just like yours, but I don't recall if there was peanut butter in the frosting too - but there should be! Gonna make these again SOON. Love your channel.
I am watching your channel and fixed your Chocolate Pudding! Your like family to me, husband died of small cell lung Cancer. I am sorry you experienced Cancer in your life! So Glad God blessed you with LIFE ! You are serving Him by your cooking shows. I am from Talladega Alabama and life gets crazy lonely without him. You are Blessed and so am I by watching your show! I was always a good cook, but your teaching me so many things!
I have been looking for this recipe for a couple of years. Back in the 70's my mom would make this recipe with a chocolate frosting and mail them to me while I was at college. My favorite. Thank you.
I made these and my husband and I could not leave them alone. They are so delicious. I did use 1 cup less powered sugar in the icing. They turned out wonderful!!!
I never had these as a child but I was a teacher and that's when I tasted them. I loved them so much I asked the cook for the recipe! I'm going to try your recipe, too.
Our family are peanut butter lovers especially when you add chocolate. Will have to try these . I think I'll add some chocolate chips to the top while they're hot so they melt on them. Then I'll spread it out and let it set. Then add the icing. Yumm.
Oh, my gosh, those look delicious!! And I'm a peanutbutter-aholic so there's that! Will definitely be making these scrumptious looking peanut butter bars. Thanks so much, Tammy! Love your sweetheart little kitty too. She is darling.
Loved peanut butter chews growing up and have made “schoolhouse peanut butter chews” many times the ones I grew up eating had a touch of rolled oats and the glaze on top was different like a crystallized sugar with a touch of peanut butter almost like a simple syrup with peanut butter that hardens just a bit, that’s how I make them so nostalgic.
@@Theyralltakenfu SAME...LMAO! At first, I was like "alcoholic?'' "She must have meant peanut butterholic"...haha! I was cracking up though 😆 but I too am quite addicted to peanut butter myself! 😋
At Northside Elementary in Albany, Georgia, 1960’s era, we frequently had these delicious Peanut Butter Bars! I WILL be making these soon! Thank you Tammy and Mr. Tammy too!
Oh my goodness 🎉 i love peanut butter 🥜 my all time favorite!! I wish you were here to make those for me 😅 im 31 years old young man. But i dont think cooking of peanut butter bars would do justice like yours lol. Amazingly good those look

Need a glass of milk with that Tammy😋 They look so good and I know they taste amazing. We had peanut butter cake I think sometimes but not these. Yummy!! I bought that mixer Tammy and it is wonderful.
I am so excited! I have tried so many recipes for peanut butter bars, trying to find one that was close to the lunch room bars. I will let you know if these pass the test. I am crossing my fingers. YEAH!
Hi from Australia, I just made these from the recipe of your’s from 5yrs ago snow day for you and you had short hair (shorter than your husbands 😉). Omgord they are amazing and easy. Your video & recipe is very easy to follow. Thank you. Yummy💗
Hi Tammy & Chris! I live in SouthWest GA. And I LOVE your channel! Especially when dishes don’t turn out how you want, you guys are like “oh well, it’s still gone be good” . lol I love it! Keep up the good work you two💞
We didn't get these in school in my part of Georgia, but we got what I think were peanut butter cornflakes chews. I loved those and will be making these for the family tomorrow.
My boyfriend doesn't care for peanut butter much. HOWEVER, I told him, I used to get these from the lunch lady in elementary school. It will change your mind about peanut butter! Tammy, I made your recipe several times over the past year or two and HE LOVES THEM! I knew that he would. I LOVE these and your recipe is EXACTLY how I remember it. It just brings back so many memories. Thank you!!
We used to have these when I was in school and later found out our lunch lady added sweet potatoes to make them moist and made the peanut butter stretch.
Hi Tammy!!! I like to make bars cookies. I just dont like making individual cookies. I don't know if I ever had these. I went to a Catholic grade school. I am going to makes these for sure. They look super yummy. Great video!!!...
Looks 😋 yummy!! I really enjoy ur videos .love cooking for my family.appreciate real down home cooking!! Its a Rare Deed these days So please Tammy keep cooking for us like ur moma did!!😍
Hi Tammy & Chris! Who doesn't love these peanut butter bars?! My crew devours them! It didn't take them long to pick the recipe out of your cookbook and learn to make them. Their solution for the generous amount of frosting is to make two batches of the peanut butter bars! I remember waiting in the lunchroom line in anticipation, too. I would have been happy making my entire lunch out of those "lunchroom lady" rolls, these peanut butter bars & a carton or two of ice cold milk! Ohhh....the carbs & calories!! Those were the days! Lol Thanks for the demo of your recipe and for another video, y'all!
When I watched that raising in the oven, I was afraid at one point it would overflow. Then, but then, it reminded me of a spooky movie that started collapsing inside itself. It's just me and my visual imagination. Lol They do look really good.
Hey Tammy, I never had the pleasure of eating these, but I love peanut butter and I just know these will be delicious. I was curious what temperature you bake them on? Thanks for sharing this delicious looking recipe!
I didn't eat them in school but I did have a granny and auntie that made them and some good old fashioned divinity, yummy 🤤
