- Bethlehem Police Chief Michelle Kott, Captain Nicholas Lechman and District Attorney Stephen Baratta provided updates to the media Wednesday afternoon of a 43-year-old Lehigh Valley school police officer charged after an alleged "inappropriate" relationship with a student.

This is similar to another case where a school officer impregnated the young girl sexually assaulted her teenage friend then killed his ex wife and the young teen girl who gave birth.

This is another reason why people need to scrutinize cops more. Some get the badge to protect them from such behavior. Everyone should trust the cops right?

Smh. Your gut feeling and confirmation bias do not equal proof of any kind. There are plenty of adult to reach out to children to create a bond and help them become better Young adults, mentoring has always happened. Grooming is so difficult to catch precisely because that activity is often mirroring completely legitimate forms of outreach to kids. They are identical, so there’s no way you can look at two scenarios and instantly know what’s legitimate and what is not. Some people are way too confident that their gut feeling has any validity.

@@JayThaOneThatBeBuggin I’m a graduating senior at the school next-door, when the class of 24 was in middle school the behavior from the officer was the same. Mia as well as plenty of girls that attended the school considered alestas “friendly” he would come by during lunch and sit with us. Talk to us in the hallways check up on us, etc. I’m not surprised if he’s done this before. I also ran into him a week ago at a local outlet store, he told me and the friends that I was with that we we “look like weve grown”. If youre reading this as a student that knew alestas, im sorry. We must always be careful, even around authority. This is why we choose the bear in the woods.
