This was the first Zelda game I ever played as a kid! Omg I love this game! Older adventure games didn't really have a sense of what kind of puzzles or paths forward were fair or reasonable for a player to figure out. They'd figure out how to iron out the design and make the intended path less cryptic as the gaming medium got older. But it's the main reason why I think A Link to the Past aged really poorly, despite having so much awesome stuff.
