And so far she doesn't seem to have gotten infected with the "backzeez" that most US players are infected with. There's not an unnecessary backwards pass that any player on any US team won't make. How many times have I seen some stupid backwards passes go from the opponent's box right back to the US goalkeeper. My television is scared of me whenever I watch a US women's game. 😂
Emily Sonnet struggles with lateral passing; I don’t think she fully grasps the game. Our midfield during the recent Olympics was largely absent or consistently overpowered. Emma needs to address this before the next World Cup. I’m very curious to see which midfield she decides to field. My prediction is that it will include Lily Johannes, Ally Sentor, and Hal Hershfelt, along with Croix Bethune, and possibly Lindsay and Rose. Eva Catino demonstrated during her time on the field against Argentina that she can read the game exceptionally well. She made some impressive line-breaking passes in that match. I would love to see her start in the back line.
Commentator made a great statement....your player pool cannot have several players with 100+ caps while the majority of the pool has 10 or less. That is the exact problem with the USMNT, failure to stock the pantry and using old, stale players. The USWNT, for the most part, has done it correctly and the results prove it. A tough loss this game for the Dutch, but continued improvement by women's teams around the globe will prove that the investment made by the original 10-15 women's teams of the late 80's and early 90's is paying off in spades for women's soccer all around.

I don’t understand why we can’t train our men in the United States alongside our women. If only the men had the mentality and toughness, for lack of a better word, that American women possess. American women are technically as gifted as some European teams, but they compensate with their mentality, fitness, and will to win. I’m worried about all the U.S. men going over to Europe to develop, train, and play. I fear that they may not adopt the U.S. mentality and that they won't be physically superior. From watching various games, it's clear that physicality isn't going away anytime soon. The U.S. women's team took a step back under their previous coach, who consistently ran a 4-3-3 formation and relied on a counter-attacking style. It's no wonder they performed as they did in 2023. When I watched the 2019 World Cup with Jill Ellis as the coach, they played a different style. They built from the back, utilized long passes, and took advantage of their speed against opponents, but they weren't focused on transitional football. I’m curious to see what happens in 2027. It's concerning to see the United States women's team struggling, particularly in the midfield. The starting defense appeared weak, especially Jenna at left-back; I doubt she will be starting again. While Girma and Fox are solid and fast, which gives me some confidence, Emma needs to address the backline issues and decide on a left-back, as Jenna's performance was disappointing. In midfield, Emma is misusing Albert as a holding midfielder, while Horan has struggled to perform at the national level, despite being a key player for her club. I believe Hal Hershfelt could be a better option in that role. Additionally, Lily Johannes should be starting, and I hope to see Ally Sentor, Croix Bethune, and Rose Lavelle involved for the upcoming World Cup. The focus should be on fixing the midfield and ensuring cohesion with the forwards and defense. The midfield simply did not hold up in the recent game, which is a significant concern moving forward, especially with the upcoming goalkeeper situation. The return of Sophia Smith, Mallory Swanson, and Trinity Rodman for the She Believes Cup will help improve chemistry.
@@DustyBarrels464 I agree with all of this but Jenna just came off of an injury. She is still one of the best defenders in the league she just needs time to adjust back. I know that she will be ready in a couple months to be back at her level.
Sorry but I was not impressed with Yohannes. Coffey was amazing, hence played full game. And I’m stoked with Ryan. But the Netherlands were hands down the better team. Such skill and pressure winning back every ball.
What are your thoughts on Lily Johannes? I’m intrigued by her performance, especially since the United States didn’t start her but brought her on in the 70th minute. The U.S. women's team has the opportunity to strengthen its midfield, and I suggest keeping an eye on emerging talents like Croix Bethune, Hal Hershfelt, and Ally Sentor. I have a feeling that one or two of these players could be part of the starting lineup in the upcoming 2027 World Cup alongside Johannes and Hershfelt. It seems the competition for a spot will be particularly interesting between Ally Sentor and Croix Bethune. From what I saw, Johannes performed well given her limited time on the field. For Dutch fans, it's understandable to feel the loss of a talented player, especially since this is the first time the United States has successfully recruited a player like her to their national team. If I’m not mistaken, there are a few Dutch-American players on the roster, with at least one currently playing who was born in the U.S. and holds citizenship. It wasn't a huge surprise to see Johannes choose the United States. She had two clear paths: potentially regret not selecting the U.S. and missing out on opportunities to win a World Cup or Olympic gold, or honoring her roots while aiming for success with her birth nation. The Dutch midfield showed promise in that game, employing a 3-5-2 formation effectively. However, the U.S. does seem to have a pressing issue with the left-back position that needs addressing. Additionally, the Dutch could benefit from being more decisive in front of goal; the match had the potential to be 4-0 in their favor within the first 39 minutes. Lily has the chance to develop with a strong generation of U.S. women’s players. The young midfielders I mentioned, along with the starting front line and back line, are all poised for growth. We’ll soon find out whether the previous goalkeeper was a crucial factor in the team's performance or if it reflects the traditional resilience of U.S. women's soccer, where they often manage to win even when they’re outplayed.

These new players don’t have the trackback speed yet. And they either share the ball too much in the final third or not enough play-to-play. Missing obvious goal chances. Coffey needs to stop fouling every game.

Shrugging off 🇺🇸 “pay to play” products of the club circuit, hip checking them, tossing them to the ground. these were grown ass women playing against slow/small college girls in the midfield and it showed. USA is thin @ midfield after its starting players from Olympics. It’s something that needs developing. With the midfiled talent that 🇳🇱 has, you can see why 17 year old Yohanes chose the 🇺🇸. She will be in the starting rotation next year. Well, the euros are next year for the Dutch to improve. And for the United States . . . Lots of meaningless regional games against weak sides like El Salvador

Good game, though it would seem time for Emma Hayes to bring back the triple mocha /trident attacking trio that won the gold medal in the 2024 Olympics in Paris. The experimenting with "new blood" should run its course by now. Looks like the European teams (England, Spain, Germany, The Netherlands , and even Italy ) are ready to challenge the U.S.A.
Ha! Emma Hayes is just starting to evaluate the available and up and coming talent. She is trying some new tactics too. This all has to gel. She has a couple of years to develop this team.
Swanson, Smith and Rodman are all resting with minor injuries. Friendly matches are also built for experimentation. This was a coaching clinic 101. And boy will they need to be in the classroom in the next camp. The different looks Hayes puts together in the midfield each half are a work of art.

CANADA HAS THE BEST GOAL KEEPER , NUMBER ONE ON THE PLANET !!
*This is the USA 'B' team. The A team stayed at home.*
Were all 11 from b team?
It’s the C team
This is USA 🇺🇸 C team .
Thank you
Netherlands missed a lot and then the unfortunate own goal. A good match. Well played both teams.
Ryan to Williams!!!
Naeher is honestly the greatest goalkeeper ever. Enjoy your retirement.
Naeher is retiring?? Why? she's fantastic!
God bless you all family in the world ❤, queen Elizabeth ❤
Thanks
I always thought men's game were soft by wow, yellow card as well lol 4:33 also Netherlands outplayed USA most of the match, a lot of mistakes in women's football especially not looking at the ball 4:33 unlucky own goal
These new players don’t have the trackback speed yet. And they either share the ball too much in the final third or not enough play-to-play. Missing obvious goal chances. Coffey needs to stop fouling every game.
She's slow. She gets beat and then she fouls. Maybe they need someone who isn't slow.
Coffey literally ran extremely fast to block a possible goal. Also she's definitely not the problem on this team.
@@zacharyfeiles356lmao. I like Coffey in general but this is about actual soccer, not personality. And yes, her play is an issue if she fouls every game.
Loved how the 🇳🇱 midfielders were bossing the game really until Yohanes came on at 68 min.
😂😂😂😂
is it me or was there a lot of acting for penalties, the first half should have been much higher but the us goaler was great.
The detractors expect our ladies to walk into The Hague and run over the Oranje. I suppose it could happen but not likely. Welcome to football people.
This wasn't a "She believes"cup - this was a tough away from home test against 2 teams trying to prove that they've caught up with the USA.
The ladies passed. For those of you that do not follow soccer - winning away is not easy.
Literally no one expected the US C team to stroll in there and win easy 🤣 at all. You’ve invented this in your head. Most of those players have barely been capped.
@@kycone I think you've missed my point.
The best player on the field was the American goalie, the rest of the American team were really good at committing fouls
FIFA SHOULD TEST THE WOMEN'S SOCCER BEFORE THE GAME .
All the fake injuries, is why I only watch football on highlights nowadays. None of them were injured, they just wanted to have a water break.
lol sure thing keyboard warrior from the
OMG LMAO brilliant header 8:03 :P
Can't they get some commentator other than Julie Foudy? Her screeching voice is not suited to this job.
Foudy's comments sound like she's trying out for a coaching job. Just call the game Julie and calm down.
Maura Sheridan and Jordan Angeli! It's not that I don't like Julie Foudy, but does she have to be on camera from the beginning of the pregame show, the first and second half, the halftime show and the postgame?
THATS MY GOALIE GOT DAMNIT🥺
Esmee Brugts ❤
Run its course by now?! 🤣 the new cycle hasn’t even started yet. This is EXACTLY when you put in the inexperienced players. You’re gonna have a bad time next year if you don’t learn what a friendly is.
@@kycone How many friendlies did Messi and Argentina have to play to FINALLY win the men's FIFA World Cup in Qatar? How many friendlies did the Spanish Women's team have to play before winning the women's FIFA World Cup. Keeping playing friendlies , Emma Hayes!
i do hate blatant diving ! 1:44
the american does all in her power to try and bring the player down, after she got beaten 2:16
i dont mean to be savage , but ripping people up all the time isnt really football is it 4:34 ( i know bernstien likes to fall over though )
yellow card for sam coffey , why doesnt that suprise me 11:21
Professional fouls have been a part of the game since it started 🤣
Not the best but that more effective team win.
Coffey needs to start playing clean.
Sorry but this is a game that the Dutch will want to forget in a hurry
Does anyone know what the defender Bowman was doing to score an own goal and how many chances does Van de Donk need to find the net
where is Miedema?
Babies, way to go.
Good performance nedarlands but win USA
This is what I don't get about defense. Netherlands is threatening and Roord gets a shot on gol. The US defender Korbin is jogging behind the action. The ball goes to Roord but the US defender is casual and not in position to defend. Even Coffey is ball-watching and no closing down either player
They’re inexperienced at this level. It’s that simple.
Ryan is not cutting it in first half.
Haters love to hate. She did fine. I wonder why Emma Hayes the undefeated coach kept her in?
Did the Netherlands have their best players there?
No, Pelova, Dijkstra & Miedema were not present.
And Damaris to.
11:59 ?? why
Hollandham Netherspur. Clinching defeat from the jaws of victory. Spursy
I'm mad that Sentnor didn't get more playing time to showcase what she can do. 😡
she is still super young! It’s a true honor Emma has given her some caps and play time trust me if she keeps it up she will be a key part of attacks!
On a 23 player roster that includes a healthy Triple Espresso and Croix Bethune, Ally Sentnor might have to be patient and hope Lindsey Horan retires soon (and I'm a fan of Sentnor).
the 1:1 was exactly stupid like the the two goals of Italy against Germany.....
Thank you Naher
Lots of lowlights get highlighted...boring 14 minutes
The coach of Zambia should be forced to watch games like this, and then given an assessment on how both teams played the concept of which he has never a clue- defense. How the hell do you lead Australia 4-1, in the second half, and lose the game 5-4?????????????
Take away Banda and Kundananji and Zambia is equal to most US division ii college soccer teams (go Columbus State Cougars)
@@erobinsonii Remove them for what reason? They are Zambians. They are products of the Zambian football system. They are both soldiers, and received promotions for their efforts on the football field, just last week, from the commander of the Zambia Army
cool
USA got lucky. Always seems to fall their way, they got outplayed
rather be lucky than good but usa is both
If only women players could kick the ball harder they could have scored more goals..
Van der donk
Never liked Van de Donk she makes a lot of trouble but had 4 or 5 chances to score and zeroed out. To the bench she goes. No better than the overrated booty shorts girl for the Swiss. Alyssa somebody or other.
Team USA are lucky, the Dutch played them off the field. Dutch did not take advantage of the opportunities, Jill Roord has just come from a long injury and does not yet have the killing instinct. It's a practice match, but team USA is no longer what it is.. and don't tell them that this is a B or C team because then you're selling the players short. But the Dutch also missed some important basic players.

@@erobinsoniiYes like getting the opposition to score a goal for you 😆
Ridiculous scoreline. Holland was so much better in creating chances.
So how many goals does a team get per style points?
Looks like the USA played the joker and came up Trumps.
Surprising to see the USA so at sea, especially in the first half. But I suppose they are playing an experimental team. It just demonstrates the wonder that is football, that a team can dominate the first half, yet go on to lose. The USA is playing like a world class team - Even when they don't play particularly well, they still manages to win.
LFG 🇺🇸
Sam Coffey is so cringe.
Netherlands is a good team but they are extremely dirty. They were getting away with a lot of fouls not being called. The same way they played the US in the World Cup. Karma caught up to Netherlands in the second half. America has too much talent to get beat by the likes of Netherlands. The better team won!!!
Better ?, nah in the end it was a tie regarding performance. in first half, Oranje would have easily scored 5-0, but due to a own goal and less spirit the US won. Simple fact.
USA kick butt
American viewers were goin for Netherlands
Women soccer is so overrated. 👎🏻
❤🇺🇸❤
Rose Lovelle is the shadow of herself...No dribbling, no shots of quality; time for her to call it quit!
Lmao go to bed
LOL. This made me laugh. Lavelle is amazing and you cant even spell her last name. Go watch some gotham games and tell her to quit.
Another bad game from the United States tem.
US got lucky this time. US defenders are slower than Dutch attackers
u.s.a football
Go Atlanta Falcons! Oh, you meant soccer?
...at least the Americans reflect the REAL America. No more a only 'colour' team.
THE YANKEES ARE VERY AGRESSIVE , BUT CANADIANS ARE THE BEST !!
Some of the most beautiful women on earth stepping up to the challenge, great sport,,,
USA is still on top in womens football but it's getting tight. The players are fast and they have great physique but in skills they are nowhere near the best teams like Spain f.ex. They are not going to win forever by having track & field athletes in their squad.
yeah with a selection of 50 countries🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Poor quality football 😂
Where are all the Americans now , 😂USA were extremely lucky but seems the yanks have gone in hiding typical
