Lots of great scifi horror in the 50's. Definate classics.
There certainly are, Dave, and some which people might not call "sci-fi horror" like Forbidden Planet but indeed they are. Will get into that more on the Friday show.
"Would sixty gallons be sufficient?" Many thanks for this compilation of my favourite Sci-Fi/Horror films from the 1950s!
haha yes one of many great scenes in Forbidden Planet. I'm doing the live show on the 50s Friday night then a condensed version of that show uploaded Sunday afternoon.
@@horrormike The scene you included with the invisible Monster from the Id walking towards that Earth spaceship reminded me a lot of the invisible footsteps (or hoof steps) of the Demon Monster in "The Night (Curse) of the Demon" (1957). I'd say that director Jacques Tourneur; director of the aforementioned; got his idea for the invisible demon hoof steps from "Forbidden Planet." I'll tune into your show, if I can. Thanks!
@@walterfechter8080 That could be. Night of the Demon is another great flick from the 50s, will be covering it.
Great video Mike you have encouraged me to watch The Blob and The Thing 1950s version AGAIN
excellent man, both are worthy of many viewings and some of the best sci-fi horror films of the 50s
I lovw 50s horror and sci fi, would love a deep dive on them. Need ti find simeI haven't seen. Watched fiend without a face again just the other night! great stuff
Fiend without a Face is one of the great sci-fi horror films of the 1950s, I put it way up there on the list. The original story "The Thought Monster" written by Amelia Long was published in Weird Tales in 1931.
There's 1 film you don't see that often if at all. The clip with the japanese in it is from a movie called the H Man. I've seen it loads of times as a kid on Creature Features, but I don't remember the plot as its been ages as in decades since I last saw it. Made by Toho Stidios iirc.
Oh yes, the H-Man is neck and neck with The Blob. Similar kind of creature in the sense that it's going ooze through that crack in the door and get you!
None of these are horror.
Correct. They are sci-fi horror.
