  • In the New Testament, there are different Greek words used for “love,” each with its own connotations. Which one of them describes your love for Jesus? Which one describes God’s love for you? How ought we respond to Jesus’ love for us? How is this love different from that which the world can give? In this lesson, Dr. Sproul discusses the love Jesus gives His people and how we should in turn love one another.
This is the 9th in a series of messages by Dr. Sproul on the love of God. See other videos in the series: • Loved by God - R.C. Sp...

Amen Sproul. We are to love our neighbours and our enemies, as Christ our Saviour did. May we bless and praise His holy name forevermore. God bless you all.

    John 21:15
Do you “agapas” me more than…
I don’t know why R.C. Sproul uses the word “agape” in this text in John 21:15

What about the 4th Greek word for love - Storge or familial love.? How come RC mentions only 3.

That Greek verb is not used in the NT in the context of God's love.

We have no ability to access AGAPE by ourselves, through our own effort... None! All we can ever access by ourselves, by our own efforts here on Earth, is this lower, limited kind of human brotherly love. And it is only if we earnestly desire and ask Logos (God) for His supernatural love, AGAPE, can we ever obtain it.
This AGAPE through Logos (God) is
what life and eternity is all about, because Logos (God) is AGAPE, the most beautiful, priceless, unlimited treasure, available to all who earnestly desire it. It is the key to life, and to all of eternity. Without IT a person's religion/belief system is pointless/meaningless.,

Logos means word and refers to the son of God

@@tishaproduction ... it has an even deeper meaning in Greek culture that pre-dates the Christian era. But also has been translated, interpreted as Christ... the word, the prime mover, the intelligence behind our world/universe... as in: "In the beginning was the Word."
