Great to see this game get some attention! It was the only military shooter I have ever been able to invest in, so hearing others thoughts on it is good to see.
I think it's a fine game for the most part too! I wish the online portion wasn't shut down, I think it would've been super fun to co-op. I didn't even really get to mention that aspect because it's no longer accessible apparently. Same goes for a lot of the DLC that added extra story. I'm not sure how it is on console, but on Steam none of that seemed to be available to purchase any longer.
It has a lot of super cool concepts in it for sure! I think it's in the middle for me out of the Ghost Recon games that I have played. It's definitely better than stuff like Breakpoint, but I think maybe nostalgia (and probably because I played GRAW first) hits me on the feels a bit on that one. I really wish I could've tried the cooperative stuff with Future Soldier for sure!
This was my first ghost recon game and man what a ride this game was gotta say both the drip for the ghosts went incredibly hard and the theme of the Russian ghost guys was so cool
My first Ghost Recon and close to my heart. Maybe not the "CoD killer", but good enough for me to stay in the franchise and OH BOY. OG Ghost Recon, Wildlands then Breakpoint (thank God for modders btw). Story, characters and gameplay kept me in. I can understand why people may not like Hunter Squad story but for me was quite captivating to make me invested. Too bad GR franchise is most likely to gather dust on shelf of history after failure-game-streak that became Ubisoft's new marketing strategy. But good memories will live on.
Oh yeah, I think it had a lot of really great ideas. Even tactical shooters and cover based shooters in general have become rare it seems like. And I can see that. I think the story does have its share of great moments (like the spec ops ambushes and stuff).
GR future soldier is great game, the weapon costumization is great.after I play it, I feel that if future shooter game don't have same weapon costumization like this game then it shit. Drone, stealth, x-ray, camouflage is very futuristic too.
To be honest, it's one of the deepest weapon customizations that I've seen in a game. Wildlands and Breakpoint have a lot of customization too, but they aren't anywhere the same level as FS. The x-ray was actually great, was probably one of the thing I used the most in the campaign. Helped a ton!
I loved this game. Story moves the gameplay as it should. I liked the future gameplay. I wish it had controller support for PC, as I played this on PS3.
The gameplay is really what drives it too, it's cool that it seemed like you got new stuff on just about every level. I didn't even realize that about the controller, I was playing with mouse and keyboard. More options would've been good for sure.
Future Soldier had some excellent gameplay but the unskippable cutscenes were so goddamn annoying it killed the replay value Someone make a mod to skip the cutscenes (or at least fast-forward through them)
The gameplay really was solid for sure! I don't remember too many unskippable cutscenes, I think the ones that I saw were skippable. (Or at least the ones that I remember.)
@@RistoTheAristo I remember pretty much all of them were unskippable, and there were also in-game cutscenes/sequences that are technically not "cutscenes" but just drag on forever before you get to take control and actually play the game
Joe Ramirez was the Second in Command Ghost squad member in Advanced Warfighter 1 and sadly he gets killed within the first mission of this game bro was in the Mexican War and survived Operation KingSlayer and worked in Operation phantoms before Future Soldier
Easily my favorite Ghost Recon game. The Bodark in Ember Hunt just had a different vibe from future enemies of the series.
That was one of the more difficult levels to me too, it was another good, challenging one, and the part where the Spec Ops show up was crazy.

This was my introduction to the Ghost Recon franchise. Never forget it

Never played but great analysis as always. Keep up the good work, looking forward to more of your stuff and can't wait to see what's next!
Thanks!
So many good memories playing this.
I wish I had played it sooner!

You can really see some of the elements from this game being improved upon in later Tom Clancy titles. Notably the UI.
Yeah for sure. And even stuff like gunsmithing has been taken into games like GR Breakpoint.

That's interesting, didn't remember that! I recognized Scott Mitchell but completely forgot about Ramirez.
Interesting
