Even as good as they were back then, they have elevated to be the best A cappella group that can be found. Their range and clarity and of tone is incredible. The crossover to all the genre they can perform is unmatched in this industry. ❣

Love this older one from Home Free (2014). They all look so young especially Austin. Love the scatting that Austin does. And Adam Rupp blows me away with his fabulous beatboxing as usual. These guys are infectious. Love all their different personalities. They make me smile. The ending is funny. The song says "Wake Me Up When It's All Over", so Rob woke Austin up from his dream.

The official video was actually released in November 2013, at the point when Home Free had recorded the Sing-Off and knew they'd won, but it hadn't been on TV and seen by the public. They were working on recording an album "Crazy Life" so it could be released as soon as the results were announced, so they could build on the publicity they got from the show. They knew that many winners of TV music competitions soon went back to obscurity, and they wanted to build a more permanent career.

In intervews they've said that the only thing they wanted was to not be the first ones off. Win or lose they wanted to have an album ready in order to capitalize on the exposure they'd gotten on the show.

Yuri, so glad you reacted to this one. I could tell that you are fond of the song. 😊 I'd never heard of this song or Avicii before I heard HF do it. I listened to Avicii sing it. I thought HF did a very good, interesting interpretation with the slight country vibes and especially Austin's scatting. And HF sang this during The Sing-Off TOUR, after the show was aired. The Sing-Off chose the winner HF, Voice Play, and the Filharmonic to tour. Can you just imagine the fun these 3 groups had? 😂

Always a bonus when they dance no matter the sound quality. 😂 ❤ Love this song by HomeFree. 🎉

The guys have said that the person who sings lead in a song is the one who they feel is the best fit. Sometimes they'll each record the lead vocals to see who has the best "sound".
    They shot this video in 2013 so their ages then would have been;
    Chris Rupp- 33
    Tim Foust- 32
    Adam Rupp- 31
    Rob Lundquist- 30
    Austin Brown- 27

I believe this was a song they arranged as an "in case we need it" on the Sing Off.
If you asked Austin today, he'd probably agree that he was too young to understand anything at 27.

One gets nostalgic seeing them here years ago. Nice version. RIP Avicii.
    Thanks, Melissa.
Happy New Year, Yuri and everyone here (a bit late, I know). 🍀

Looking at the end dates I just noticed that this live number was done the day before the most watched of Adam's live drum solos -- April 15th & 16th 2015. Interesting.

In this lineup Chris Rupp is oldest, followed by Tim, Adam, then Rob and Austin is youngest. Many people think Rob is the oldest, but he's not. Rob woke up Austin (wake me up) when it was all over (the video) Haha!

So much fun. Love seeing those live videos too. The boys were in their 30’s except for Austin who was probably late 20’s although he looked younger without his beard. He was scatting….he does that well. Loved Tim’s lows. I don’t think the concert had a good sound system then. I think phones have improved too. Good one Yuri!!! So the boys are now in their early 40’s. Hard to believe.

Most of the live performances you see on UA-cam is from a fan's cell phone.

I recently saw a new Home Free video with Adam Bastien singing the lead. I'm still trying to get used to seeing/hearing him with the band. BTW, Austin has a new video of his rendition of "Defying Gravity" and another introducing his new band (both on his channel).

I really DO NOT like the live versions that are recorded on someone's cellphone because the audio quality is ZILCH! Their official live versions like Sea Shanty Medley are GREAT!
