    Thank you Leon, Studio quad is fantastic multifx, I sold the old version you could not set the volume for single patches but the effects were fantastic, I think today we get lost behind many parameters while those 90's racks are simple and immediate,.

    I still own one of those! Back in the day we used it as a FX unit for the mixer. It's a really versatile peice of kit, you can also use it in a 4CM on guitar with the right routing config.

    *I purchased that GP-100 and there were some SERIOUS inadequacies with that unit "not speaking about the condition". I do have a Se-70 and love it, fact I run two of them. That said as not to bash a unit cause its older but in contrast to the GP-100, how well does that Studio Quad V2 really work??!*

    *Leon I stack stereo detuns from 2 se70s and while it sounds hellva, it still seems like it not WIDE... In your opinion. for someone wo wants that wide detune effect, do you think the DIGITECH STUDIO QUAD would be worth buying, regardless of the se70's? I guess I am asking how to the se70 and studio quad DETUNERS compare in your user opinion?*

    Great video, Leon. I really like the Andy Summers-esque tone you called up. I have a weird nostalgia for rack units like this, even though I never owned one at the time. I would see them in ads/articles in magazines like Guitar World and dream of the day that I finally put together my dream rack setup. Obviously never happened on a high schooler's budget. 25 years later I have a rack-mounted Axe FX III, though, so I guess it came to pass in a sense.

      @@LeonTodd I think I'm going to use the Quad as a reverb and delay for a cheap vintage analog/modular synth setup. I have a couple of those berhinger monosynths replicas (pro 1 and neutron), it's kind of perfect since those are very dry, and I can have both on separate channels.
      I originally got the quad 2001 to use as a live DJ fx box. Now I use a Poly Beebo for the same purpose (which is also 4x4). Anyway, thanks for reminding me this unit isn't worthless!

      For what it is, I think it sounded fantastic! The detune sounded great to be honest. The rest of effects were okay/good and more than enough for the working man. Plus with the routing and parameters change abilities… it’s a no brainer. I don’t recall how much they went for back then but I’m sure it was a good investment for the rack gear basement player. Still have a digitech digital delay that I bought during those years and the Genesis was my first amp sim/multi-effects 🤘

      LOL! I have a similar storage setup at home. It definitely takes some practice to get them off the hangers without knocking them into each other. That said, all of my guitars are fairly well-used as I was a rather abusive live player back in the day, so the occasional bump doesn't bother me.

    • @Wayne_Mather
      @Wayne_Mather 2 роки тому +2

      This comes down to 1 question: Are you going to record yourself? If you are going to produce - then go monitors - if all your going to do is just jam, then FRFR will be fine.
      NOTE: If you are going to go studio monitors for recording, you will need to get yourself a good audio interface to go between your computer and your input. Universal Audio, Focusrite to name just two - just incase this knowledge is not known to you.
      Hope this helps and have fun 😀

    Hey Leon (or anyone else that knows), I am using this with my Peavey Rock Master preamp. What is the best way to connect them together? At the moment, I'm running the preamp out of the Rock Master (0dB) into Input 1 on the Studio Quad. Then I have outputs 1 and 2 going to my Peavey CS200X power amp. It seems to be working but something just seems off about the sound. I'm pretty much a noob with rack gear but I am enjoying the journey thus far. Any suggestions are welcome, thanks!
