Coconut Island and the Tsunami Palm Tree, Hilo HI

I took a trip to Coconut Island in Hilo bay yesterday. It contains a palm tree marked with the heights of various tsunamis over the years. Thanks to Phil Clemmer for taking me.

aloha ... i was born and raised in Hilo and just wanted to say the school at the end is the wrong school... the water didn't make it anywhere NEAR that far up the road... not even close... right as you start the clip driving up the hill, if you pause at 2:19 out his drivers window is an empty covered parking roof... THAT'S where the water stopped. The school that was hit was Kapiolani Elementary on Kilauea ave across from Cafe 100. Sorry just seamed like this guy must have heard something wrong somewhere... all information available publicly thru the Hilo Tsunami Memorial Museum on Kamehameha Ave, Bayfront, Hilo.
