Nate may be the villian; but villians are made not born. Nate being the way he is, makes sense considering what he's been through, and considering who his father is.
I didn't watch the series can you tell me how he is a villain? like what are the wrong things he did?
@@Thisorthat00009 his abusive towards women; a lot of that stems from his childhood trauma the sl in my opinion is very much “the abused becomes the abuser” not being able to escape the cycle and the fear of being powerless, and not being what “society” expects of you as a man turning you into this toxic alpha type. There is alot of nuance to the character I think his one of the best written in the show.

I've always hated Nate, for all the evil he's done. It wasn't until the last episode that I felt sorry for him. His character is very problematic, but I have compassion for him. His parents were never there, he grew up in anger and pain. He is also traumatized by his dad. He's the best villain.

Nothing genuine can be behind putting others through hell. Its just like saying it was genuine for his father for being the way he is.
We may dislike Nate's personality but truth be told his character makes sense considering his childhood

The reason I love the villainous characters is because you see they have a backstory as to why they are the way they are. Seeing this type of character develop is fascinating and I just adore how complex they are.
Thanks for this video, Jacob is amazing at playing Nate, he's more talented than "The Kissing Booth" would have you believe!

I just hate that his father made him the villain when Cal was the bad all along. It breaks my heart especially when he talked about his nightmares about the tapes and all. Another beautiful video full of emotions 👏

@@johnhenry4844 that’s how I feel too. I felt so bad seeing his back story. He was so happy at that bar and he loved his friend. He couldn’t be himself. It’s just terrible how he turned hateful and dark, at one point he was a decent human.
I got goosebumps. Most videos about Nate are just showing how hot or toxic he is. But this video just... hits so hard.

@@dilfpee7249 I hate him and his scenes as much as you do but that's the writer's fault. Like this character honestly had the potential to have a god-tier arc of self-discovery and healing but idk Sam just kept writing him worse and worse to the point I think he's just irredeemable now... I guess if Sam wants Nate to remain this way to show some people just never change I get it but why give him such a complex and difficult backstory just to give him the most simple and boring conclusion? He could've been so interesting truly. They even got him a great actor...
@@dilfpee7249 thats not really an argument that you're making, both characters as about the same when it comes to being realistic or not, it's entertainment after all. My point is that there's quite a bunch of scenes with Rue that are uninteresting at best (even tho I like her arc) and could be put to better use

This is pure brilliance.. you captured the essence of Nate's character in this edit.. I hate those people who hate Nate without comprehending the complexities of his psyche.. he's one of the most complicated and fascinating characters I've seen on a TV show..

At times i feel sorry for nate, for the past that made him into the villain he is. two seasons in his character is still the most complex one.. hopefully the third season will unravel more of him

Прям чувствуешь всю травму и боль через которую Нейт прошёл, видишь его самые жуткие страхи (насилие со стороны отца) и потаённые желания (кхм, то как Джулс так интересно мелькает в его галюнах и кошмарах прям... хех, надеюсь, что эти отношения ещё больше исследуют в 3 сезоне).

Nate isn’t a bad person. That man is just suffering from HOCD. HOCD can be life ruining and destroys you emotionally.
He has ASPD, I think. I have a friend with ASPD and he acts similarly to Nate sometimes but even he thinks Nate went too far. You can have ASPD and not be a bad person--if you're self aware and know how to control your impulses. Nate is not, and does not.

Even though nate is a horrible person. I relate to his pressure of being masculine and I felt bad for him after seeing his backstory. I hope he grows into a good human being.

growing up in a toxic and abusive family, i still stick to my personality though i have had manier negative changes but at the end of the day i know better than to fuck up who i really am

(im 14 btw n still live with my parents, my dad's an alcoholic with anger issues and my mum's got anger issues too, a toxic persona and is a physical n mental abuser

The scene where fez hit him with the bottle he's smiling like physical pain can't define how painful everything u know shit he so wanna hurt himself to feel outside of that pain like it's so fucked up deep and dark. The edit defines it all.
This is a great video--thank you! I hope they address the third child who's missing from the family portrait on the wall. I think that has something to do with Nate turning "dark" at 8 or 9, (he found his dad's discs at age 11). Also, Nate 'knows' what his mom is trying to say "without saying it." I'm dying to find out what that is.

I didn’t feel like i was watching short clips from the series, felt like a movie.
I absolutely loved this edit! Watching this and how Nate is I understood his character on why he was the way he is. I know this because it's exactly me. You learn things about who your father is and while my mom was around, she still hadn't been there for me emotionally. It was always what Nates mom said. Even I get angry and I'm traumatized by my dad, but no one listens to hear me, or understand me until that one person you crush on shows you and ends up being the Cassie to your Nate. It's crazy. But I definitely don't agree with his motives or how he abused women I just can understand how he became who he is.
And he probably has a mental illnes because one moment he is a normal person and then 10 seconds later he acts like a maniac, i really hope he gets help before he becomes worse and hurts more people

I don't see him as a villan, in season2 he seems more calm, and less violent, he did a lot of bad things, but he also had moments when he felt sorry, he doesn't beats up girls, yea he choked maddy cause she insulted his mom, hate him for that, but that was the only time he went physical with her, not defending him, he had the courage to confront his dad and he fekt sorry for what he did to jules, he gave her the disc, i think he need therapy, maybe he cand change

Nate is trying to be good but his dad really ruined him. And I guess he is right about maddy bringing out the worst in him I can’t stand them they should break and go far away from each other I have nothing against maddy is beautiful strong and opinionated and that’s exactly why he can’t control her, on the other hand Cassie likes to be in control of someone who loves her when Cassie said “im crazier” she didn’t meant it a violent way that of maddy she meant she’s ready to accept the circumstances of the situation and was ready sacrifice everything for him that’s how much madly she loves him (people really think of this as spineless or not having self respect or being submissive but in reality some people just do it for love) something that maddy would never do. And secondly don’t hate Cassie please she’s a victim
