I’m the first to admit I’m surprised and more than a little worried that his hamstring is still bothering him. To finish that Adelaide semi and win against Medvedev and then come back 24 hours later and beat Korda in a 3 hour marathon suggested that this was not a serious injury and would calm down with rest and rehab in the following week leading up to his first round match.
    But it’s still bothering him.
His movement is good. You see him running and stretching like always. He’s dictating points and imposing his will. I don’t see him limping or struggling. Is it just a locked up hamstring? A small tear? Lots of questions.
Taping, treatment and the Australian heat are probably going to have to have to see him through to the finish line. He’s a superior athlete with superhuman flexibility. Will that be enough to withstand a 5 setter?
He’s 9-1 against Dmitrov. If he can get through that match in 3 or 4 sets, I think he can do it.

well for one thing i dont think he hit a single backhand dtl winner all match and his open stance backhands just arent there. everything else will probably be fine. but after this match novak said that he does not feel fine, so make of that what you will. tbh id bet anything that djokovic wins this tournament. if i was 21 id bet all my money on it, once people start doubting him... oh man, hes such a heavy favorite and once kyrgios withdrew i knew that was it. rune in quarterfinals potentially dangerous if i were to label the biggest weak spot, but tbh i think rublev will take care of rune and we know he cant play djokovic. and if rune does beat rublev, i think on these aussie open courts he'll survive, paris masters was a strange match, i wont expect djokovic to lose his nerve at such a stage. anyway 99.99% confident on him, id keep 100 of my dollars in my bank account.

After the second set Novak said enough is enough. The last two sets were emphatic statements. He needed to finish quickly to give the hamstring a rest. Novak could be in trouble in a truly long 5 set match. That would probably be against Rune.

Djokovic is through to the FO quarterfinal without dropping a set. Enzo Couacaud is STILL the only man to take a set off Djokovic at slam level this year. And it was a set Djokovic honestly should have won. Djokovic is 33-1 in sets at slam level this year. Insane stat. Getting better with age and showing zero signs of slowing down.

His hamstring could slow him down during sprints toward the net to return drop shots, in lateral movements by the baseline he uses abductors/adductors ( groin muscles).Either way, Djokovic should be fine since he is very flexible and the threat of additional injury is minimal.Remember, he has waited for this opportunity for a long time, and minor discomfort will not discourage him to prove to the whole world ONE-MORE-TIME something that every Nadal and Federer fan already knows, that the GOAT race will officially be over after this 1O , I mean AO is over.

Djokovic plays because he thinks he deserves the respect of the public. He plays out of anger. That's the reason why he would never be the greatest, not matter what he acomplishes.

Hey, you seem unhappy, frustrated, mean , grumpy..open your brain , your heart..do something positive with yourself.. life is too short to spend it negatively. Novak is one and only!! Human giant! Tennis goat!!

@@Siguich Greatness is much more than numbers. Mark Twain said that ignorance is one of the two necessary requirements for success, so then I already have 50%. Besides... we can't all be as wise as you!

@@romanjaviergiordano You have no clue what youre talking about. Main reason why people like you have wrong picture about Novak is that he came after Federer and Nadal. They got their fanbase created way earlier so when Novak started destroying your idols (Federer and Nadal) sad people like you didnt know what to do so they imagine those lies about Novak. Novak is great human being not only around tennis but also in real life outside of the sport. I dont understand why people hate such a good sportsman , i like both Federer and Nadal but just realistictly Novak is better then them. Federer was dominating when top 10 were way weaker then in Novaks era. Novak came and destroyed Nadal and Federer and thats why you hate him. Be a good and real human being and appreciate greatness

Allowing 2+ hours of harassment from a few spectators is abuse by the umpire, he heard everything and chose to do nothing.
