Are Pouring & Stamping Curved Concrete Walkways Difficult?

This video shows you how we pour and stamp a curved concrete walkway or sidewalk. This is the front walkway to this house. The owners wanted stamped concrete to look like random stones.
We used grey integral colored concrete and a black antiquing agent to achieve the finished look.
Before we got our Poly Meta Forms (the flexible ones) we used these white Azek boards to form curves. They do work good but they're really expensive to purchase. Now, we use the flexible 4" Poly Meta Forms to form up all our curved concrete walkways and patio slabs.
The access on this job wasn't great. As you'll see, we decided to wheelbarrow the concrete because we didn't want to damage the front lawn and there wasn't a lot of concrete here. I didn't feel a line pump was needed for a couple reasons. One, the cost of it and two, haveing to deal with the clean-out afterwards.
If you want to learn how to do curved stamped concrete walkways like this one, join The Concrete Underground below and I can help you with my training videos about concrete.

My back hurts just watching you guys. Great job!
When coming off a step with a curved sidewalk it is best to have the first 18” straight then start your curve.
25:38 This looked like a scene from a Benny Hill skit! 😂
Hello Mike
Really enjoyed the regular motion video. Too many videos out there that time -lapse when pouring. I think the people enjoy this way much better.
Must have Venice to have that shade.
We are 99-103 in central Texas everyday now, so you know we have to hustle.
Great looking sidewalk
Thank you for sharing.
Thanks for commenting and stay cool.
great video and you have some great guys - hello from NH
The homeowner should have stained/painted his patio step prior to your concrete job. You job is always the best!
Hell yes! I heard back in the day people use to work for free or very little to learn the trades! I cant thank you enough that you keep giving out all your knowledge for free! Thank you mike day! I hope lifes going great on your end!
25:23 doing the Concrete Jig, ha ha ha""" Liked#23 N Subscribed!!!
looks like art work to me
Hey Mike, next time can we see your skills on the wheelbarrow?
Another great video Mike. Do you ever do exposed aggregate sidewalks?
Nice job
nice clip, stay busy. what is the name of the jointer, walking groover? color yellow.
The Home Depot bending boards are never strong enough. What brand did you use for this job? By the way great job
What liquid release spray are you using, and what do you use to add color to it? Powder or liquid color? Brand of color? Thanks.
Is that a cure and seal or just a sealer? I thought you had to wait 3-4 weeks before sealing unless you use the cure and seal.
Nice work
Do you have any recommendations of companys in the Atlanta area that do good concrete work?
Looks great! Nice work!
May I ask what u used for the darker tint in the release spray?
We use charcoal powder release and mix it in the clear liquid release, about a cup to 2 gallons
What are you using for the form boards?
Too bad he couldn't just go on the grass ? That cement truck would have ruined the lawn maybe ?
What a laugh. Nothing about concrete is "easy"...........
i dont wanna play anymore. come on dont quit its the 7th inning stretch. idc. then take your helmet off and go sit on the bench. yea i can only dream of owning a house that big. oh stop it we have the dream team matter of fact... whens aunt rachy coming? stop yelling across the field the other team can read lips... our intel team specializes in turning dreams into reality, heres my card if you wanna buy a house,,, if u cant finish the game you signed up for your not going shopping... you think rach is giving you a ride home, well see about that....
if you think aunt rachy has the answer to all your problems, you must be mistaken me for somebody else..... when she gets here well see who takes you home, smart ass
This videos are boring now rather watch victory then this
If concrete is entertaining that means it was done wrong, concrete is meant to be boring “do it right the first time” and then go home and have some beers
I guess it would be boring to some. I like seeing a job come together and end in something. I do body work. Seeing a vehicle come in crashed, pulling everything back out, repairing or replacing everything, painting it and watching it leave looking like nothing ever happened is satisfying. I couldn't sit at a desk never seeing the product of my work. This "boring" video... they started in the morning, sat everything up, poured and finished it and get to stand back and admire their work at the end of the day.
Mike, you guys need a power buggies to pour those sidewalks that you do or rent one for a couple of days if you are doing sidewalks to make it less hard on the guys backs.
He mentioned he couldn't get a buggie that day.
In that business he should own one from him self or a small bobcat skid steer with tracks with a cement bucket on the front…….as you can see with the sidewalk there’s already topsoil being spread up against it when they’re done…what’s a little more topsoil and seed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!what’s the price of back surgery these days 30 $40,000 ?????????how long are you out of work???????? maybe never go back to work,,,, maybe never be able to bend over and tie your shoes again,,,, stop saving the money and spend it and buy a piece of equipment make your life easier Samuel bacon
Great stuff guys, love watching people work. My lesson in concreting is that it's a team effort just like a lot of other activities.
Love your channel.
Absolutely!
Nice job as always Mike !
Congratulations on such a beautiful pavement! Your tutorial was a big help. I also work with similar pavements and consider them true works of art. I subscribed to your channel and invite you to see my stamped concrete creations.
the one guy had a little accident there with the wheelbarrel
I used to think I was strong until I tried to wheelbarrow concrete.
Widen your stance and keep your knees bent works every time
I M not a fan of narrow walkways/sidewalks. Give me 72" , that 42" crap gets old fast.
Hey Mike did you use a 4 slump on this job ????plz lmk....
Outstanding Mike 👍🏼👍🏼
Did you regret that you didn't put colour in the mix?
where you out of?
What are your thoughts on staining concrete? I have to pour a new driveway next to an older, existing concrete walkwat that has been stamped and dyed, to eliminate a poor color blend, I felt like doing a regular broomed driveway pour, and then staining both areas with the same stain would be the best approach... Glad I found your channel! You and Odell are legends! :)
Try a product called Revive from deco-cretesupply.com it'll blend everything to look the same
Good job
You need 2 more workers.
Once again a beautiful pour, skreed, trowel and cut job.
However, that stamp you used is one of the ugliest and least realistic ones I have ever seen.
Randomly cut stones that all fit together with no variation in grout line widths. It looks cheap .
Invest in a realistic looking slate or flagstone and get a finish that shows your talent and attention to detail and you might get more stamp (big money) jobs/year.
