- In this 2 part series, I show you how I paint a LM Bass from start to finish. This happens to be my wife's personal best largemouth at 10lbs 11oz and I came out of retirement just long enough to do it for her.

Just wanted to say these fish reproduction videos are awesome. Its hard to find resources on starting replicas, so I'm happy to have found your channel
Working on a largemouth bass reproduction myself, I couldn't have done it without your help. Thank you.
Glad I was some help to you. Thanks
Nice to see you back at it! Your Muskie painting video was one of the first videos I watched 11 years ago when I first started woodcarving fish!
Thank you
Thank you for your awesome video's! Can't wait for more!
Thank you for sharing. It's always nice to watch a master at work.
Thank you for your kind words.
Awesome
Thanks
awesome, thank you
Glad you enjoyed it. Hope you learned a little something.
Hi Kevin,
Hey, nice work. Just watched the bass videos and will be watching more. I'll use some of your info and tips to finish up 12# replica bass for my spoonplugging Flordia buddy. Thank You!! Brent in Michigan
Thank you for watching!
I've done a ton of skin mounts. Have a little pattern to follow. It's amazing how you painted black and sanded to make awesome scale pattern. Love it. Gonna give this a try on a skin mount. Good job buddy
Glad you liked it, although I paint most skin mounts differently than replicas.
awesome love your work Kevin, id love to see a trout video
Perhaps in the future...
Nice paint schedule
Was the antique prosses supposed to be 5 parts rich brown to 2 parts sailfish blue?
Thank you for this video! It’s so hard to find Quality contact on painting replicas!! If I may ask what type of airbrush tip is that your using to tip the scales on the lower half?
I'm using a badger renegade and whatever tip came with it. Only because I sold my favorite airbrushes when I retired.
Hey man any tips on skin mounts first one ever?
I did a video series on skin mounting a LM Bass, check it out:

What air brush would you recommend for a beginner looking to get into fish replicas
Hard to say as I haven't been in the airbrush market for a while, but I like the Paasche H single action for broad spraying & have had good luck with the Badger Renegade for detail work.
Where did you get the mold of the bass?
From Ken Bauman Taxidermy. I mention this in my first video on preparing this fish to paint if you missed it. ua-cam.com/video/PDv_oFJyDk4/v-deo.html
What airbrush were you using?
Paasche H for broad spraying and Badger Renegade for detail.
