What an unexpected treat, Murray! Such fabulous scenery and the amazing 'hut' where you could break your journey...... as well as seeing a younger Gerry! I love where he said the Bishorn had got higher since he was last there. A video very well put together, as always Murray. Thank you!
I've been to that hut a few years ago. Wanted to summit the Bishorn but I didnt have the proper gear and didnt want to risk anything... I'm dreaming of going back but i'm battling cancer at the moment so it'll have to wait at least another year. But one day I'll stand on that summit! I loved this video, keeps me dreaming! Love from Belgium!
What an epic adventure! Scaling a 4000m peak in the Swiss Alps sounds incredible. The Swiss Alps are such a magical place - I absolutely love it there. Your journey looks both challenging and rewarding. Thanks for sharing - really enjoyed following along on your adventure. Looking forward to see more of your mountain escapades! Cheers, Simon - Tales From Abroad
Absolutely spectacular. Glad I waited to see this on the TV. Superb footage and fantastic adventure. Something I have never done. The path to the hut looked good till the snow. Well done to you all and a great watch.
Thanks - the hut was amazing , such a grand location looking out over all those 4000m mountains - a special place to be :) Thanks for watching Tab Murray
WHATTT? No scotch eggs for y'all at the grocery store? The horror. Loved seeing the pic of "vintage" Gerry, haha! I'm sorry you had to experience cheyne-stokes breathing, that's not fun and not a good feeling. My cousin recently traveled and visited, among many places, Aiguille Du Midi. She developed hypoxia and had to head back down bc of the low oxygen. Wow, wow, wow, the views at 4:33, 16:42, 17:56, and 19:20. Kinda leaves you with no words, and you got some phenomenal pics out of it, too. Regarding the snoring, I'd bet it was all of y'all! Ahhh, to be able to relax with some beers at the end of the trip, wonderful. Great vid Murray, thanks so much! 👋
Thanks Kristin - I too was amazed at the lack of scotch eggs in Switzerland - I feel there is a massive business oppotunity there for someone!!lol ;) Loads of Tobelrone though ;) Thanks for watching ATB Murray
@@ScotlandsMountains Hahaha you may very well be on to something there! Maybe someone will see this and take note? But did ya have to mention toblerone? Now you've got me craving one 😂
Switzerland is such a beautiful country! I was at the Matterhorn 20 years ago just as a tourist, photographer. I went up on the Gornergrat railway, much easier than what you guys had to do. Well done guys! Spectacular scenery!
What an achievement. Good to see the mountain huts still doing well. Di a 10 day treck round the Stubai Alps in Austria about 30 years ago, going from mountain hut to mountain hut. Never Kew I snored before that trek!
Wonderful photography , beautiful scenery and what a luxurious “ hut”! Great adventure, well done all three and thanks for taking us along. With you, Murray. Loved it. ❤😊👏
Totally superb Murray. That took me right back to my alpine climbing days over in the Bernese Oberland. I remember those dreaded alpine starts! Thanks for bringing us along, those alpine huts are brilliant.
Spectacular, thank you Murray, Gerry, Fraser, still think Scotland is more beautiful though 😊 saying that one day I would love to see alpine scenery in real life. Gerry cannae be that old if he can get all the way up there...
An excellent video thanks Murray. What an incredible location. Such awesome scenery. The climb looked tough and It made good sense to take some time out before climbing the final leg. The team did well. Thanks for taking us along on the adventure.
Thankyou for sharing the video Murray, the Alps are fantastic. We did the Tour du Mont Blanc when I was 23, now 58, special memories, just like all your videos.
Great to see this video! I came back from Zinal literally 2 days ago. Haven't done any 4000m peaks but still quite a few lovely hikes there. My longest walk was Zinal (about 1700m) to Grand Mountet Hut (2886m) and back in one day which is 10km one way and 1200m vert. Wonderful view on different glaciers from there. Also quite a few great walks in nearby Grimnitz including the hike to the Moiry Hut or Moiry Dam via ferrata for a change.
That was awesome guys well done the views were spectacular, that was so lovely to watch, going to do a re run tomorrow my usual night, thank you for filming it for us Murray awesome video wooooohooo
Absolutely brilliant Murray. Wow what a climb. No wonder you were all knackered when you got to the hut. I don't think i would be able to do that one. No chance lol. Stunning view's and great image's as usual mate. Glad you all got back safe. Catch you on the next one mate.
What an enjoyable video. So glad the weather was in your favor. The views were sensational. Glad it was a successful adventure. Cheers to all of you. 🫶🍺🍺🍺
Ooow what a treat, l enjoyed the last trip you did to the Alps, so this was a nice surprise. Well done lads that was a great climb, and hard work. The hut you stayed in looked so nice. Amazing views. Love how Gerry reels off the names. Glad youre home safe, thanks for taking us along....Alioban ❤
What a stunning location and well worth the effort. I've been up above 4,000m in Nepal on a trek, but it took several days walking to gain that height going gradually higher each day. The side effects of acclimatization were really minimal. You've gained that height in a couple of days, no wonder it hit you! Great effort all round.
What an adventure! Was at the Bishorn last year but there was a lot of less snow that time of year. Glad you got to the top, it was actually snowing when we were doing the summit push so we didn't get most of the views. As always, amazing photos and footage. Cheers.
Enjoyrd your latest alpine adventure Murray. Great to see the Bishorn again. I climbed this peak back in 1999, the day after we'd reached summit of the Pigne d'Arolla. Scenery is outstanding in that part of Switzerland. If you get the chance i recommend the hike to the Cabane de Grande Mountet. The drive from Arolla to Zinal woukd be an epic start to your day. I remember the climb up to the hut being a huge effort. Surprisingly, the Swiss mountain guide we hired took ill during the ascent of the Bishorn glacier and left us to finish the ascent ourselves. At least we got a discount on his fee! ATB Derek

Fantastic video, Murray! It's a refreshing addition to the channel. I loved climbing the Scottish hills, but once I visited the Alps, I was hooked-what an incredible place! However, the Alps do demand a higher level of fitness to fully appreciate them. I appreciate the effort you put into bringing all the video gear to the summit so we can enjoy the stunning views from our sofas. Wishing you all the best! P.S. I hope you can take more trips abroad and share some new destinations with us.
