- Initial testing of all the tweeters, midranges, and woofers to see what all needs to be done to get these Cerwin-Vega! 316Rs back to sounding as good or even better than new.
Looks like we got some work to do. Glad these are in good hands!
Hi,
to avoid overload, decrease the sensitivity (the button above Mic. Power Supply). Increase the "Input full scale" to 10 or 20 dBV if necessary. In any case, usually is best to measure impedance with same level, for ex. 2,83V and adjust Input scale.
Best regards
Looking forward to the other half of the video to see how those woofers test out and what you're going to be doing with them.
Would you be able to offer some help with parameters and or crossovers for D-3, D-5 as well as the HED U-321, more specifically, have you ever tested the parameters of a L121-4 or a 101-W2 out of the D-5 and D-3? Trying to get them restored, or replacement woofers as close to matching as possible given the D-3 and U-321 didn't come with factory woofers, and the D-5s had a terrible re-cone job done and were none functional as well.
Let me know if you can help, thanks man.
Actually, the blue bass driver is perfect!
It has very low Fs and very high impedance on the resonant frequency. The higher and steep impedance means, it has very strong magnetic field and possible very low Qes, and Qts accordingly. This is very good.
Please, if you can, measure the full TS parameters.
Keep what you doing!
The spider is completely sagged out on it, so the coil is sitting too far down into the gap.
@@SavingVegas But the impedance looks much smoother.
Anyway, if you can measure the TS parameters we might have full picture.
The red bass driver, looks more damaged, or the second bump on the resonant curve, is some reflection from the standing table.
Great content as always 👍 what is your opinion on the SL-45C center channel speaker? Worth the $ ?
I haven't had a chance to listen to that center speaker yet. I would imagine it would be on par with the rest of the SL series. Most people seem to like them. They aren't like the older models that could hit high SPL with lower wattage amplifiers.
@@SavingVegas- it would be interesting to see you do a review on it.
