Amen. My father left us when I was about 8 and never so much as looked back. Years later I called him just to make up for lost time and he played it off as if he didn't even know me. But I was able to establish a relationship with my Father in heaven that I never got to have with my father on earth and God has made all the difference. The part that gets me is at 3:00 when he realizes it is his dad and he breaks down, truly amazing moment when no one in the stadium matters other then these two. A tremendous moment showing the bond between father and son. Incredible...
I was watching a sermon by Billy Graham, and I took this brave athlete and his father as an example of thoughtfulness and strength of decision; to finish the journey, no matter how painful it was and the truth is I couldn't stand the tears, I had never seen it.
What a unique father, seeing this scene moved me; I am going through a very difficult emotional trance, and this really made me reconsider and think about how wonderful Jesus Christ is, that is why whoever reads this I urge you to follow him because in him you will find the answer to his problem; Thank you Lord because you use pain to give joy of life to those of us who seek from you, but we always close ourselves in our vain way of thinking. I've watched every winter/summer games since 1972. I watched that race 400 m race live.. I lost control of my emotions. Very few moments in sports have made me that way.... The Womens' 1984 marathon with Andersen-Schiess , 1996 and Kerri Strug's guts , The 1980 Men's Olympic hockey team.... If you haven't witnessed those performances live, then you missed something VERY special.....
