That wouldn't explain why he only has the ice attribute. If the attribute is hereditary then that means he has an atribute from both parents not just 1. However he only has the ice attribute.

The difference is ice is solid and fire isnt his ice attacks can pack more of a punch with weight and aditional tricks whereas fire either needs to be amped up to blue flames expanded in AoE or added explosive to do good.
