WOW! Shocking to see how much Tech I, and I'm sure, many others own. Just goes to show me that diversification between several funds or ETF's is not necessarily diversifying at all!!
Excellent Jessica. Appreciate you and Nick so much. Always helpful integrating your advice with other inputs to building options trades. Thanks again; please carry on here!
Thanks, Jessica. I was shocked that Meta and Alphabet make up 40% of the communication services sector. Explains why I am never a fan of these sector-based investing strategies. As a semiconductor engineer, I own a lot of semi stocks, so if tech crashes I am cooked. But it is ok. However, I don't think FWD PE of 40 for Nvidia is going to do any good because they most likely cannot sustain a 40% growth. So some caution there is probably better. I think there are some good tech companies in China and eventually they would turn things around. Maybe 5% allocation is a good bet.
Thank you for watching and for your thoughts! Tech can be volatile and require a strong stomach. We just did a lot of work on Chinese tech stocks and they're now trading entirely independent of US tech. Whether that's a feature or a bug is up to you.
I love all of your content, Jessica; you and Nick are killing it. What you say long investing timeline ( horizon), How many years are we talking about? I hear this thrown around often, but no one ever defines what long-term means to them. I'd appreciate your response if you have time.
Thank you so much, your support means a lot to us! And great question. I'm 30 so I have at least a 30 year time horizon, but of course people's mileage may vary :)
Love this!! I went all in big tech in 2011. Have trickled in some disruptor over the years. Uber. SE(ouch!) Btc etfs. Been quite good for me. Costco is the closest thing I own to a value stock😅 and my 40% " bond" allocation is SPYG , XLKand SCHG!! No regrets. Zero plans to diversify! Thank you for the wonderful content!
@@NickColasandJessicaRabe Found you guys through Josh. It's really great, the amount of helpful information available on UA-cam. It's a far from the 1999 boom, when "stock analysts" would tell you why Yahoo was worth 3x what it was really worth, hyping what they wanted you to buy because they held those stocks.
This is great stuff, thanks Jessica. A very thoughtful deep dive that provides clarity on the stark differences in the equity indices opportunity set. On the international side, that was a helpful illustration of sector composition as a key driver of returns vs simply geography.
Hi Jessica, curious (in time) as what you might start to consider a "long" investment horizon, e.g. > 5 years, or > 10 years, > or 15 years, etc. - or am I thinking "too long" here?
Perhaps it is because I am French But I don’t really understand how many tech stocks I should own? I think there is 5 questions 1. Does tech lead the economy in the next 5 years: YES 2. Does the hype on AI reach now a top? Or very near… probably 3. If you buy now tech, should u buy mag7 only and if not what is the ponderation? 4. Health is also a tech now 😂 what is the place in your portfolio for 2025 and pondering SP500 health and nasdaq biotech if it could rally soon 5. And it is a corollaire: AI has the potential of transforming each sector in a more technical sector And That could be a reason to be bullish even on equally weighted SP500 Finally, I am ok with the SOXX engineer: I like china and KWEB Look Deepseek Perhaps 2025 could be the rally of Asia Tech…. In bullish trend money is in the waiting The next dip could be a good QQQ refilling
Sold out of MAG 7 last year, decided to go look for companies that have the ability to scale up to 500B-1T plus in market cap over the next 10-20 years rather than go with the narrative Tesla and Nvidia will be worth 20 trillion lol In that scenario they literally would be better off in their own index and we know growth slows and it shifts over a long period of time as do economic and technological cycles.
I own a shovel, wheelbarrow, hoe, file, handsaw, spoon, fork, knife, and chair, among many other life-changing technologies. Contrary to popular belief and modern teaching, technology did not begin with the iPhone.
Great info as always. It's even more impressive to have done this video in one take.

There are also equal weight sector funds or momentum factor sector funds instead of cap-weighted sector funds.
Great video!
Just FYI audio is only coming out of one side of the headphones.

Many investors would say long term is 10+ years. Buffett would say long term is forever. He made most of his money after age 70.

Tech and fixed income. Polar opposite’s that trade the same.
