In today’s video, we show that the S&P 500 Tech sector (ETF symbol XLK) and Nasdaq 100 (QQQ) have, on average, outperformed Berkshire Hathaway by 4.3-5.0 percentage points over any given year back to 2010. That’s because they leverage disruptive innovation rather than rely on exposure to more traditional industries. BRK sometimes outperforms, but that’s when Financial and/or value stocks rebound or rates rise quickly. The upshot: History shows adding Tech-based indices benefits a diversified portfolio already holding BRK over the long-term.
