Sorry but how amazing is this? Professionals in the gaming industry doing all of this, their own time and effort just to interact with fans. Cant overestimate how special this is.

I think what I love most about the Nightsong scene is that it’s 100% Shadowheart’s scene. You’re there for moral support, but it’s not about you, it’s not a matter of you fixing her or redeeming her or guiding her to the light. It’s her scene, her choice, her true nature coming through seemingly to her own surprise. Aylin’s line says it all: “Not what will happen to you; what will you do?” She’s always been free to choose her own path; this is just the first time she’s realised it.
Also, a pet theory of mine: that prophecy, “Unshackled from shadows, she will rise in moonlit glory and carve a path of brightness to the accursed one’s second death” - it’s not referring to Aylin, but to someone else who’s broken free from Shar’s grasp to take the fight to Ketheric. Prophecies are never fulfilled quite as expected, after all.
I keep seeing people saying things to the effect of “I want to get Shadowheart approvals, but but she only approves when you say good things about Shar and I want to bring her to the side of light.”
It makes it so clear that they’re missing a big part of the point. She doesn’t need you to convince her that her goddess is evil, she needs you to show her that love and kindness are real and she is able to experience them. It’s so much more important to be patient and understanding with her, giving her a confidant without pushing her. She’ll do the hard part herself. Interestingly, it’s actually pretty textbook cult de-programming. Phenomenal writing as always.
And yeah, that prophecy is definitely directly about Aylin, but it’s Shadowheart’s story too.
Favourite Aylin line - that wasn’t even read out and has since been lost for some reason. There’s a letter you get from the lovely Moon Lesbians, where Isobel says ‘Aylin sends her regards’ and then Aylin has added in all caps ‘IT IS I, DAME AYLIN! I SEND MY REGARDS!’ I can hear that in my mind.
Are you referring to the Epilogue? If so I also remembering that letter being missing on my second play-through.

FYI. The whole Dame Aylin acting "weird" in Lorroakan's tower is actually supposed to be a reference to trauma and PTSD. Her specific line when the player character asks if she is alright there is to blame it on "paladin's fatigue", which is a play off of "warrior's fatigue", a phrase used to describe PTSD in soldiers before modern psychology existed. The more modern term that more people will recognize is the term "Shell-shocked", which became more prevalent and essentially replaced the term warrior's fatigue due to warfare switching to using guns and explosive artillery instead of swords and bows.
Remember the context of the scene this takes place in. Lorroakan essentially wants to do the same thing to Dame Aylin that Ketheric Thorm did to her for an entire century: keep her bound and held hostage in order to artificially extend his life. The point of her having such a visceral reaction (and subsequently passing it off as just "paladin's fatigue") is that she is essentially having a PTSD fueled panic attack/rage and is either incapable of recognizing it or is too proud to admit to it and is thus unwilling to acknowledge it. It's sort of a tragic implication that despite her being this immortal badass warrior, she's still at the end of the day just as capable of feeling mental scars and wounds from trauma as anyone else. It's basically an example of "hey folks, don't be too proud to ask for help from others" type thing.
Not sure if you ever got an answer A- gender euphoria is a phrase commonly used by trans people to talk about the positive feeling of having their gender affirmed. It can be from things like wearing a dress or binder, getting correctly gendered, a good haircut, etc. It can also be fun silly things like being taller/shorter than other people, being described as “just a little guy”, or being told you have a pelvis. Cis people can have gender euphoria too, it’s just not talked about as much, like how men don’t talk about having pelvises (they don’t /j)

I'm all in for the Moon Lesbians - I don't care that it means parts of the game remain locked (that's what UA-cam is for) but I'm not letting them fall. I love the writing, love the animations, love the performance.

@@jakecassar6554 It's kind of hard to describe without being all spoilery but for sure choices made through the game mean that cut scenes in particular get locked out. I know, for example, there is a *gorgeous* cut scene in Act 3 with Dame Aylin that I will never see because I won't do what is required to trigger it to play. I also know I won't see Shadowheart's Act 3 "romance" scene if the choice is made to kill Aylin. I know the scene but I don't want it to happen. Is that necessarily a huge difference on the over all narrative of the complete game? Not really. But that bit is locked for me. That's kind of what I was trying to get at.
I find it mind-blowing that Larian Studios invested so much time/labour/money in full voiced, mo-capped and scored sequences that so many people will not see, but which exist to serve a story that is only potential every time a new save is started - and a great example to use in any debate with anyone who questions video games as an artform. If you're just in it for the money, you trim the fat - like scenes most players don't see.

As a lesbian from Taiwan, I am thrilled to see lesbian couple streamers because such streamers are quite rare in Taiwan and even across Asia. Despite the fact that Taiwan's LGBTQ+ movement and education have been progressing for decades, and this year marks the fifth anniversary of the legalization of same-sex marriage in Taiwan, I sometimes still encounter uncomfortable comments in the chat or find the conversation topics too "heteronormative," even in streams that are friendly to the LGBTQ+ community.
Your stream is the first one where I feel truly comfortable and at ease. I've had so much fun watching your streams, and I'm really grateful for that. Also, a big thank you to Larian Studios for creating the amazing game BG3 and for bringing to life the lovely and charming lesbian couple, Aylin and Isobel.
One of my favorite scenes in BG3 is when Aylin transforms; no matter when I see it, I can't help but rewatch it several times because it's so magnificent and breathtaking. However, my favorite part of BG3 is still Shadowheart's storyline, including her character development and journey of self-discovery, along with the ending of the White Shadowheart story. It's rare for a game to move me to tears; the last time was probably with Assassin's Creed: Black Flag (I really miss that era of Ubisoft). But when I saw the conclusion of Shadowheart's story, I couldn't hold back my tears.
BTW, I'm considering turning Shadowheart into a Dark Justiciar in my third playthrough, but I really can't bear to have her kill Aylin and do everything Shar demands of her, so I'm still struggling with the decision.
There's a saying, "Our past defines who we are now and who we will be in the future." I think Shadowheart's determination to complete Shar's mission before ACT 3, despite her doubts, was her way of defining herself because she had almost forgotten her past and only had Shar's beliefs to hold on to. When she "betrayed" Shar, she lost the one thing that defined her, and I believe she feared losing herself and her direction more than she feared Shar's and her followers' retribution. Watching Shadowheart grow from the despair in ACT 2 to the resolution in ACT 3 made me feel honored to have chosen to develop a relationship with her and become one of her pillars of support. I feel privileged that my Tav could accompany Shadowheart in finding her new self. In my heart, Shadowheart is the most charismatic and impactful main character in BG3, and this is all thanks to John's brilliant writing and your perfect performances and directing.
Discovering BG3 and seeing your streams are among the luckiest things that have happened to me. Thank you again!!

Great stream guys! I mentioned some build advice for Ver during the stream but not sure if you saw it. I'm currently playing a bard in my honor mode playthrough and wanted to try a hand crossbow build. One thing that is super helpful is multi classing 2 levels into fighter. The first level you can get Archery fighting style which gives you +2 to ranged attack rolls and the second level you get action surge. Also, if you do respec then you should set dex to 8 since you have the gloves, I know Jen mentioned lowering dex for that reason but you might as well go all the way to 8 since anything higher than that is wasting ability points. I know you guys play more for the story so feel free to ignore this I just wanted to share in case anyone was interested.

Great stream/video. Sadly, I caught only a bit of it live, so really nice the vod is here. As far as I'm concerned, the gameplay in this 'episode' really shows how the performance of actual actors elevates the gaming experience and IMO it's a large part of why BG3 has been such a hit with players.

Excellent stream. One day I will be able to catch one live. I must say as a 5'11" woman, I tend to feel more awkward than powerful when around shorter folks. I think it's why in games where I can customize my character, I often create shorter characters. I made one of my characters in the Final Fantasy 14 MMO so short that when characters talk to her, all you see is the countertop and her pony tail just barely poking above it, hahaha
I don't often get to watch live, so I'm glad I got to catch part of this one (since it was SO good!) but watching the VODs is actually so useful for me because I constantly find myself pausing to collect myself😅or skip back to rewatch a particularly epic or wholesome part - particularly today!😊(Nevermind the ADHD struggle of trying to focus on the game, chat, or the reactions of all that talent sitting there). I never tire of seeing J&A's reactions to SH scenes, their guests, or just to each other♥All the love to you both!

If Mia and Helen played a co-op dark urge run it would be amazing.
If you want to reload back to Yurgir you will then have to redo *everything* that happened afterwards. It is sadly impossible to load back to an old save to change one spesific thing and then go back to the most recent save again with the change intact.

Correct me if im wrong, shat, but I think they didn't click on Shadowheart for the dialogue post-mausoleum? It looked like it was automatic... So basically Ver didn't come up to Shadowheart, but Shadowheart came up to Ver. Since this is the part of the game where you choose your one partner, this means that this is the point Shadowheart starts trusting you deeply, just like you trust her to do the right thing inside the sanctum. I can only imagine how hard it was for Shart to confide in someone like that and how insense all of the game's events were to her, including her romance with Tav, for her to change her destiny like that. She's been through a lot.
