I agree. Showing us Jinx listening to Ekko and changing from being s**cidal, to having a new lease on life would not have been “rehashing what was shown”. I’d argue leaving that out adds to the rushed feeling of the ending. In the end it’s a minor nit pick. Arcane is such an incredibly well told story that they can afford to cut some corners and leave things up to our imaginations. If they had the budget for more episodes, they 100% would’ve added more to that scene.
Honestly I just think they didn’t expect people to love Timebomb as much as they do. All we can hope is that they release more content giving us what we want in the future, now that they’ve seen the fandom explode with this lol. No question whether it’d be a moneymaker!
They probably didn't expect people to be as invested in their story as they were which is probably why they came to that conclusion at the time but I think after the season released they saw just how much people loved that relationship which led to link saying they wanna continue their story going forward
To say that they've "deliberately" left it to the audience's "imagination" is nasty work omfg. "We've spent so much time with them" and the THEM being an AU are they stupid? Also, why tf are they saying these things about timebomb in DMS, interviews, even in the gdamn artbook but we never see any of their potential development in the series??? Why do I have to imagine the process between when they try to kill each other and when they become friends or maybe lovers? Am I playing a fucking souls game? Also, we didn't spent much time with them in e7. We spent time with Ekko and that universe's Powder that we don't know shit about, that we don't know or encounter how they become lovers. That's not our Jinx whom we sympathize. The only purpose e7 serves is for Ekko not to give up on Jinx. I mean, at least we should have seen the process Ekko try to save Jinx from commiting suicide. Like he doesn't save her with one sentence, right? "It's never too late to build something new. " "Yeah, you're right, fuck it, I'm in, Let's paint each other." It's not like that, right.
What if they left these scenes out because they are planning to continue their story in the future? With all fandom around them they kind of have to right? If their time together is left to our imagination it will build more hype until the moment we see them again in the future even if that is years and years down the line. The impact of bringing them back in the future will hit harder when we don't know what happened between them before the war in arcane. I think the reason timebomb is so loved of fans is because of this reason. It feels unfinished in a way because it is you know? Their story is not over, atleast that's what I think. Let them cook! They said in an interview that Jinx and Ekko's relationship was a story they were interested in continuing in the future so that is likely the case right now. Tbh it's good that they don't show them falling in love in episode 9 because it wouldn't make a lot of sense for Ekko to immediately start being all lovey-dovey with the person that's killed many of the people he cares about and has tried to kill him on multiple occasions too (even considering timebomb and all the other factors). Give them some time apart for Jinx/Powder to heal and change, then reintroduce that plotline in a future series.
yes sure, I did mention in the past that they could still use those scenes but at the same time they left a lot for the audience to imagine, 2 more scenes where Ekko tells her about the other timeline and brings her to the firelight tree would've been great, the rest could be left to the imagination of the audience and added as flashbacks in the upcoming continuation
@@RyftStudios Agreed. It's similar to the scenes they left out in S1 of Ekko going to rescue powder from Silco and her not wanting to. Seeing how Jinx went from suicide to confident badass would have been incredible. I cannot even begin to imagine how you would write the scene/s out to create such a shift in attitude and mentality. A lot of things were left to the imagination at the end of this season, it doesn't mean that they weren't important, it just means that they didn't have time to develop. Many things outside the show indicate that they are willing to make timebomb a thing and they can develop their relationship in the future.
I think those scenes would not have matched the tempo of the show. The stories of the other relationships were finishing, but Timebomb was only half-cooked and out of time. Amanda's message implies that Jinx would have kissed Ekko. In order to make an emotional impact on the viewer, a scene like that needs to happen more than two episodes after his kiss with alternate universe Powder. In the case of Jinx she validates herself through silco and later on through isha, and powder does that through ekko and her siblings. Their mentality and psyche are diferente not because they are different or have different problems, but because their society allowed them to face these problems in different ways. Jinx mental health is so much worse than the alternate powder, even if the two of them have basically the same trauma (Powder blames herself for vi's death that's why she is so angry when ekko questions it), because her society pushed her to the brink in every particular aspect of her life.
She should totally stop engaging with the audience, fandom ends up being a dark place UA-cam is bad enough but I can only imagine what's happening on twitter and the more writers talk the more negative fuel it end up giving I side of the fandom because fandoms are always divided as is the Arcane fandom. So to keep herself safe and boundaries in place so she doesn't get bombarded with questions or worse she should just stop responding for her own sake and for the sake of the fandom. If people could be normal then this would be great but all I hear is danger danger danger.
yeah, people can be freaks
Dude, this ship sucks so much.
I hate being a timebomber 🥲
