Samsung Galaxy S25+ after Two Weeks: Time to forget about the Ultra!

- I might have my problems with Samsung this, and I don't agree with what the company gives you for the price. However, I can still admit this is a good phone and the best choice for many people walking into their carrier stores, looking to add a phone to their monthly payment. Because what other choice do they have? Especially if they are Samsung fans.

If you're in a position where you HAVE to buy a new Samsung in 2025, the Galaxy S25+ is your best option now more than ever over the Ultra.
@@StevealiciousTech will you do a review on the s25 edge when it gets released?
My S22 ultra broke down and i took S25+ and I'm lovin it
Currently sitting on the s22 and struggling to decide if I upgrade or not
This dude laid out exactly why i went with the S25+. Its the absolute best phone i was going to get from T-Mobile while trading in my old oneplus 10 pro.
It was a literal swap. They got the oneplus. I got the S25+. Zero increase to my bill.
They took a OnePlus?? That's strange.
@@davidbrown6137 my oneplus 10 pro was the last oneplus they offered. I'm sure it was on the list simply for that reason
@@cronoesify good for you. I recall going in their store only to check out the OP devices. My OP 13 is sooo much better than my s25+. Samsung can't even touch the OP photo quality now. I bought both just to compare side-by-side. Glad I'm still within the return window for the s25+. In fact, the OP13 doesn't even seem like the same company that put out the OP10. And I've had each OP since the 6t McLaren.
@@davidbrown6137 that OP10 was a legitimately bad phone long run.
@@cronoesify the OP13 camera results a even better than my P9P. The P9P can't even get the color of neon signs right. So sad.
Upgraded my wife from the S23 base to the S25+ for only $275 which seems like a fantastic move.
Got my s25 plus in coral red best color option imo for this year model. Snapdragon elite is no joke notice the speed difference right away.
You male or female, no offence but i got the coral red too and not happy with it since its more to pink.
yeah, the same question: if you male or female? I wanted to get this color, but changed my mind before ordering and got myself S25+ navy - such cool color as well. Coralred seems to be too bright for men.
@@manoshkumar838 unsolicited but I am a woman and I find the CoralRed leans between a hot pink or orange dominant color depending on the lighting & I LOVE it.
@@yurikostin6172 its super bright, kind of pink & orange hence the "coral" and as a woman I am completely satisfied. But, because it is still red central, I dont believe its "too feminine" of a color for a man. Just bright.
@ Thanks for the reply! Good to know!
Another great video. I myself love the vivid display. Yet whenever i cracked it up the battery on my s25U plummeted compared to the day before, when I had it on natural. I have to admit once i put a glass screen protector on i am liking the display better. I still love the beautiful colors & display on my s22U more. Now to the point of the video. I seriously love the plus version of Samsung. The weight & feel in the hand is understated. If i didn't get a s22+ basically brand new 6 months ago id have bought the plus this year. When i look at the s25U it reminds me of a supersized plus version.
Agreed!
The screen improved with a glass screen protector??
I'm in love with this phone. I preordered it.
I think you did great on words here, my friend. If OP was at carriers, they would be crushing it right now. But they are not. I personally had rather have an S23 ultra or an OP 12/13. As a matter of fact, i am upgrading from my S21 ultra to a 23 or 12. Last 10 months for software support on the S21, unfortunately. My S21 ultra is one of the best phones i have ever owned. ❤
@@bradleyswaney6100 they were at carriers and something happened where T-Mobile either dropped them or vice versa. I think they were even at VZW for while. Brand recognition and loyalty are huge hurdles to overcome.
This could be very nice and tempting upgrade for the die hard S21 Ultra lovers amongst us!
I upgraded to the S25+ from a S21, I really like it a lot. With trade in I got it free from TMobile. The blue is gorgeous. I never considered the Ultra.
The oneplus 13 gives u freedom via fast charging instead of never settle they could also use Ready when you are...
Fast charging is underrated my s20+ took hours to charge now I only have to wait 15-20min and I'm ready to move on.
It's slow charging. And don't get me wrong, people should buy an OP13 if they can, but plenty won't be able to.
@StevealiciousTech buying samsung is clearly no option just some minutes ago I watched a repair shop guy here on UA-cam who said that in his opinion samsung uses designed obsolescence so people have to buy a new phone.
He described a essential part of samsung phones made to break easily so the charging stops working reliable...that's exactly the vibe I'm getting from the 25 ultra and the overall behaviour of samsung something really messed up is happening at this company
Fast charging is a company respecting your time in a way it becomes a asset not a liability especially for people who really need their phone.
Would be interesting to have a test run between phones for a company that charge fast and one that don't and see the synergy effects over a year being more flexible could mean more profit and peace of mind...get the sense this could bring extra revenue
so i heard s25 series had some overheating issues, notice any ? cuz im still divided between s25 ultra s25+ or vivo x200 pro
It does make sense for people that love Samsung although it's still a tough battle with the OnePlus 13 which still undercuts it on price. But as a sheer value proposition for most people, it's probably better than the S25 Ultra.
So needs the S-Pend, probably best to look for the S-24 or S-23 Ultra.
In the US there's just no bleeding edge enthusiast devices anymore. Everything is mass market consumer devices. I remember the good old days where you could walk into Best Buy and get Huawei , ZTE (Axon 7 I think was the end of the road) Xperia etc. We could even get GPE devices on the Play Store ... Sony even caved and it looks like a iPhone/Samsung clone. Don't get me wrong hardware is solid but everything is just meh but as long as theyre flying off the shelves...😂
@@madmann6723 would love to have Sony back!
Yeah, the North American market is very boring. The technically some gaming phones are available here, but it's basically in name only. They're not pushed by the carriers. They don't have full band support and they tend not to be updated. But at least some of those are pushing technology with things like active cooling. We're not getting any of the exciting camera options from Vivo or Xiaomi, Honor
@@michael_c2 very true. You can even see the manufacturing direction change as far back as the Nexus 5X, 6 & 6P Google was testing the more premium commercial space that far back. They had the OG Moto G as the enthusiast bang for your buck phone. Phones just aren't fun anymore. When we do get an exciting consumer brand like Essential and the PH1 the UA-cam community was just brutal on them and we never saw another device. It is what it is I guess, yay capitalism lol 😆.
Cant buy an Xperia??
Due to Pixel 7 growing pains, decided to get an S25+. Samsung's pre-order offers were the deciding factor despite knowing what's out there. Full price, forget it!
25+ price jump from the base seemed worth it but for an even bigger jump to the Ultra, I just didn't see the value there.
In retrospective, personally the pixel feels like the smarter phone.
they never should have got rid of the note, that was the power user option. More and more the ultra feels like its neither one thing or the other, I wouldn't be surprised if like you say they'll entirely remove the Spen, and that was the only thing they had which made the note unique. I'm not sure i will stick with samsung at that point. They are going too anti-consumer WEF you will own nothing.
Ive had some overheating whe. Wireless charging, which I didn't have with the S23 plus or S24 Ultra. Hoping there is a fix for that!
It will be a good upgrade for me because of the battery, screen and processor. I'm coming from a s23 regular model I will be upgrading this summer when my current phone is paid off.
Personally I always buy my phone. With Samsung try to buy at launch, you usually get a free storage upgrade and if you're trading an older Samsung more in trade than you could sell it for. There is pain for a few months while I am paying the balance down, but my wireless and home internet are with T-Mobile and pay $90 per month total. Or go mid range. Phones that are $500 MSRP are really good now.
I started with cheap smartphones (or free with a contract) that had limited computer power, but instead had a very good laptop, which is much more satisfactory either for work or gaming. Agreed that the midrange phones are very capable, but many need to have it on a monthly bill, so there goes the Nothing or OnePlus Nord.
I now have a flagship but I never did if I had to sacrifice funds for something else.
I have the s24 ultra, and in the last days i thought to change it for 25+ because it's more comfortable to use, but after i compared the camera between my s24u and s25+ i realized that it would be a step back. I decided to stay with my s24U
I got the s25+ very good machine,i was on the s20 fe so it was time to upgrade
Where did you get that cat wallpaper?
Mine is defective. Samsung doesn't do replacements. I had to repurchase my new one then wait for Samsung to receive it and they'll credit me back. I had/have a Navy 256. My replacement is going to be Icy Blue. I already have a Spigen clear case. I have big mitts too. 3:31
I'm leaning more towards the S25+ over the Ultra. Just waiting for that upgrade to take place which is in a few weeks.
It's a great phone. One UI 7, usable AI, long battery life, a fast processor, customization, good trade-in value in the US, and the Samsung ecosystem are reasons to buy it.
I'm in trouble from Adam M for watching your, somewhat alternative views of the Ultra.
How are you in trouble with Adam? You're entitled to your own opinions, heck, I agree with d*** near everything. Steve has said yet, I understand adams perspective as well. You've gotta stay TRUE to yourself. Both Adam & Steve should respect that.
Uh oh, Gary is in the dog house!
Adam will send Gary right up into the odyssey 😊
If the Samsung s25 has the same cameras as the ultra I'd take that one
This is my choice this year for a new phone, coming from iPhone 13
Oneplus Open 2 coming soon! Finally something to get excited for 😂
fantastic display? how is this 8 bit display any better or different than the ones $200-800 phones have?
@@baomasan having used about 20 of those phones this year, it is better. It's a nicely tuned panel. Look, I bash Samsung more than anyone, but I still have to be fair..
I appreciate the pusheen plushies and such !!!
Traded my s23 because I felt like the battery wasn't lasting as long as it used to. I had both phones for 2 days and was splitting the use. My battery in the s23 is fine haha. Oh well
Hey good video be nice to see you comparison against the OnePlus 13.
Would have been great if Samsung could have updated some of the cameras on the plus model without that it's super boring phone I'm sure it's going to work really well and if you're coming from a s20 or maybe an s21 it's worth upgrading but nobody else
I have both and, if your interested in camera quality, there's no contest. OP 13 over s25+ all day long.
I want a 25 plus with an s-pen. It's the perfect size but no s-pen 😔
Will you be getting s25 edge when it gets realse?
The s25 edge could get a 8S elite chipset (7 cores, instead of 8) less room to cool the 8 elite chipset down, so they give it a slower chipset.
It's over for Samsung for me once Apple add 120hz to their basic iPhones,
are the 25 series ultra better than 24 plus
S24U is better value for money now after the S25 launch imo.
I don't think the extra $300 is worth it for the Ultra this year with all the nerf, the reason why I ordered S25+.
I want to try Galaxy S25 ultra but I'm scared green line issues and other issues
Green line issue hasn't been a thing since 21 Ultra 😂
I think s24 Ultra for 900$ is the winner any day of the week.
the s25 ultra is a flop. I recently got the s24 ultra 3 months ago and i'm happy i dont plan on changing for the next 2 years. Hopefully the s26 ultra will be better.
Still a lot more than you'll ever get in an apple for the money..
Ok, but certainly not the discussion here. One doesn't excuse the other.
I don't care about Ultrawide camera
IMHO the One plus camera setup looks horrible
If you have an s24 ultra it's cheaper to buy the s25 ultra than the s25 Plus
If you have an S24 Ultra, you don't need to buy either...at least in my view.
@StevealiciousTech I don't need to buy a new car but I just might do it and I don't need to buy a new phone but if I'm getting it along with a pair of buds 3 pro that leaves the cost at about $200 plus tax so I'll go ahead and do it. I don't need the Bluetooth s pen to take a photo. I have a ultra watch 7. $200 to me is nothing. I don't buy fast food and I don't even eat out at restaurants but I like the latest and greatest technology. This phone is 40% faster than the last years. The wide angle is three times better than last year.
@@jamesdanekeHe was talking about in general. He was not talking about your life in general and he is correct. If you have the s24 ultra, you'd be buying the same phone. Go get you some fast food lol
@@mjjones1045 I never touch your type of food.
Telling Ultra users to buy the plus version must be satire or you really don't understand who uses the the Ultra....
I'm the person who uses the Ultra and has with the Note for almost a decade. I'm who uses it. And I'm telling you in my opinion Samsung has nerfed it enough it's no longer worth extra. If you like it, I'm happy for you.
At this point mentally handicapped use the ultra because they don't get how they betray their self intrest by supporting a greedy company with a piss poor vision of what a ultra phone is
@robertsaladino Do you love trolling people for a living. You are constantly on this reviewers case, giving him a hard time for doing his job. Go get your own channel and rant on it. It's not a hard concept to understand. The S25+ this year offers as much as the S25 Ultra. Only doesn't have an S-pen. Why get an Ultra when it arguably offers nothing more for the cost?
I mean, you can see it's point, though, if someone doesn't really need the S-pen or they don't want it without Bluetooth. The plus models now have QHD screens again. 300 to $400 value add for the S-penings asking a lot. Especially given that he's a middling amount of RAM.
@carlbrenda6518 that's my thought, anyway!
Forget about what?
Oh, that phone?
Yeah, already forgot about it.
