This is about building a router lift using a bowden cable from a bicycle. Sadly my Elu router died before I could do anything with this router lift. - Наука та технологія
That is the most tragic ending I have ever seen in a tool/carpentry video. I'm impressed and devastated at the same time.
Well made and a clever design. Routers die every day but your design will live on, it will earn you a living if marketed right.
I was thinking that this sort of thing wouldn't be that hard or expensive to manufacture. Everything seems to be made out of aluminum but even this could be (partly) done out of lego plastic. No one seems to want make anything affordable and durable anymore.
Nice video. I find it easier to follow such a build, if the final product is shown at the beginning. So I know what we're moving towards.
The wire gave me an idea: How about combining with bicycle gears? With fixed distance of e.g. 1, 3, 5 cm, and then fine-tuning with the handle.
.
I don't get it?
Nice project! 💪🏻 Sad day for your router. 😥 Missed your intro and voiceover. Your design skills and planning are always clear... along with your sense of humor! Thanks for sharing. Cheers! 🍻👍🏻😊
I have extreme table saw envy- lust- jealousy- want-etc, when i watch your videos.
Wie immer genial 👍
Very clever! Thank you for sharing your work.
Nice video Cosmas! Thanks for sharing the build with us!💖👍👌😎JP
Great idea, too bad the router bit the dust before you could complete and test this lift.
Excellent video and remote control! You have excellent mechanical ability.
Awesome work! 👍🏻👊🏻
Cosmas,
I like the design and it will have the added benefit of being largely immune from dust problems on gears or threaded rods like other designs and you can mount the winder almost anywhere, even add a small arduino controlled motor counting rotations and a display.
Wow that was an anti climax. Great build though as always
I love bowdens, so useful.
Preisverdächtig und innovativ!
VERY CLEVER COSMAS!
So super nice work
That is friggin awesome. Any plans available.
Excellent detailed video glad it worked shame the router is broke
Fantastic design
Nice job 👍💪👏👏
Super ingénieux....et du travail très soigné....bien filmé....facile à suivre....bravo et merci 👏🏾👏🏾🙏🏽🙏🏽 et toutes mes condoléances pour la défonceuse 🤭🤭
good job, idea is very good 👍
10:47 I didn't cry when me own father was hung for stealing a pig, but I'll cry now.
@@unnamed47 It's a Simpsons quote
Well, he did a good job raising the pig because now it can make youtube comments! :D
well done!
Exzellente Arbeit, Cosmas! Dafür fallen mir noch ein paar Anwendungen ein...
Best idea. I like video. thanks you
super, bien filmé et envie de le faire ! merci
Красивая работа!
Great build. Do you think that the mechanism is stable from vibration and won't move during operation? Does it need a lock? I think this is fantastic though and I would love to see it in operation!
Brilliant.
Amazing.
Do many points to fail, and in the end it was the router. Its a nice plan but there seemed to be movement? I hope you finally got it going.
Great build! Pity about the router. Is it now resting in pieces?
genial
I saw the router at the start and wondered if it would survive, I had the same unit, mine is on it’s last legs
4:40 genius :D
Noooooooooo...spoilers! Excellent mechanism!
Mega Geil, das ist schon Preisverdächtig für Kosten und Nutzen. Das baue ich Definitiv nach für die Bosch POF
Was that a Bass string?
Well you could buy a used router (same one) for cheep, I like the setup.
A shame about the router but it looks really effective and smooth!
Cosmos, You’re good at diy, can’t you economically repair the router? Or buy a used one?
You didn’t show or mention the reason for the lift design change! I like your idea and build though.
Note to self : warn my wife that her breaks no longer work...
Is the router's family doing alright? Is so sad man...
smart idea .. but the bottom wire holder to be metal not wood will be more strong ...
.
I was all excited about the final test... ... ... That sucks
R.i.p. Elu router

Gute Idee für einen einfachen Lift !
A moment (or maybe a whole video) of silence for the dead router.. Do we have the makings of MatthiasWandelVersion2 here? :)
Which is the first version? 😃
Cool build. But another video where a rotary* tool could've made things much easier to do.
*-Dremel type rotary tool (And FYI: I gave up on Dremel brand after trying the far less expensive, and much better designed Black and Decker RTX. It's better than Dremel's in every way, and unlike Dremel (and the horrible knock off type rotary tools online... ughhh they are all junk... ) the RTX actually is durable, and it has torque.)
R.I.P.
Don't start from scratch, it likes you write a book w/o content page
🇵🇱 👏👍
Why didn't i got up with this?!
Never mind bike cable
Poetic...
Like life.
Crazy how sometimes we do all kinds of work to just to lift people up....just for them to die before we are done.
Love the concept for the router lift though! 😇😎
cover the brand name on the tool but forget to cover the battery. mistery
Bad luck for the router...
Well, THAT was anticlimactic...
