Parents who abandon their young boys always seem to do so when they're hitting puberty. I think of it as 'puppy mentality'. Their little puppy is 'grown up' in their eyes and no longer cute, so they dump the puppy.

More "guilty until proven innocent, but no due process to provide evidence." It's enough to make me sick. Despicable is too kind.

I think the family is asking for to much because they did not let him say anything. OP had a photo where he was out of state when the assault happened. Second, when ask what happen to her, the money that was supposed to go to OP's college went to her. Where OP came close to ending his own life over the lie. When OP asked what the punishment was, it was a slap on the wrist compared to OP's. I did not hear or see the accuser post anything saying she lied for attention. OP cutting of ties to his family is justified.

He needs to keep his distance from his parents and extended family to maintain his mental health.

OP gets messages from time to time? Umm... Doesn't know how the 'block' function works?

This must be the 3rd or 4th edition of this story. I don't know if the original is fake or not and it doesn't matter. I just wish people stop repostig it, even with changes.
That being said, if I was OP I would talk to my parents in a way that would make them the saddest for the rest of their lives. Heartbroken should be their daily feeling from now on. As for the cousin, I wish her the worst in her life and the next one, the absolute worst.

There is something odd about how our society assesses the crime of rape and false accusations of rape.
Intellectually, there should be absolutely no question that false accusations of rape are much worse. Not only do you destroy the life of your victim, but you also make it harder for actual victims of rape to get justice.
But like almost everyone else in our society, the emotional disgust I feel towards actual rape is substantially larger than what I feel towards the false accuser. I do not understand this disconnect.

    Not enough revenge. Shit story.

Why? Revenge is awful. They lost their son, and it was their fault. I have seen what parents go through when their parents disown them. Their lives are going to fall apart all over again and it won't heal. His parents will likely divorce since his father went behind his wife's back to cut their son off in a way she didn't agree to and nearly drove their boy to leap to his own death in despair. That mental image will never go away. His father clearly loves and wants to support his brother, but that precious relationship is tainted forever. It sounds like his uncle is trying to impose similar challenges on his daughter, but nothing a parent can morally do comes close. Their family is destroyed, they did it to themselves, and they know they deserved it. There is no revenge worth taking.

yeah I mean, ok but, at least don't pretend that it is a real story right? Just write it like a novel from the beginning instead of changing between writting like a reddit story but then switch gears. The fact that the plot twist wasn't mentioned until the right moment was hilarious to me 🤣🤣

The cover image is a lie that makes you think that OP was 13 at the time he was disowned.

No it clearly say "I 20m at the time" meaning at the beginning of the story he was 20 and now present day he is probably 27.

@@scorpioxgaming1407 maybe to a native English speaker it is much clearer, but putting "at the time" using 2 time periods certainly certainly does not help in the correct comprehension of "the".
