Question Update: Some of you want to know game length - you can complete a full run in 5 hours, but the game is designed for multiple playthroughs with different unlocks etc and some random generation. I like your focus on performance, it's a great idea because the other reviews are mostly for PC. So I know a lot of thoughts on the game but what I really want to know is the switch specific stuff.
Exactly! There should be different categories of reviews. I’ve seen Switch reviews of the game and it ends up being just a review of the game itself. If you label it "Switch", it’s to know everything about the game associated with the Switch itself.
I actually quite like the objective pointer because, as someone who enjoys fully exploring the map in games like these, it's a reminder of where _not_ to go. It's so annoying accidentally finding the correct path and having to go back when there are still other places to explore, :P

They want to learn how to play video games now that they're retired, which surprised me greatly, but this kind of simple but enjoyable experience with clear markers sounds like it'll be a great game for them! Thanks for the review! :)
@@ronboton I hope you do. :) From what I can tell, it seems like playing phone games has really helped them see the fun in video games. I don't know if that approach will work with your parents, but I really hope that you're able to find a way to connect with them through video games eventually! :)

Took me like 8-10 hours in total to beat the game once. This is me looking in every corner of the map and killing about 90% - 99% of Mob in the map. Not a bad game, I think it is worth the $20 dollars 👍👍👍
@@thesupereastwood it doesn't look like it, they even mention it in the FAQ on their website that it was "designed to be played together with your friends"...disappointing :(

Thanks for the great review as always! I had already picked up the game on the switch after trying it out on gamepass (that still doesn't prevent me from watching your great reviews). Playing it with my two kids and my wife. It is very fun in coop and the lite-ARPG aspects is very well suited for the target audience. Lovely game if you have friends or kida to play with.
Having played this in co-op with a friend via Game Pass on PC. Both of us have dumped 1000's of hours into ARPG's, they're easily my favorite genre & his too. This game is definitely designed for a family approach. The story telling, narration etc is very child friendly, the depth of combat, weapon variety etc while not the deepest has something for the older crowd to occupy themselves with at least. The lack of environment destruction is 100% what felt....Off for me. There was something while playing that I just couldn't put my finger on and that's it. Doubly so for an arpg not to have breakable barrels *and* a Minecraft game to not feature anything breakable blocks. Overall I think it's an enjoyable game. It's priced appropriately for the time sink available for veterans of arpg's & it's even more value if you're playing with kids imo. Will likely pick this up for Switch since I personally find D3 on Switch to be the best way to play it (minor caveats aside).
My only complain with the game, is that the duration of a playthough is too short (around 4 hrs) then again, i will try this game again with friends after the quarantine, and sometimes those shorts experiences are just what someone needs.
I bought the game yesterday to play with my kids, they are 6 & 8. We had a really good time playing this. I saw a review a day or two ago saying that it is very well suited to introduce people not accustomed to these types of games and I’d like to agree. They quickly got a hold of the game mechanics but at the same time found the game challenging and fun. We did however had stuttering frame rates which started during the second dungeon and never stopped until we quit the game. The kids didn’t care about that but I got distracted by it. Not sure if it was a one time event or if it will happen all the time when playing couch coop.
Hey the game I was gonna pick up, lets see, oh and almost there, I remember when this channel had around 1k man how time flies, I think that we have to think about it not as a Minecraft game but its own thing, it look really good, hope the dlc make it even greater :)

Love the look of this one to play with my 5 year old! But the gameplay looks just right for us to play together! Love the channel, this should be the go to channel for all switch players.
The game is very poorly optimized. My battery went down to 35% in some 1.5 hours only. Level loading screen freezes and unfreezes all the time. Playing local co-op with my daughter, we have experienced quite a lot of screen stuttering, especially in "open" areas. Really hope they will release a patch to fix it asap.
Dunno about anyone but I had a bug out of the gate where it would barely let me move between the skins. Once I started moving up towards the top of the skins list this bug ceased to exist
Sounds like a watered down version of diablo that you would introduce to a younger audience to get them into this genre. It's got a decent price though. Does it have interesting bosses and do you find fun legendary weapons?
Wait... invert camera? The camera is fixed isn’t it? I have to say I’m regretting getting this on switch. I am getting awful framerate drops, it’s making it super hard to play. I’ve heard other people have been getting it too. But a few people have said it’s fine but that they got the hero edition, if that’s made any difference, I don’t know. But everyone is reporting a lot of different issues with the framerate and those stutters. I’ve noticed it’s worse in docked than handheld too. So annoying. Got it to play with my nephew during lockdown, could have got it on PS4 or PC, but chose switch because he has his own switch too. Hope it gets patched 🤞🏻
I have enjoyed it enough to keep playing in spite of four crashes in eight hours. Also I like the quest marker because it shows me which way to save for last.
All the performance test right now are at the beginning of the game, i wish i could see some test for the endgame when the game get crazy with the effect and numbers of enemies.
I think it's a nice and fun game, but I was a little disappointed with the ocasional stutterers and even the audio was stuttering while loading. There is this strange thing that enemies are still attacking when you open the item menu or options menu. That's a bit annoying to me, honestly. Apart from that I like the game so far and can't wait to test the crossplatform funktionality with the Xbox.
Yeah you both are right, it's not the best experience like this on the switch. For now it's better on other platforms, but I'm quite confident that they will patch up the switch version in the near future, because it has the potential to sell well, I guess.
My game chugged so badly in Creepy Crypt that it completely froze twice. I ended up powering through it a 3rd time with all secrets and chests on the map having been found yet I still couldn't leave through the exit and had to leave again. I enjoyed your review and what I played of the game until discovering tonite that mine is basically unplayable.
So I just got this to play with my son and the performance in local coop is abismal - hitching is so bad it's actually making me motion sick. Was there a recent update that's degraded performance? Trying it with single player and it doesn't seem to be running as smooth as it does in this video?
Great review! I saved this on my wish list on my Nintendo eShop account, and I waited for the performance review on this channel. Now I certainly know that I will buy this game when I get $20. Also I have a question, when firing projectiles, does it require ammo or does it require a small portion of a “stamina” meter?
Each bow/ crossbow comes with a set amount of ammo and you can find more throughout the levels either in chests or off enemy drops. Most of the time you don’t really need to worry about ammo though unless your weapon doesn’t start with much.
Dont remember if you mentioned it but the games only $20 too. I thought for sure it was going to be more. Ive only played about an hour or two of it so far but Its definitely fun. If your into ARPGS or diablo likes id recommend giving it a shot. Just know going in that it is a much simpler experience, but still fun!
I have been enjoying this one and I have preordered borderlands already and hopeing that it is a good port. I will be picking up bioshock collection and Xcom 2 if they are decent ports.
Would be nice if Minecraft have the mobs of Dungeons has This is one of my planned games to have as my first second ezio collection and third hollow knight
You should try local coop. For me, the stuttering increased... A lot. It's a very fun, casual experience, until it isn't The first few levels are pretty easy. Cacti Canyon however, likes to teach your team that you can die... a LOT.
I know i mentioned it before but you should check out Portal Knights: Legendary Edition. It is essentially minecraft meets an rpg with a cute cartoony art style. I highly recommend it.
I really want it to play with my nephews! How long until i can find a used copy at gamestop or gameXchange, i blew way to much money on memorial day sales & finally got trials of mana along with civilization VI !
I like the new frames per second bar, nice touch boys! This game is going to appeal to a massive group of new and old players. (I'm thinking a gateway drug... err I mean game, to the likes of Diablo)
You know how you press “R” to sort of sprint I don’t know if this is a glitch or maybe part of the game but I have this annoying thing we’re it keeps on sprinting
Hell yeah I'm going to be skeptical. Almost seems half the ports at launch have optimization problems though to be fair they usally get patched. I'll wait for your review before I risk sinking money into those.
It needs more work for sure. Especially on the switch...of course. My biggest issue with the game both here and Xbox, is that they both never show anyone playing so I can’t play with anyone online. They need to fix that. Other than a few little things and obvious performance issues aside on the switch version. It’s actually quite decent. Definitely get your $20 worth at least but that’s about it.
Sceptical about 2K’s business practices? Surely not 😜. My guess is that like their previous efforts on Switch, their upcoming triplets will look as appetising as Father Jack’s a@#% biscuits. Moving on, wow! This new performance series you are running is great stuff. There are too many shoddy ports for the Switch and those need to be called out. Along with looking at a game’s settings and options, I don’t see another channel doing this exclusively for Switch releases. Great work and I hope you continue with this.
Uff... I would like to like this game, but something bothers me and I can't put my finger on what. I love DiabloII and enjoyed Torchlight, so I'm definitely down for a good dungeon crawling-lootfest experience, and MD sure looks good. Still, it doesn't speak to me. It's a shame really.

So there's children of morta grind and now this.
Now I want this too.
Would be nice if Minecraft have the mobs of Dungeons has
This is one of my planned games to have as my first second ezio collection and third hollow knight
You should try local coop. For me, the stuttering increased... A lot. It's a very fun, casual experience, until it isn't The first few levels are pretty easy. Cacti Canyon however, likes to teach your team that you can die... a LOT.
Never played Minecraft, but this dungeon style of it intrigues me. Should I?
I know i mentioned it before but you should check out Portal Knights: Legendary Edition. It is essentially minecraft meets an rpg with a cute cartoony art style. I highly recommend it.
Just got my UA-cam fam to subscribe 👍🏿
Do we know if a physical version is coming?
What's the name of this song ?🎵
Btw you can have more tnts on your head ;)
Haha! So you can! Nice one mate! Mark
I really want it to play with my nephews! How long until i can find a used copy at gamestop or gameXchange, i blew way to much money on memorial day sales & finally got trials of mana along with civilization VI !
I don’t think that there’s a physical version so finding a used copy will be impossible if that’s the case
I just got a new switch and was gonna buy minecraft ,but oh boy oh boy look wants here
I like the new frames per second bar, nice touch boys!
Hello i need help! Im wondering if you can login (on nintendo switch) with a microsoft account? Please help fast!
I’ve tried to do local play but it didn’t work it said to press the L button on the second controller but I pressed it it and it did nothing
Click on the left thumbstick. Hope that helps but maybe not the issue.
I’m new here come on 100K!!!!!
Love lets get to 100k
Was wondering how it ran. Thanks!
Siobhan R You’re welcome mate! Mark
It stop working in my switch and i reinstalled it and it still doesnt work
Gowdys Retro Room in this BIHH!!!!!!!!
This is an easy buy for my boys and I to enjoy. Great job gents.
Hmm... I'm sure i'd feel right playing a Minecraft spin off game when I've never plated Minecraft, *Strokes chin thoughtfully*
Hey I have a question
