I am blessed to live near a world-class custom seat maker (Mr. Ed's Moto in Albany, Oregon), so I get to watch the entire process of building my custom seat in person. It is a fascinating experience! I always go for custom vinyl (alligator!) and thread colors, and really like the varying foam density layers Mr. Ed builds for me. Once you have your motorcycle seat customized for YOU, no production seat will ever be good enough for you. It's THAT much better.
Where can I find Mr. Ed's Moto? And how are the prices? These Sargent seat folks are already raising prices vs what's shown in this video. Not a fan of those business practices. I was going to order one until I saw that - scammers.

Great video guys, and fun. I don’t own an Aprilia as you know, but I love my Sargent seat, it’s fantastic. The seat is much firmer than my squishy stock one, slightly wider and the pitch more level, which all makes for a very comfortable seat. It has the relief channel as well. Their sales and customer service is second to none. PS if you are active or retired LEO or military guy or gal, just give them a ring and ask for the” good guy” discount.
Thank you so much for the feedback! We totally agree...their seats are amazing, and their customer service is second to none. Thanks for the tip on the military discount!!!
That's a great question! It's still on my Aprilia Comfort Low seat. But I will probably try it out on this new seat! It's a little wider. But I think it'll stretch. I'll keep you posted!
Thanks for the video! So is the seat you got lower than the OEM standard seat? 33.9"" OEM vs 33.23" for the Sargent seat seems like their numbers for their 3/4" lower seat. If that's true, I will probably just get the standard one. I'm in the same boat as you with a 30" inseam and I'm barely on the balls of my feet. I ride mostly off--road so getting a foot down kinda matters. LOL PS: The turnaround for the seat is now 2-3 weeks as of May.
Oh wow...they must have gotten a backlog of orders! Which is a good sign, right? Yes, the Sargent seat is lower than original Aprilia seat, but taller than Aprilia Comfort Low seat. But it has a more curved shape up front between your legs, making it easier to reach the ground or dab a foot in tough conditions. I'm really happy with it. But remember I've also dropped my suspension 3/4" with the AltRider Variable Height Linkage. You might want to check out our video about that install...also a product I highly recommend!
@@MotoPhotoAdventures Yeah, I don't want to lower my bike but if that Sargent gets me 1/2" closer to the ground, that's all I need. I ride mostly off-road so lowering links aren't an option for me. I bought some Black Dogs pegs that are 1/2" lower than stock so a lower seat will still give me leg room on the pegs. I just hope the seat is really lower than stock... lol. Thanks man.
@@stevec3936 you're very welcome! I ride off-road a lot too. I found the Aprilia Comfort Low seat was actually really well suited for that. If I wasn't so keen on getting the comfort "pocket" available in the standard height seat, I would have gone with Sargent's low seat too. After riding on both for a while now, I think the Sargent seat I got is equally good off-road, but WAAAY better for long distance comfort!!! So it's a winner in my book.
Great video, been searching for a comfortable seat for my Tuareg👍🏻
Glad you enjoyed it! I've put thousands of miles on my seat now. It's fantastic!!!
@ awesome

I believe you 100% Paul! Maybe we should get a seat made by Mr. Ed to compare?!? 🙂
@@MotoPhotoAdventures I think so, yes. 👍

I have Revolution stamped on my seat! - Frank
That's awesome! You got it for the KTM? They make amazing seats!!!
cool commercial.
Thanks...I think? 😂
Looks to be very high quality. So Chris, will you be using your Cool Cover in conjunction with this seat?

@@MotoPhotoAdventures Thanks. I sent Mary an email asking about the height of the standard seat before I send my seat away for a few weeks... haha
@stevec3936 sounds good! Exact heights of each seat are listed on their website as well.
