Love love love Warung Naksa. Glad someone beat us on a recommendation. Stayed in Kesari 1 and 2, at there often. If you go back, have the spring rolls ... kind of crispy crepe type and large. Also the best Ayam Betutu we've tried to date. Thanks and love your work.
Hi Adam recently found your channel and subscribed. Love that you can speak a bit of Indonesian and add translation in subtitles. Great that you focus on warungs and local food. A suggestion for you to perhaps go one step further and review cart food (kaki lima)
Thanks for watching! What sort of food carts are you referring to? The ones that don’t set up in a fixed spot and just cruise around or ones that set up a little stall on the side of the road? Also, do you have any recommendations of ones to review?
I haven't been to Sanur for many years but I don't think there would be a whole lot of kaki Lima around? Usually they will stay in same locations most days. There are the bakso, bubur, mie Goreng and nasi goreng etc. And what about Bali's famous nasi jingo! Usually sold in a banana leaf in the morning for 5000rp often from the back of a push bike.
Yeah there are some kaki lima in some parts of Sanur, but it's not really like the rest of Indonesia and not like it used to be in many parts of Bali. The main local food situation these days seems to be the Sanur Night Market. Lots of local food!
Haha. I have to run everyday to keep things in balance. 🤣 Despite that, people seem to want more and more videos to watch so I’m at a loss of what to do. I might need to start running marathons!
@6:16 mark "These warung meals are good value for money". Understatement of the episode & possibly the year. 😂😂 You haven't been back to Australia recently have you ? I can't buy a beer for the price of your meal! Thanks for another great review. I've saved it to my Sanur Bali playlist 👍
Before covid Naksa used to have very local food, cooking their pig dishes early morning, so delicious, but now they have accommodation attached it has now changed as in not the local local food as i believe they dont want to wake guests early morning with preparation
A bit of a shame really. I think people really would love to try more Indonesian food, but in settings that are above local Warung style. There are a few places around, but I think it can be done even better.
In that price range, you’re looking at artotel, 1O1, Swastika Bungalows and Swiss-bel. I haven’t stayed at these, but people do recommend them. Hopefully later this year I can start staying the night at some of these places so I can get a better feel for what’s what.

Thanks for the recommendation! Will have to try the Ayam Betutu next time I'm there.

How the heck do you stay so trim eating all that awesome food? I'm coming to Sanur soon. I reckon I'll end up like the side of a house 😅

@@SanurDiaries Sounds like a good plan. Just don't tell everyone that the food gave you the runs! 😄
That’s already a certainty 🤣
Been back from bali 2 weeks it's killing me with 12 degrees in melbourne
True. The only time I ever get cold is when I have the AC set too low. 🤣

Haha yeah prices in Australia really have gone through the roof. I get back a few times a year and feel instantly poor!
@SanurDiaries Bread-making machines will be making a comeback soon 😂
