Virtually in every case, a rising bridge from the rear on a guitar of this type results from either gluing the bridge onto the finish [ horrible ] or having some finish under the bridge. In which case, the PVA glue will soon fail. Well-conceived repair on that instrument -maybe a bit aggressive for a 1935 Martin D-28...

It is a relief to see you use a travel iron for the fingerboard. Full-sized irons require too much set-up in order to avoid ruining the finish.
