Hi, I'm really enjoying your videos. I'm in NZ too. Please do more of these types of videos, perhaps with a meal plan. Also, I would love to see some of your meat free meals.

Hi there, thanks for taking the time to comment. Will do, yes a meal plan video would be a good idea- thanks! Get the lentils ready ;-)

It was good to hear on the news that they will be making it compulsory for supermarkets to make the unit prices for products clearer. Its getting tough to have a decent grocery budget if you dont have other ways to supplement, like vege gardens and co-ops. Lovely video, great insights 😊

Hi @TotalUniGirl, lovely to hear from you again. I think that's a good move to make it easier for the consumer. When I go to the supermarket it's me vs the marketers! I agree with the garden and food co-op, its been a huge help with our grocery budget, especially with growing kids 🙂 in the past the garden was more a hobby but now it feels like it really counts.

So true! That combined with the wages :-). I was in Sydney for a month last year and I couldn't believe the difference in price. I think they only thing that is cheaper in NZ compared to Australia is wine and beer!

Thanks for sharing. Its always really interesting to see other peoples local supermarket and the choices available for purchase along with the price. Can you please share how you make your dirty fries as they sound like something new and interesting to try.

Hi @pens_n_pals, I hope you are doing well. I love going to different grocery shops, especially in other countries. Dirty fries... we saw that once on a restaurant menu ad have used it ever since. It is a bowl of wedges with nacho style: beans, tomatoes (mince) and spices on top. Then we add grated cheese and salad to the top of that and some guacamole and hummus to the side. Super easy, beautifully colourful and filling dinner..

Hi nice video, like the idea of having a bike but in this weather I do like a car, nice seeing the prices of things

Thanks @madamkkiwi1094, lovely to hear from you. I love biking but it has been hard this winter. Luckily it's not a particularly rainy part of the country we are in so mostly just cold and windy over winter. Summers the time to start biking so you're in the habit of it by the time the cold weather comes along!

Hi all the way from England. Wow your Groceries seem super expensive, I didn't check what the equlivant would be to the GB £. How did you manage to get all the Groceries back on your bike! Would be nice to see what meals you do with the ingredients you purchased. Also love how restraint you are with your budget putting the Feta back. Note to self I must do better sticking to my budget! X

Thanks for watching @ayshakhatun3899- you must be up early! Groceries here are ridiculous- especially given we grow almost all of it in NZ. Haha, with the feta. My kids and husband hate that I do that (if they're with me). Re: getting it back on my bike.... it is a bit precarious sometimes- this year I'd like to get a bike trailer. Otherwise it's my big travelling backpack on my back and a bag hanging over each of my handle bars :-) and a hope and a prayer that I don't have to stop and start too often at the lights!

Not sure about the exhabge rate. But if its similar to AUD i can see that NZ is not cheap. Thanks for sharing 💙💙

Hi @planningfor reality, nice to hear from you 🙂. Junk food is cheap here ($1.50- $2.50 for a big bag of chips, $1 for a bar of chocolate) but fruit and vege pretty expensive. When we were on holiday in Oz we feasted on avocados and kumera which are both crazy pricey here- but avoided expensive Australian chippies 🙂
