Amazing! What a fabulous way to use fabric. I would imagine you can do paper napkins as well. What a great tip. Imagine taking a baby onesie or baby’s clothing and making a memory book, or part of a wedding dress or colored fabric to match the colors of the wedding theme… so many possibilities.
Oh. My. Goodness! When you mentioned using fabric from your Father-In-Law who had passed a light bulb went off !!! My mom passed away in 2008 and a year or two ago my dad gave my sister (who lives close to him - I’m on the opposite coast) my mom’s wedding gown to “create” with. She sent me large pieces but I didn’t know what to do with it yet but now … I’ll laminate it and create a Travelers Notebook and/or journals for myself and my three daughters. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!
Seriously, Lolly....please believe me when I say that I watch a TON of YT tutorials and without a doubt, you, my dear, are a GREAT teacher! You were born for it! This is such a great idea and I think I'm going to try it with my laminating pouches in Matte. I've started buying them over the last year and loving them. Thank you so much for sharing, Lolly! gentle hugs from Canada
Wow, thank you! After having had a rough morning, your comment has cheered me so much. Thank you for taking the time to comment and offer such beautiful encouragement. Thank you for the reminder to use my matte laminating sheets, too!
Lolly, this is ingenious! I would never have thought of laminating fabric, and now I'm going to pull out my box o' scrap fabric and give it a try! I just love this idea! Also, I was today years old when I found out that my Crop-A-Dile has a locking feature! Thanks so much for your very informative video. I really appreciate the detail that you put into all your videos. I've laminated paper and had the deep "air" pocket but I didn't think it could be fixed, so now I "need" a flat iron. LOL! Again, Lolly, thank you for sharing your genius with us and for making sure you cover every detail.
Oh my gosh. Now I have something to do with leftover squares. A quilt and journal to match. Great gift idea. Especially for new babies. Thank you for sharing this!
Such great ideas Lolly...and I must watch this again. There were so many smaller 'oh yeah' moments for me that I think I need to write down. Your attention to detail as a teacher is much appreciated 🧡.
This is great! Such an informative video, as usual. I will give this a try sometime. I would like to say that I really didn't know the hand held crop a dile had a lock, so good to know. Also, my youngest son heard me expressing how lovely your crop a dile was so he made sure it showed up for my Christmas gift. I love it. I already had the big mouth but there are times I don't really need that one and the hand held has been perfect. Thanks for sharing this, *Debbie*
This is an awesome idea. I absolutely love it. I'm glad you said something about the laminator. I have the top feeder, so I definitely need a front feed. I love how your fathers shirt came out as a bookmark. I have some of my dad's shirts, and that is a really cool idea. That blue material was absolutely beautiful. I love the idea of making journals out of these. So fun!!
Thanks Lolly for all that important information. I have a laminator/book binder a friend gave me , and some beautiful material a fellow crafter gave me I will be trying this out. 😊
I love this! I had so many questions but as the video continued to play , you had answered all of my questions before I can even ask. You are amazing. This is one of my favorite channels. Thank you Lolly
If you want to try something a slight bit different and maybe save some laminate try putting 2 pieces of fabric the exact same size taking care to match up wrong sides together and place in pouch put all pieces you want laminated in the pouch using the same method. After running through the laminator cutting pieces out only 1 side will be laminated instead. It still gives the facing surface protection and the wrong side is not but you can also glue a pocket to the wrong side or embellish however you want... Its nice to make card stock this way to for journal covers or notebooks. You get the front and back done with 1 sheet of laminate on 1 side..just an idea
I do that with card stock. My only concern with fabric is that it will make it much thicker of a laminate, making it slightly harder to get a good seal. Also, I'm not sure how well it will continue sticking to the fabric once separated. With paper it works most of the time, but not all -- it can still separate. I suppose fabric type makes a huge difference.
@@LollyPalooza yes, that possibly could happen but with a scrap of fabric it might be worth a try...I think maybe the sizing could be a hinderance in this case as well...
Ooh. I don't remember, since I bought it several years ago, but I think it was at Hobby Lobby. I had gone there to look for fabrics for journal covers, and this is one that I bought at that time.
I don't have a rotary with pinking :) You'll notice I did not pink the top edge of the pocket pieces, so it's not necessary. I did it because I wanted to.
What a great idea! Would denim be too thick? I have a floral denim fabric that I've been saving for a while. I'd like to make a TN cover with it but am worried about it being damaged over time.
The main problem with thick fabric is that if it feeds through the machine (which it might not), it's too hard to get a good seal around the fabric. You could try with a piece of denim of the same thickness before risking your treasured fabric.
They are called charm packs and they are great to buy since they all coordinate with each other. Fat quarters are fat eighths also work well but I would stay away from any jersey type fabrics
I was intrigued by the idea of journals, but I didn't care for the cluttered style that I saw in most videos. I like your clean and simplistic style.
Thank you so much! It took me awhile to start, for the same reason. I like beauty, but I need functionality.

What a lovely sentiment, making pillows out of your late father in law’s shirts to give as gifts to your family.
Yes! Thank you!

Adorable!! I don't have a laminator, but maybe I NEED one!!!! Great ideas, Lolly!!!!
there are so many things I've laminated, such as rice paper, tissue paper, napkins, and even cellophane bags!
I've never thought of laminating fabric. This is such a cool idea and it looks great. Thanks for this tutorial!
Thanks a bunch
What a fantastic way to laminate fabric and turn ii into a journal cover. Love it.

You are so welcome!
I've seen ppl do something similar with napkins too...
Yes, I have napkin laminating videos, too!
Awesome ideal and great way to use up fabric.tfs.

Such a neat idea. You can copy fabric on your printer and then laminate the paper instead of using the fabric. Thanks for the ideas.
Yes, I've seen people do that, but I haven't tried it! Sounds fun!
That fabric is BEAUTIFUL!!! I HAVE TO TRY THIS. Can you share where you got the fabric from? Thanks for always sharing great ideas!

Hello a new subbie here all the way from Iceland LOL I love this and find it so cute and nice. TFS
Thanks for subbing!
Brilliant idea ❤️
Thank you! 😊
Can you do something to soften the corners, it seems they would be sharp.
You can use a corner chomper on them, but I would first round the corner on the fabric as well.
I love your channel
thanks a BUNCH!
Omg I have so much fabric beautiful work thank you
You’re welcome 😊 have fun!
Great idea Lolly, thank you for sharing

I was hoping to find some cool fabrics to add to the back of my hand drawn bookmarks. I think this will be perfect
Sounds great!
I'm just learning to draw so they are not perfect. But again flowers have flaws too

Oh my goodness absolutely love the print of the black and pink Paris fabric! Where did you find that?
I've had it quite awhile. I think I may have gotten it at Hobby Lobby, but a few years ago.
THat's cool! and those are great tips. =)
many thanks!
You're welcome. =)
Thank you... where did you get the fabric?
Hi. I bought it long ago for making journals, so it was in my stash. I *think* I bought it at Hobby Lobby.
You could use a rotary cutter with a pinking edge for a straighter cut. Do you have to pink your edges?
I don't have a rotary with pinking :) You'll notice I did not pink the top edge of the pocket pieces, so it's not necessary. I did it because I wanted to.
I did this the other day. It was so fun
awesome

Hello. I am searching for large laminate sheets for upholstery fabric. Please advise. Thank you.
You should probably search for "laminating rolls" online, rather than "laminating sheets"
Very Nice ❤.
Thanks 🤗

Yes, at one point I started a playlist for charm packs, but I never added to it until now. ua-cam.com/video/Cc_xQn14F2o/v-deo.html

The fabric you showed at the end is a batik…
