I love the smell of Castrol in the morning
👍❤️❤️👍🥰 👃🏻
Belray..best smelling 2 stoke oil..ftw
Castrol or castor oil?
Golden Spetro.?
Klots!
Had the H2 750 when I was 16. Huge handful. Still looking for one.
Lots of fun.
My old boss owned a purple triple 750 and same time I owned a 79 rd400 Daytona special. Was cool looking out the window at work seeing them and waiting for lunch or off work.
Unfortunately a oak tree fell on his in his yard, even bent the frame.
Just bought a H2b 750 😀
I had an S3 400 from 1977-79. Always dreamed of upgrading to a H1 500 or H2 750. They really don't make 'em like that any more!
Mike Vincent That’s a high price for a low mileage unmolested example. This particular one is far from that.
Thx though 🤙🏼
@Mike Vincent Prices like that, especially for shabby examples drove me to buy a modern retro. I'm very happy with my BMW RnineT racer S, and I like my mates Triumph Thruxtons. For me, the numbers don't really add up to buy old. Each to his own of course.
I'm OLD enough to remember when these bikes were selling new, and nothing was faster than these 2 stroke triple Kawasakis. They didn't handle great in the twisties but what a crotch-rocket going straight. Love that 2-stroke sound. I also LOVED the Yamaha RD400 another rocket. I love the rural New England countryside in your vids too, easy to spot by the classic building most of which I'm guessing are over 100 years old. My dad's roots are in New England though he left in 1942 to fight in the SW Pacific, and newer wanted to return there after exposure to the war. Sad how the classic New England accent is fading away due to exposure via TV and internet, no more isolation of small communities. Keep up the great videos. Aloha.
I lived in Mass. from late 1973 to late 1976, on Lake Boon, Hudson. I had 2 '74' Kaws, a 175 F7 trail, and an H2 750. Fun days, and a neat area in those days, with all the old buildings and rural roads, open spaces still around. Commuted from there to work in Maynard. On the H2 I would take different roads every day, and on days I rode the F7 I would take different off road paths and trails.
Remember these bikes well. Nothing like them I owned a 72 RD350 back in the day that was a two stroke screamer also.
Power goes from being a 250 until you reach the power band then it's a beast. Quite a shock if you're not expecting it.
Yeah buddy!!!
The front gets pretty light when it comes on the pipe.
My first street bike was the 1974 400 triple. I could hardly keep the front wheel down when shifting. All of my street bikes have been Kaws 400, 650, 1000, 1100, and still have my 77 kz900. The 400 was unbelievable fast and to this day have never rid anything as quick. I know they are rare but if you ever get the chance ride it you wont be disappointed
Such a beautiful bike and a real classic!!! Love two stroke engines!
Love that sound,,Miss the days when I worked at local Kawi shop ,,Kawasaki East,,test ride the new h1//h2!!! Yee haw!!!
Man, those triples were just fun!🔥👊
I bought a 1970 mach 3 in 1971 for $600.00 MSRP was $999.00.
Rode it for a year in Texas and survived. Sold it to another Marine and flew home for good. It was my first and last motorcycle and I figured why press my luck. I always referred to it as a chainsaw on wheels but a lot of fun at 21.
true
... 👍😂😂☝️
Love the sound of a fast two-stroke under power.
Your shop makes old bikes look like new. Great job . Love the old bikes.
I had one like this in 79. Drove it all summer. Shut it off one day, never fired after that. Left it in my dads garage. I think some guy bought it from him. Two loves that summer. The bike was one of ‘em.😉
I had one just like it 😍 but mine was a 1975 , single front disk , love that two stroke sound , dam fast too !
Poppy chambers hard to find those..Very well restored. It can handle better with stock handle makes the bike lighter .
Beautiful went on a nostalgia trip . Had one just like that .
That’s awesome it’s till around and looks and runs as good as it does! Cool vintage bike!
My brother had one ( H1 )when I was a kid and I ended up with a 76 RD 400 I bought back in 1983 and still have it. I always wanted the H2 but would easily settle for this baby. Great video, thanks for sharing and cheers from Canada!
Bought one of those new from a dealer. Could not keep the front wheel on the ground. It would wheelie at the most inopportune times. I installed a Vetter fairing and that helped. It would get to 115 in no time.
Got rid of it as soon as I got it paid off.
one of my favorite rides, had one with clip ons and smoked emgo cafe sheild with pipes.
One of my dream bikes in the early 70s, when I was a teenager. Didn't get to own one, but did eventually own a Yamaha Rd 350 LC, a
Kawasaki k1 250 and a Suzuki rg 500 gamma, all great 2 stroke motorcycles.
We have lost so much in the name of progress.
I'm only 30 but I love these things and would seriously consider getting one if I find one at a good price. I've always loved old bikes. My dad had a couple little Honda 90s and a ct100 I think it was called? He sold it when I was young but loved those old 90s with the hi/low transmission even more than the newer bikes he had. There was just something about 70s motorcycles that can't be beat.
Edit, the other Honda was a sl100 just looked it up.
Very cool bike, great fun to ride, wish they still built em.
Last 2 2 strokes I saw on the street were a RZ350 and a RG500 Gamma several years ago..
When you let the gas go, it sounds like Hendrix or Clapton. Sooo sweet.!!
The bike is a legend its when something special rolls out of manufacturer
I had a '74 Kawasaki 400cc i believe it was...3 cylinder 2 stroke...it was pretty fast!
Kap good job slowing down for that woman pushing the baby but you know you just made a motorcycle fan for life😁
That bike sounds awesome! Thanks for sharing.
I bought one of these brand new in 1970 and rode the hell out of it. It cost me $995. This brings back memories for sure...
$995 was a lot of money back then!
Ain't shit now😂😂
You can't put a price on fun!
Very nice, I had several 2 stroke bikes growing up, dual purpose they called them, ride the woods in the day, ride to town at night. True freedom machines.
Visited the museum last month it is the Mecca of motorcycles.
I went to high school from 73 to 78. The Headmaster at my high school had one exactly like this. And his son had the Honda 350 four. Two diametrically different bikes. The Kawasaki sounded like a bunch of stray cats in a bag and the Honda was like a sewing machine. Needless to say this green and black 73 Kawasaki triple is my favorite of all bikes. You guys always make such a professional presentation. Thank you for preserving these old bikes. Some lucky rich person is going to own this now.
Six years in high school huh?
@@boataxe4605
Maybe as you count on your fingers and toes. I'll try to explain it to you and hopefully you'll understand. 1973, 1974, 1975, 1976, 1977, and 1978 are separate years which would amount to six. However a school year does not run from January to December. The school year starts in September of one year and ends in June or July of the following year. Now that you know that I'm sure you'll be able to figure out how many years I went to high school. Now I'm figuring you are the kind of person who needs to talk out loud while he's thinking so in that case take the straw out of your mouth cousin.
My dad had a 350 back in the day from new absolutely quick for it's time I wish that I had it today awesome bike 😊👍
The Gary Nixon jacket adds a nice touch!
Easy to see you guys just love all bikes and This Country ❤Respect
I have owned and ridden many bikes over the years but my absolute favorite was my 1975 H1F 500!!! Oh My God Wicked Fast!!! I bought her in 1977 from the original owner with only 200 miles, he was afraid of it! I rode that beast for six years when I finally had to rebuild the top end...I may have gone a smidge beyond what the frame and front fork was able to handle!!! After my break-in period was up I opened her up on Rt. 95, pegged the speedo, hit an expansion joint on the Piscataqua River Bridge, those of you from my area will know where that is, and went into a high-speed wobble, something I found out much too late that they were prone to dut to the horribly underbuilt front end. Of course, my overbore of the engine didn't help! Yep, totaled! My current ride is a 1973 CB 750 barn find. it is tough to beat those '70s pieces.
Two stroke street bikes are just a local myth around here. I saw one 15 years ago I haven't seen one since.
So get one bro, they are fun
I've got one of these, in this colour; in the garage. Next to an H2. Which is next to a GT750, a GT550, a Triumph T140E, and a 400/4. Bro you need to get out on your bike more!
I second what everyone else has said. 2-stroke street bikes are completely awesome and bring magic onto the faces of everyone that sees them. Get one. Even if it's like a 350, that's still Triumph Bonneville fast.
David Michael On the contrary buddy, except I never got married or had any children! But I do have room for many more motorbikes in my life.
David Michael well actually I have 31, and picking up my latest one on Wednesday. But I'm in the UK, not the USA. You don't have to be rich to own these bikes, just old enough to know what it is you're buying.
I bought one new in 1973 - same color. Traded it in for a Z1 the next year. Good memories - nice to see this one in such good shape.
I had a 74 in the same color . Loved the power and that adjustable steering dampener.
Love those suzuki dampers
I had a 400 and 500 triple. Had a lot of fun on those bikes
Not bad ... Sound's a little rough . Setting these bikes up is an art . Nice bike , beautiful rebuild .... Excellent bike .
It's got modified exhaust. The OEM's were longer and much thicker with more resonance. I stilll remember the sound when my uncle's tenant started his blue Mach III and then lifted the front wheel in the space of about 15 to 20 feet! I'd by one just like that in a heart beat!
Reported for highly sexualized content .
yeah exc it belongs in the 'gay' category
Nice! Bought mine in 1977 used $600 lol always loved that color ❤😉
I had one while serving in the Navy in VA and abandoned it in a field before a world cruise in 82 😢
Was a beast back in the day, power band was scary
Another beautiful triple! Great video guys!
I had a friend let me borrow his 2 stroke once. I remember being sent to the back of the seat and barely holding onto the end of the throttle while it was wide open. I just kept shifting and slowly worked my way back onto the front of the seat where I could finally control the throttle. My face was directly over the speedometer and it was reading 110mph. It all happened so fast. I remember the exact road I was on. You never forget that kind of power. What a rush
Sounds Scary😧
@@eddiemunster4094 . Ya Eddie. I am not a motorcycle rider and that ride and one other one made me decide to never buy one. Those 2 strokes are wicked fast. I'll stick to muscle cars and sports cars.
@@billyrayvalentine7972 Crazy power my late friend had a KTM 625 enduro pais $10,000 used-!
@@billyrayvalentine7972 good thing that this bike is de-tuned , i can confirm that bike is wild. just need to relax your hands on handle bars to keep from the speed wobble, cos hanging on for life ain't helping you is my experience.
What a beauty ! I had a Yamaha RD400.
I got passed, like I was standing still, by one of those while on a flight to Reno, Nevada.
Sounds so nice 🥰and really how much fun is that bike eh ! So fun to ride ! And looks sick 🤘🏼spot on boys !
I had that exact same bike, very fun to ride, a wheelie monster
My brother Jack had the H2 750 and a 500. Nothing like a 2 stroker on the pipe
Super cool sound😁
Hell Yes!!!, Awesome machine! Don’t make em like that anymore.....
Ahh yea what a sound. It’s like hypnotic. My oldest brother had 1. Root beer n red. I did ride it when my other brother rebuilt it after he passed away suddenly ! Fun fun fast !
I could feel it when it hit the power band!!
Just plain music to my ears and you rarely get a glimpse of one anymore! We have two rd350s in the family and they are killer bikes.
I hung in to a 750 Law once, what a ride
I love that beast from Philippines
Awesome bike, but back in the day, I smoked these coming and going on my Yamaha RD350
Yeh, right. 500 Mach 3 and H2 would leave the Yam 350 for dust in a straight line.
I bought a new 1969 Mach III, had the dealer install the optional (slightly lower) gearing that dropped one tooth on the front sprocket and added 2 on the rear, final drive. 1st and second gear were the wheelie gears if I were riding solo, 3rd gear would also pull the front tire up with a passenger on board. I weighed 160 at the time, I could not keep the front wheel down even if I had my balls hanging over the gas tank.
Fun bike for straight line racing, piss poor handling in the corners. I raced all comers, never lost a drag race! Even another 69 500 couldn't come close. That guy went back to Mt. Vernon and probably got the optional gears like I had. It wasn't even a close race. I can only imagine what that bike would have been like if there were longer swing arms like is available on some of these 200+ hp motorcycles.
I lost a lot of speed going to a 69 Triumph Bonneville, but boy could that Triumph handle!
A screaming 2- stroke polarizes: Some hate that noise , some love it. I love it.
I had a 1970 H1 in Candy Blue FCH911J (UK)
Fabulous machine.
J’adore, les deux temps c’est le top, un vrai plaisir.
You need to tune that puppy......
Great video fantastic bike sounds amazing stay safe 🇬🇧👍🏻
7:49 min. worth of awesome memories chrned up here.
You just can’t beat the Pure sound of a 2 stroke
Had 2 of those, sure miss the music!
Had a 73 750. Wild ride.
To bad there no way to send a pic here. I have a great one of it from 1980.
My pop had the same bike in the root beer and orange paint scheme.
Said it was one of the few bike he had that literally scared the sh*t out of him!
Keeping the front tire on the pavement was not an easy job! lol.
He ended up trading it for a '75 z1-B 900, which he's still kicking himself for ever letting go of.
That sound 🔝
i had that exact bike same color and all xcept the exhaust i gave 500 bucks for mine it was a fun ride for sure
Way better sounding than my 73 Yamaha IT175 2stroke
Used to have a 79 it175, road registered, never a dull moment
@@johnkear2268 mine runs good, it's like running a mini bike but it's fun
Ultimate Kawasaki Street machine there and I'm a Kawasaki man all the way Ken
I had a 500 Triple in high school and I'll tell you what I had fun with that bike 1970 I would love to do that one more time if you get a chance to get one of these bikes you will never regret it because nothing compares to it nothing you can get a Hayabusa but it is not the same thrill
My friend had a 250 s1 years ago very addictive sound specialy through tunnels 😜😜😜😜👍
Great sounding idle
Awesome. Put the stock airbox back on it will run a lot better.
also rejet carb's an lean out oil injector for today 2 stroke oil not need be so thck.
good thing is de-tuned for not widow maker mode ;)
My dad had one when I waz a kid...
She’s leaning on to much gas!
The have way more power/band than that in Europe.
It’s not Jettit Accordingly!
I used to ride this 2 gear up drop it 5 gear
Thought all gears wheelieing.
Best bike ever!
Small question?
This or a CR500 Supermoto?
GBA!
Strict emissions USA, we always get more Hp 🇬🇧, they never even got the rd500 v4 stateside, of course old school mechanics soon free the beast within ❤️🇺🇸
Miss my RD 400 RZ 350 owned mint ones the RD was raced and in a barn for years with a factory new tank still in the Yamaha box!
On my bucket list. Green or Blue, decked block and head, two into one, 2/3 fairing, cast rims, premium rubber, crash bah..
Nothing sounds like a two-stroke triple when you're givin it to her!🤙
Be prepared for 2 things ... 1. chassis flex and 2 a big surprise at about 3500 rpm on wide open throttle as it comes on the pipe ... hold on!
I find it comes in all in an insane rush around 6, and before you know it you're changing gear and the front wheel is trying to go airborne, hilarious fun and the induction noise is glorious, had lots of giggles on a 1972 H1B
Ill never sell my kawasaki green 73 h1...dad made me sell the first one in 1982 a 74 kawasaki green h1 and I never forgave him for that...Im 57 years old, and an old woman now-- but still ride my 6 vintage japanese bikes when the carbs arent being a PIA!
need to use Stabil fuel additive to keep carb's from gumming up
My very first bike at 8 years old was a Kawasaki 65 KX and that front wheel would come up in every gear
I had the 1976 KH 400 Kawasaki great little bike
That's a bad ass bike 👊
Simply......
AWESOME! 😀😃😀😃😀😃😀
Watch all your guys vids, finally have my favorite bike on video. Actually my favorite is the blue or orange 72 h2. My paps has a 75 h1 500
Now that is a beast would love a burn of that 😍
Badass the Mach 111 sounds like my old Polaris Indy 600.
This is definitely a survivor!👌😎🇺🇸
1/4 mile bring it on
Two stroke heads couldn’t be simpler. Just lots of fins which look cool and keep it cool.
My 82 KE 175 had 10,000 miles when I sold it. Should not have sold it.
Ran like new.
I've got a mint 73 Yamaha IT175 5000mi that still starts with a couple kicks
In 1969 I had a '68 Suzuki T500 Titan and my cousin had a '69 Kawasaki H1 500. The H1 was, of course, faster; but it did not handle or brake too well. Still it was an awesome bike which advanced motorcycling to a new era of performance. Would love to have one in my stable for riding around the neighborhood. But alas, its down the list a ways since its not really the best for a trip of any sort. I'm guessing the modern tires on this bike and the dual disks on the '73 improve it vastly over the early H1s.
The T500 Suzuki sounded incredible. Probably the best sounding 2 stroke. I think this guy was using the low down torque on this 500triple but it's probably best not to push these old bikes to much. 2 strokes need to be in there power band really where everything just works out right and most of the fuel gets burnt in the cylinder and the back pressure keeps everything in place.
The widowmaker. A guy around here was left paralyzed by one of these beasts. Average handling, little to no brakes, but when you hit that power band you're thrown into the next dimension, lol.
Questo motore gira benissimo complimenti !!!!!!
those 500 h1's flat hurt ya i see that one has expansion chambers nice !!!
mine got hot and locked up..need to repair
Sick!
Awesome
