The Suzuki 800 is a solid performer no question, the Team Clutching is also top notch-The Cat sleds May not be the most sexy but they get job done! Great review!
@@mxr7586 well I am quite versed in the historical specifications of the Procross Chassis. So if you would like to have a debate-game on 😁. This particular sled has the 800 Suzuki engine...
This was just before Cat was bought out by Textron in 2017. The quality has increased since then. 2014-2016 there was definitely some corner cutting going on as Cat was struggling to stay alive.
shperax: Yes, I always wonder why people say Textron has ruined Cat. The production lead times mean most of the improvements must have been at least on the design board at the time of sale, so clearly Textron came ready to invest. And they’ve done some bold long-term stuff to sort out inventory, etc.
@@AkatarawaJapan Textron makes many heavy duty military vehicles. Their quality control is excellent and much of their practices have transferred over to the cat plant.
comical. textron shit on the brand, the ctec2 is nowhere as reliable as the suzuki 800ho. have you even owned a newer sled because the fit and finish since textron took over has been garbage. the intake plenum for instan was complet shit on the 18-21. they injested snow and destroyed engines. enjoy your stupid monorail sled and dated 800cc, cough I mean 600cc catalyst.
What do you mean by corner cutting? Im currently looking at a 2016 or 2017 as I do not agree with the ctec motor and would much prefer the Suzuki. By this video it sounds to my like the 16 is a solid machine.
@@bulkleyoutdoors The Ctech motors have always been decent. It's everything else you have to worry about. Cat only recently fixed their factory clutch. Only now you don't need to buy an aftermarket one. It is possible that by now the previous owner has already paid for all the aftermarket fixes. Just be aware when buying used that most guys sell them when the motor needs a rebuild. This is about every 5000 miles or 8000 km for any 2-stroke engine.
@@AkatarawaJapan thank you😊 , here in Canada Polaris is most often associated with engine issues, followed by needing to be a big man literally to handle a g4, seems everyone agrees AC is a good fit for many eben though many choose the other big 2)☺again, greetings from Canada )))

They're sexy with the lights down low.
Oh yess i think they are!😊
It’s not a Suzuki motor. They don’t make them anymore.

@@mxr7586 yes they used the Suzuki up till 2017. The 18’s have the ctec 2 motor
"Like the engine shat itself " I busted up laughing.
Does anyone know when you should change pistons on the 2013-2015 engines? Or even newer artic cats as hardcore and the 800s,
compression test. the suzuki 800ho lasted forever so your probably good.

Nice sled
question, if buying used, 2017 M8000 vs 2018 above Ctec2 800? under textron? thanks!
I’m not an expert on the tech but I have both engines in the shed and the CTec is a good step up.
