Guests Denied Boarding. Cruise Oversold (again).

  • Guests were denied boarding the Quantum of the Seas literally at the cruise terminal. The cruise was oversold meaning there were no cabins available for these guests who watched their cruise vacation sail away from the pier. This is why we never recommend guarantee cabins for any of our clients.

    This should not fall back on your insurance company. This is entirely Royal Caribbean's fault. The cruise company should cover all travel related expenses, a 100% refund, plus a really sweet offer on a free cruise later.

    Thank you for posting this! So many awful stories about Royal Caribbean. I remember when they were a reputable company. But now.....
    I will never cruise Royal.... I do not trust them at all. They do not give a crap about people, humans.
    These families took time off of work, flew to the terminal, took their children out of school, arranged for long term parking, packed & repacked for days, arranged for pet care, had their mail put on hold, purchased new outfits and necessities, and, and, and.....
    They invested all that money & time into their dream vacation, and the dream becomes a NIGHTMARE!
    Makes me sick....this total disregard, disrespect, narcissistic, lack of empathy and concern for PEOPLE!
    There are plenty of Big Fish in the sea, Royal Caribbean and you are sinking your reputation fast. I don't trust you, and i doubt i am alone!
    And.....I'm sure no one ever told them this could happen when they were offering them a lower price to let the staff pick the cabin. So it makes me mad when people say "I always pick my cabin for this reason" as if this is the passengers fault. I assure you no one told them that they MAY NOT GET A CABIN AT ALL!
    I'm just so mad. This has to be crushing for these families.🥲

      Glad to see I'm not the only one with a bone to pick with Royal. I'd rather take my chances with Somali pirates than Royal

      It's a MUST! We have only done it once in 20 years of cruising and that was because we were required to if we wanted to sail with a special travel agent rate. But that was so nerve wracking I don't think we'll do that again. :)

    They better be offering customers DOUBLE the credit vlaue of their cruise otherwise I'd be demanding to speak to the CEO. Overbooking cruises is simply a ridiculous way of doing business and should be punishable by law.
