The Speed Blaster had been assembled incorrectly. It was missing the steel sleeve that meters flow of media.
I found one at AutoValue for just $5.00.
    Now it works great.

Looks like it works pretty good! And it's lightweight! We are always praying for you and Lydia 🙏🙏🙏

It has many advantages over a cabinet or the big cannister blaster. Just plug in the hose and go.

Good fix. I got a load of river sand, screened it and dried it on the end of a big diesel storage tank.It worked but was really interesting. Blasted a Michigan paddle pan.Happy week and God Bless Yall!

      Here is an odd one.
Your comment got sent to Held For Review.
Get this. The reason was bad words?
I set up the list of words that would send things to the Hold For Review.
Not a one of them is in your comment.
Is the AI concerned because you used the word paddle?
      Maybe blasted?
Can't be Good fix. That is something everyone at goggle is striving for when they have a little money set aside.
I think I know. It was the word interesting. Too many syllables for a 4 year old AI to understand.
PS. Lydia wondered if it was Good Fix until I read her what I wrote.

I was first introduced to sandblasting when I started at the foundry. The blaster was a huge cabinet type that was used to clean patterns for the shell molding machines. It took of the resin buildup like blowing away dust.
Over the years I have setup multiple pieces of sand and shot blast equipment. The Speed Blaster is much better than the siphon type blasters. Not as good as the pressure tank or air entrained cabinet feed systems but it did the job well. It will be nice for body work. 😀😎

Like I pointed out the media makes a big difference in the action of the gun. I intend to rig a better The next biggest concern is the nozzle.
The media will abrade the nozzle until it no longer controls the direction of the blast and lets the effect dwindle.
I have spares for the big blaster and I expect to obtain some spare parts for the cabinet blaster I have ready to install in the Annex. 😀😎

It was suppose to go up at noon. I got wrapped up in the assassination news and didn't check on it.
The little blaster did really well once I figured out how it went together.
It will be a nice addition to the shop. 😀😎

A little patience goes a long way. I get lazy I get rust converting farm implement enamel and roll it on. One step once the item is reasonably clean no primer nothing. The sfm requirements on such air tools are crazy 5 to 10+ that's why it's gone to airless on demand systems for them along with paint sprayers. Who wants a 200lb cast iron air compresser anymore with the noise and 240 plug. I'm glad you got your 10 bucks out of that blaster 👍.

The rust converting phosphoric acid based coatings are great at covering rust damage.
I would never pay the $70.00 to $100.00 for the Speed Blaster new.
Picking one up for $5.00 falls under the budget restraints of the Workshop.
The new electric tools have pretty much eliminated the need for a compressor like mine.
I setup factories in the 80's and 90's. I have installed 6 Kaiser screw compressors along with the required storage tanks and piping.
In the late 90's battery operated tools reached the tipping point and I began buying them for assembly line support equipment.
Air operated tools have been stored away in a wooden tool box that my Dad gave me when I was a kid. If I have a big job requiring lots of torque and that can be brought into the shop or at least in range of the 100 foot air hose on the rack I will bring out the pneumatics. Otherwise not having the hose is the same as not having the extention cord, with the addition of not having to deal with compressor maintenance.
The storage rack was a handy example of what the blaster could do when it was setup correctly.
I regularly use Rustoleum shaker cans for shop projects and around the house. Good stuff.
I have painted a few tractors and a lot of implements with it too. Best when they are yard art.
Rusty isn't my thing. Patina means the tool has been left unused by someone who never expected to need one anyway.
We share that we have or currently are making our living with the tools we have. We have them to use them, so we take care of them.
Admittedly the rack in the tractor shed was mouse attacked. It will hopefully avoid that in the future.😀😎
