In its present condition you could say that, but if it never had the roof removed it would’ve most likely been scrapped or crashed long ago, so you could argue it’s been saved from certain destruction by being rendered completely useless. 😂

Doesn't look as if it's been strengthend underneath. It's going to be worth 10% of what it would have been. I thought I knew a fair bit about Cosworths but never heard of executive.
I wonder, since the shell has not been stamped , could one just weld in a the missing parts of the shell and use the shell for an Official reshell? You’d need another car but im sure you can find a rusty shell with docs. Thoughts ?
Hey dear friend It’s absolutely and perfectly legal to reshell an existing vehicle. I have been offered to box this vehicle up for around 15k. I don’t think is the right thing to do…the shell will never be exactly like it left the factory 👍🏻

@ in the UK we had cars with leather and AC. Plus the UK cars all had electric rear windows u like euro spec cars. The executive spec is like the final edition. A badge exercise that from what I can see add nothing extra over what’s available as an option. Especially in the UK. What is puzzling is it’s a 88 car that’s original. But has a 92 model year dash fitted and a 90 spec body facelift to 4x4 and even has a flush boot lock. Not the push in type from a pre 90 Sierra. Also it’s very doubtful a car built on the production line and sent to a dealer would have no chassis number or engine number.

@ not disputing there is none UK special editions. But I very much doubt in 1988 the had 92 model year dashboards and other bits for later facelift cars. Remember between a Sierra 89 and a 92 facelift there was at least 450 separate updates. One of them being the new dash board

I have a Ltd edition 4x4 saph from Switzerland, it has shark tooth wheels but flat rear speakers without the tweeters so maybe they were all a bit parts bin specials at the time?
This makes no sense unless Ford had a time machine! as it could not leave the factory in early 89 with 1992 spec dash, 4x4 bonnet etc, all the conversion must have been done many years later to an unused stock 2wd car. Begging for a new shell swap across.

@@monkeymagic4555 As I said the Executive spec did exist in Italy but not in 1989 when this car was built, my guess is it started life as standard 2wd with a/c got chopped up and then in 1992 the dealer added all the late 4x4 bits to it to promote the executive spec for the run out cars and added those labels at the same time to this one.
From what I am aware of this was a special order from a museum. They ordered a fully loaded executive apart from air con. The production line paper work clearly states DO NOT STAMP ENGINE AND CHASSIS. THE 500 Italian piece were made for the road. With all the sympathy in the world this eu spec vehicle is unknown to the uk market unfortunately hence why people even at the last weekend at the NEC couldn’t get their head around it. I will be putting up a fully detailed video on utube to describe the complete vehicle regards marsel
