Okay so it's ultimately about the "Glam" isn't it, you put it in which ever way you want this ad is all about selling you the "Jewellery" and the glam which is what a women's mind has been reduced to look for in the outside world or is expected to look for, forcing yourself to do things just because you are being expected not to do that is in a way is exactly like falling into the trap of being someone else that you may or may not be just to prove "others" wrong. A women wanting to wear uncomfortable skimpy cloths uncomfortable high heals just to prove that she can wear whatever she wants proves that women can be made to wear exactly the way men want the women to be seen clothed, just the way this ad manipulates you to see yourself as a successful women wearing "jewellery", Wearing skimpy cloths, having an ambition in a place you are not expected to is not an expression of freedom but its the lack of it, freedom is doing things that you can do and doing it with such inherent ease which others may or may not appreciate which others may or may not find extraordinary ...
+Jai Hind oh please. We still want to look gorgeous for ourselves even when we are working and making way more money than you are. Who said we dress up to impress other people?
Oh really ! ... Though i must say I have nothing against women wanting to look "gorgeous" just to feel nice in front of a mirror....ha ha ha... it kind of seems hypocritical when someone put's an argument like that of yours to do things that are considered hip - i am not doing it for them i am doing it for myself- , but Lets put you in an island which has no one else but you (not even your female friends ), and with all the things that you consider as worthy of making you feel better in front of a mirror, it would be pretty interesting to see for how many days you go around looking "gorgeous" for all those plants and trees around you, it would be pretty interesting to see for how long you will put yourself through the ridiculously uncomfortable ritual of painting your lips and face for those pelicans feasting on the school of fish day in and day out or for that matter the swaying coconut trees, it would be interesting to see for how long you will roam around in the sands of that island wearing those tiring stilettos .... if you are put through this kind of strenuous regimen only then we will be able to ascertain the genuineness in your "View" . ....
I have no idea how good the products of Tanishq are, but they sure hit the shot with their ads. Who the heck ever comes up with their ad ideas deserves a rise in their salary.... ✨
Maybe not Mr. Mishra, but i don't see anyone piping up when jewllery ads show a woman dressed for the 100th time as a demure bride and nothing else. If a brand is doing good work rather than producing the same old stereotypical trash using their own marketing dollar for and elevating message rather than tripe, surely it deserves support from the thinking public.

It's about the ideology of this ad. Not what it sells. If you read Nandita Das's post about this idea, you will understand the relevance of this message.

Notice how the TARGET GROUP which is working women, for whom the ad actually is, LOVE the ad. Therefore the ad is a success. The TG identify with it, they say it is exactly like them. But if you look at the comments section, you see 100s of insecure men ranting rather venomously against this ad that isn't even meant for them. Seriously do you see women going on Gillette Mach 3 Ad threads saying this is nonsense, this is fantasy, no men I know have abs like this, down with Gillette, they are ruining men for us. Seriously, this is the 21st century gentlemen. These ads are not fantasy, they are very honestly reflective of the lives of a million women. They are not about men. The product is also not for men. And they're not saying anything so 'controversial'. There is nothing controversial about women saying they are long term job prospects, that they get ahead on the basis of their work, that just like men, they can look good and work well too.
This will be now on last thing on my mind too, thanks for giving me points to fight my side ... And soon I will kick these taunts out to because I finally realize for when these are the topics related a successful woman these things will always be last thing on my mind 🙂thank you

how is that an ad for jewelry also whole advt seems contradictory, one thing you say girls are more than just beautiful and on the other hand you show how beautiful and different your jewelry makes a woman..
How?? I actually know women like this. I actually am a woman like this. I have colleagues who are like this. How is it far from the truth? And do you expect every ad to be a reality movie? Brutally beautiful to see you counter each and every critic. Most advertising and marketing people does that as part of ownership. If working women think that everyman is jealous of them and everyman is making bad comments on their character then why did they get married. It's better to stay single than living with someone like this.

It's better to be nice to people and polite and do hard work. Rather than be so hard work and expect your rude and arrogant behaviour to be ignored.
And also if the atmosphere demands then we must dress according to our profession... 😊
Dont ever put perfume or any cosmetic product after wearing jewellery. Just put perfume or cosmetics before wearing jewellery.

Haha. Commenting on a video is not trolling. Commenting on other people's comments, without responding to the content of what they are saying, instead labeling them as trolls, that is trolling, didn't you know?
Actually Srividya I'm sorry I wrote that. The flurry of thoughtless comments upset me and reacted unthinkingly. Though I don't understand why you dislike the ad. All brands need to market, all of them showcase their TGs mindsets and take slice of life imagery. All of them try to capture what the TG feels. This brand is targetted at Urban Women and it's about them wearing jewllery to work. For a change the ad does not show a woman trying to be a showpiece for men. It's selling jewellry just like a million other ads are, but it's doing this capturing the mindset of a particualr kind of woman. I don't get why this bothers you. You sound intelligent.

Ads like these are good but most of them seem to be focused on one thing alone - women making their way in the corporate world. And it is corporate slavery of some sort indeed. It's okay to be professionally ambitious but not at the cost of your own well being (mental + physical) if it is not something you *have* to do, i.e. to make ends meet.
