- The 500 cc DBD34 was introduced in 1956, with clip-on handlebars, the same big finned alloy engine with a newly designed head,[7] 38 mm ( 1 1/2" ) bell-mouth Amal carburettor and swept-back exhaust. The DBD34 had a 110 mph (180 km/h) top speed. The Gold Star dominated the Isle of Man Clubmans TT that year. Later models had an ultra close-ratio gearbox (RRT2)[with a very high first gear, enabling 60 mph (97 km/h) plus before changing up to second. Amongst the options available were a tachometer and a 190mm full width front brake that gave a larger lining area than the standard 8" single sided unit. A scrambles version was also offered. Many of the machines were exported to the USA where there was high demand for them. A series of special models were made for this lucrative market.
Production ended in 1963
One of the most beautiful bikes to grace any road anywhere forever.
It was worth waiting 40 years to get one . Cheers
the most beautiful impractical bike in the world
Totally agree with you but great to ride when you getting it right on bends and country roads with no traffic . Cheers
Moto Guzzis ?!!

Now that's a goldstar
Thanks , It's a original one and i enjoy riding it . Cheers
Fantastic looking bike bud.
Thanks mate hopefully i have it all sorted now
What a wonderful bike! Those gauges are wild looking at first.👍
Yes it's a bit special . The old smiths chronometric dials look at them and guess what it says with them moving all over the place . Cheers Anthony
Stunning bike and the gauges are amazing too! 😮
Yes it's a nice bike but a bit of a bugger to ride that's why it's so enjoyable though . Cheers
It is so strange to see such kind of a dash, I mean the opposite direction of the speed and rpms indication. Otherwise a wonderful bike. Thanks for sharing it bro. Drop by when you have time. :)
Takes some getting used to with the gear change on the right and ignition and carburettor right to start it . Cheers mate
@@norfolkandgoodmotovlogs Sure, this is an old school bike. :)
Wow that's got to put a smile on your face all day long , wicked bike you got , love the hand signals bet you have to think about them in advance, keep them vids coming mate 👍
I don't do the proper right turn signal as most people don't recognise it . Yes it's the most fun you can do with your clothes on . It's demanding to ride as you have to think all the time right side gear lever 1 up 3 down shifting and no idle set up so you have to keep the revs up when cornering and taking off . Cheers mate glad you enjoyed it
@@norfolkandgoodmotovlogs lol yes most people would think your just giving a wave to another motorist , your probably right it's as close as you can get with your clothes on , brilliant 😄
I had one modified. 608. CC. Road it all over California. USA. I went every where. I had cosworth piston. High lift cam. Stainless steel cam followers. Stainless steel push rods. High gear. Ratios. She was my baby. I have a lot of fond. Memories. I wish I still had her she really liked to run Lemay Nelson. Vancouver Washington pacific north west.
Yes you only know how great they are to ride after you own one . Will not be letting mine go riding till i can't get my leg over . Thanks for commenting

@@norfolkandgoodmotovlogs Wow. that's bloomin great. She is a beauty and sounds delicious
Involving motorcycle.Glue and lockwire the kickstart rubber. In the event of an off or collision, bare hands don't fare very well when scraping along the road.
Yes you are right should be wearing gloves i was wearing them up to that point but pulled in the layby and forgot to put them on . Don't think it's the proper rubber as it's too loose so i think i will get a new one and glue it . Cheers
👍😀
Cheers glad you liked it
@@norfolkandgoodmotovlogs nice and shiny! 👍😀
The problem with British kickstart rubbers is they are made from rubber, and last a couple of problematic months. Japanese rubbers, on the other hand, are made from plastic and can last for 40 years or more.
Did 'nt know that . Cheers
Best to wear gloves...
I normally do but i forgot to put them back on after stopping at the layby . Cheers
