I made this last night, my husband is Palestenian. I am Latina but my mother in law taught me how to make it. It was the first dish I had with his family when I met them. Nostalgia for sure ❤
Mashallah sister i get so happy when i hear of other spanish reverts may Allah bless you and your family im gona try and make this dish soon i tried it in Dallas it was really good
This is a gorgeous mix that you see often in my big city. Hispanic with Arabic. Beautiful ♡ I have always always dreamt of making a Spanish Arabic fusion restaurant. Best of both worlds u know
I'm a Jordainian and I for some reason feel honored to have my country's national dish being made by you mashallah that look amazing too! Love from Jordan 😋♥️♥️♥️
The rice is supposed to be a bit yellow. You cook the rice with the meat stock, not plain water. And the meat you should have sauteed it to get rid of the blood before adding the yoghurt liquid.
I make the meat stock separately (and yes brown the meat slightly!) until the meat is half cooked cooked and then add some of the broth and meat to the Laban and jameed mixture. The rest of the broth goes in to make turmeric rice. Interesting to see his way too though.
@@nscwb_.8261 No, that's actually not true only similar countries share dishes like Lebanon, Palestine and Syria would make mansaf but you wouldn't find any other country that makes this dish
@@marahabutayeh bruh, saudi ppl do cook mansaf, maybe not the same way we jordanians cook it and maybe without jameed but they still cook it,... specially north saudi
Oh my days I had this in Qatar & I gotta tell ya .. don't eat this if you have any plans you will sleep immediately.. I loved it .. the taste is unique..
I love mansaf. Favourite dish of all time. As a jordanian i will say some of us dont use parsley on it. Personally i think its better without it. So please try it and tell me what you think
As a jordanian i appreciate the effort highly!!! Even though you should boil the meat with only water before cooking it with yoghurt. This ensures a cleaner taste and preserve the meat taste only to the meat without taking over the sauce taste. All in all Great Job habibi! رمضان كريم❤
Very Nice. This is so mouthwatering. Such videos make poor people in developing countries feel their miseries a bit more pronounced. How I wish I could eat it with you. 😭
Assalamualaikum! Would like to ask, what is the best replacement of the jamid when cooking mansaf? Apparently i couldnt find jamid in my country and im really missing the Jordanian Mansaf from Amman! Hope to hear for a repy! Jazakallah Kheir
I have been wanting to make this recipe for YEARS but just cannot find jameed in my country. And importing it is so expensive. Is there any close substitute? ( I doubt it tho)
I have a question, can you add salt to the meat or does it does something else when you add it ? Will it ruin it or are you not supposed to add salt to the meat ?
*Asalamualaikum! i wanted to try your dishes but they have chicken or beef in it... can you please make something tasty with vegetables only.* *Also i love the way you say Bismillah*
A wow nice....eat it while in Mecca recently.I would love to cook with the korban mutton I had yesterday. The meat still fresh..will surely taste good.InsyaAllah.😅
We usually boil the meat separately first with some spices, then save the broth and add that into the jameed which has been boiling, we add maybe a cup or 2 of the meat broth to dial down the salt content of the jameed… then add the meat itself to the jameed to boil. That way the spices like cardamom, bay leaves, sweet clover, etc blend. But this is good too!
If you want a more authentic version of your mansaf, ditch the 3eeran, use almond instead of pine seeds, use korkom with rice, add ghee to gameed, put gameed on the margoog before you put the rice, add little ghee to the gameed/lamb, eat a chilled white onion with the mansaf, and finally say besemmeAllah and eat with your hand (make small mansaf balls) 😊
I mean, it is authentic, everywhere in jordan does it different, my mom makes it different from my grandma, and my friends eat it differently, so he did good❤ also nice to see another fellow Jordanian!❤
This is so similar to kashmiri yakhni. The difference is the dehydrated yoghurt, we don't add that. And we add fried onions and some spices to it. No chilli. I love ittt
Definitely there are spices And arumatics... My mom adds onion, bay leaves, and black pepper to the meat while it cooks, she adds just a tiny touch of tumric on the shanina (the yougert thing idk what its called in english) and maybe other spices that i dont remember rn few years ago my mom discovered pre packeged mansaf spice mix, and she use it very often till this day I love my mom's mansaf, good luck with you eid cooking :D

As a person from Jordan this is approved.
This deffo an acquired taste!

Also not Jasmine Rice ! It should be short grain rice that is a bit sticky
No and no no for Laban 3eeran! 😂 this a technique used just to save on Jameed bcuz it is expensive
I loved that too. But y our method is shortest one.

Do you not add salt and any spices to the meat???
This is so similar to kashmiri yakhni. The difference is the dehydrated yoghurt, we don't add that. And we add fried onions and some spices to it. No chilli. I love ittt
so if it is Ramadan, do you cook at night?
I'm Jordanian and I haven't had this in a long time
Don't we need to add any spices? I'm about to make this for eid, I just want to be absolutely sure
Definitely there are spices And arumatics... My mom adds onion, bay leaves, and black pepper to the meat while it cooks, she adds just a tiny touch of tumric on the shanina (the yougert thing idk what its called in english) and maybe other spices that i dont remember rn

I love my mom's mansaf, good luck with you eid cooking :D
I feel bad for asking, but are there viable substitutes for that dried yogurt/soup starter?
I doubt it, there's really no other seasonings and a lot of the flavour comes from it, swapping it out would change the flavour profile
Where on earth will i find this jameed thing
You should first cook the meat , and then mix the meat stock with 3eeran and gamed when the mixture boils you can add the cooked meat .
