JD made an interesting point regarding there being no music for the kids anymore. I agree, but I think it’s more of a societal issue.
Kids nowadays are not having anywhere near the same childhood as kids growing up from the 80’s all the way through to 2010. Less innocent play outside with friends, more social media/online interaction… we can all agree that the kids nowadays are exposed to so much a lot quicker due to social media and unfortunately growing up a lot faster then they should, so I believe the music being put out is only reflecting that…
    Art imitates life

In 1984, 1985 and 1986, Mauldin produced the New York City Fresh Festival where his son, Jermaine Dupri was the opening act. The Festival featured rap pioneers: Whodini, Kurtis Blow, Run DMC and the Fat Boys, and in the late 1980s, he honed his production and tour management skills with R&B artists: Cameo, Luther Vandross and Anita Baker and formed an artists management group. Through the management group, Mauldin helped spearhead the musical careers of: Arrested Development, Kris Kross, Da Brat and Xscape.

I’m going to say this.. JD’s greatest accomplishments in my opinion was the launching of Anthony Hamilton’s career and The rebirth of Mariah Carey’s career. Many people don’t realize that Anthony had been toiling around the music industry since 1991 with little to no success until JD executive produced Comin from where I’m from. A major success that made him a Neo Soul superstar! Secondly, Mariah’s Emancipation of Mimi album may have been her best album ever and definitely most urban album in my opinion. A classic that reignited her career forward when she was coming off of a major flop album on Virgin Records after leaving Columbia! Shoutout to JD on having a stellar career! 💯👍🏽🎶

I think Mike Bivens signed and put out Another Bad Creation (who were from Atlanta) before Kris Kross came out. So, ABC actually cracked the door for the ATL movement even though the company (Biv 10/Motown)wasn’t based out there.

Super dope interview. The Bow Wow outburst brought me here. So glad this interviewer gave JD his props and flowers because it's well overdue. They be tryna downplay JD and they out of order. Lemme say something right quick. For all you clowns that be tryna sht on Bow Wow y'all need to cut it out. I was already grown listenin to dude and he had the star power and likability but nothin was ever sucker about him not even then. Fa sho not now. Yall be tryna laugh at somebody just always gotta be goofy w/the jabs and he put in the work that got your favs the opportunities that they NOW have. He opened up that space. This was the whole point of the host giving flowers and respect to JD because mfs be tryna front on JD like he ain't do all he HAS done. I think he meant to say that the CONCEPT of 106 & park was his idea and we gone wait on Stephen Hill to at least own to that. I don't know if Bow got more beef w/JD other than this interview so/w respect to that on the side he need to slow up the disrespect to JD. No excuse. Fk these clowns out here & what they tahn bout you don't front on ya big homie for NOBODY. NEVER. & Especially these goofies that talk on this social media and who don't even purchase the product or support the movement financially.

This is why Atlanta, though they seemingly run rap, nEVER really get the respect they deserve. As the interview made clear, wasn’t nobody listening to “Reasonable Doubt” then in the south. One of my Aces from S.W.A.T. (South West Atlanta) and he wasn’t thinking about no JayZ, cause he was heavily cultured being from Atlanta.
