Normally I don’t really like rom hacks that spam a ton of random memes but I really like how you did it. You used memes that are actually relevant to the subject of the game and they are spaced perfectly so each one is an enjoyable surprise to see. I really enjoyed this.
i decided to give every level a name ala super monkey ball 2 onwards (in order) 00 - Training 01 - Preschool 02 - Stairwell 03 - Tight Curves 04 - Trampoline 05 - Jump Park 06 - Crossing the Pit 07 - Down and Around 08 - Sinkhole 09 - Pachinko 10 - Bounce-pad 11 - Teeter 12 - Platforms 13 - Catwalk 14 - Batter 15 - The Fixer
I've been watching simple's content on UA-cam for several years now. And decided to finaly make a Romhack, so I followed his twitch streams lately and it has been really fun. When I saw your hack it blew my mind a bit, like the Powerpoint hack. Its crazy to me that this IS sm64 when it nearly feels like an entirely different game My hack (Marios SimpleSlips) isn't good looking, or even technically impressive (didn't bother with textures and only modified existing code), but it was a good way to get me to do and learn something new, and I'll definitely do something for the next Comp ! I'm really not at all a decomp expert since it was my first hack, but I do want to make an entertaining and (maybe?) helpful video for people who don't know much about Romhacking. Because when I started I was kinda confused and lost a lot. (the discord helped tho) It would be "THE SM64 MODDING STRUGGLE" showing annoying bugs I encountered and how to fix them + tips for blender and implementing code. Sorry for rambling, it's just that interesting. But yeah, good hack !

Now, imagine that technology is used to fling a plumber with overalls around a 3D environment... Ahhh shit, we lost another one. Bring in the next Victorian era child, I'll try to go slower this time.
Now someone needs to make a multiplayer version of this mod, how would it work, idk lol. Maybe both players can control the board so it’s just chaos with both people fighting to have control.
Well, I needed them to be 3D for rotation and I wanted them to look like the original coins, they ended up being around 300 tris each which would be a lot but there isn’t too much going on in each level so it ended up alright
@@cowquack the reason why i asked you about it is cause i have this "metal panel texture" from some unknown garry's mod map (that's used in the old "underground base" map from roblox (which is also called area 51) ) and my brain made a connection since the 2 textures look similar (mildly gray metallic blue with a bevel)
well the ending certainly leaves room for a sequel
