  • The term ‘hidden gem’ gets used a lot - probably a little too often - when it comes to describing travel destinations. For Taiwan, however, it feels justified. There’s so much to see and experience on this beautiful island in Asia. In this video I’m sharing some of my top picks, but make sure to check the rest of our Taiwan (台灣) series for more.👇

I'm planning to go to Taiwan later this year and have been watching quite a few travel vlogs to get ideas on what to do and where to go. This is, hands down, the best overview I've seen. I didn't even know those re-purposed creative zones existed until I saw this video. Now to watch the other videos in the Taiwan playlist (and beyond). Nice one Eileen!

So I am back from my first 14 days trip to Taiwan. Great country! Great nature! and the food no end of new dishes to try. Wow!! Seems like we went to Taiwan just for the food! ,At the central market in Taipei you could see almost every creature is used for food, I saw live snakes, live frogs and other sea creatures! A very advanced country with air conditions everywhere! Orderly, clean, no chewing gum allowed on trains and buses, no wild crossing over the streets! Almost no one seems to smoke! Public transportation made very easy to find your way around Taipei. There is nothing you won't find in this country. It is worth a visit if you just want to shop. It definitely is a hidden gem! The people so friendly and the service you get at the hair dressers! Wow a massage of my shoulder and neck included! If you are looking for a summer vacation go to the south. The beach is wondeful and the hotels very nice. The best time to visit is after the monsoon season I would go mid October. The weather is still warm (25-30°) but endurable. There is so much more to explore you would need more than just 14 days.

I've been watching your videos in Taiwan. How do you get tickets for the drum performance? Do you know how often they perform at that theater? :D

    • @EileenAldis

Hi Sam! I believe you can get tickets at the door. It's quite a large theatre. As for how often they play I'm not sure. Best to check ahead! :)

Wow ! Though I often go on a tour around taiwan , some of these secret and gorgeous spots I still don't hear at all. BTY , I recommend you visit the National Museum of Marine Biology , where a gigantic and cool transparent aquarium is located.

i actually think Taiwan resembles a lot of Japan, the streets, architecture, colors and the urban sprawl is very dense but not very vertical
