it's quite the change of pace from my more informative videos, but idk, during my rut i've been questioning what i ultimately want to do, and this seemed like a healthy balance between my desires for altruism, productivity, and self expression.

John, you've inspired me at age 54 to use PKM to maximize output in life but I'm still crippled by learning about every other type of PKM platform and exploring different ways to store notes. I purchased your vault and can mos def benefit from what you have to offer in terms life efficiency. You've achieved a place amongst PKM royalty and hope you will remain on UA-cam. Are your parents disappointed about stopping university?

i will be staying on youtube, it's more so that i also want to expand my potential reach, for more than outside just pkm and productivity, to help people my age live better lives. that kind of content might stay on my alt channel though, we will see.
they're surprisingly accepting with it considering the fact that they both went through formal education. but since its somewhat proven to be sustainable and that i'm probably capable of recovering if things don't work out, they're giving me a chance to pursue this ambitious dream :D
something more entrepreneurial is my end goal in life, so why not start now? ;)

16 hours gaming to 16 hours work sounds like fiction
Throughout elementary and high school I would impulsively grind out fps shooters to try and play professionally, or Minecraft and other multiplayer games with friends, or just being addicted to whatever pokemon game I was into on my DS.
It did take a few months, but at one point I was following a 2 hour work / 30 minute break system all the way from waking up to going to bed (which technically isnt all work but breaks are still a required part of the process).
Idk, just having such a strong realization on the life and learning/growth i could be doing compelled me to make the switch. sure there were bouts of relapses here and there, but i unhealthily shut myself in to work on everything.
life is often stranger than fiction... few understand this!

Looking forward! How about some behind-the-scenes on how you created your VTuber character and maybe your sites and link in bio? A tour of your Discord server? It looks like you're into personality typing, MBTI and the likes so perhaps you can share more about that too? Ah, I could relate to the hyperfixation as a fellow INFJ! Excited for your other contents. Yeah, you can always branch out. Actually, I'm using Obsidian for anime and manga so you could probably mesh your love for anime and Obsidian here as well or in your other channel? I haven't seen other UA-camrs with Obsidian and anime niche. Well, there are some tutorials on utilizing Obsidian for movies and books. I've seen plenty who use Notion for anime, manga and games but not Obsidian. I also use Notion, mostly for manga. Maybe you can try and do a video on the Shiba Inu theme as I haven't seen any video about that theme besides the creator's; that looks suitable for anime and manga, the creator of that theme seems like they're into anime and manga too. Are you also planning to livestream here or in Twitch? You're the only one doing Obsidian tutorials as a VTuber which is already a niche! I could totally see the potential! ☺
Thanks for the ideas :) My Vtuber was just brainstormed together with the artist, and I was questioning on whether it's worth diving into how I set my actual channel and social media brand up/
mbti and psychology is pretty interesting, just not sure if i would be to one to make content on it. if anything it would just be personal experiences rather than explaining, since i wouldn't be a fan of editing the visuals for those types of videos xd
And yeah it wouldn't hurt to share my anime setup, but to be fair the organization has been neglected so im not sure if i want to share it yet haha
I would do a theme on minimal first since it's what i use most, haven't tried shiba inu yet.
i already did start streaming on twitch
obsidian + vtuber is quite the small niche, eventually i'll branch out to general productivity or self-improvement :p

Your story resonates a lot with me John. I was also a video game addicted teenager who turned their life around by diving into the PKM sphere and becoming a workaholic. However, by learning more about myself and reigniting my childlike curiosity I have created a much healthier relationship with my work.
Now I seek to help people other gamers use gamification techniques to enter flow more consistently and make real life pursuits more enjoyable. I create content related to Obsidian, gamification, the flow state, and book summaries. I will be sure to message you in the coming weeks on Twitter. It would be an honor to have you on my podcast.

I've recently discovered Capacities and Tana, they are great. Can you do a video comparing these WYSIWYG platforms to Obsidian? 😁
Hmm, I haven't even had access to Tana yet haha, at the moment I'm trying to work on imitating the features on Tana into Obsidian like supertags so fingers crossed that will work out well :p
Haven't heard of capacities though, maybe once I get access and have time then I will.
My goal is to use Obsidian to earn a masters degree.
Godspeed o7 PKM is an unfair advantage for schooling, really helping overcome the limitations of traditional note taking and brain capacity.

I think express yourself like that just take you beyond expectatives!, In a similar way I am a little stuck on my personal life objetives, but start to think that just need to disapear anxiety and enjoy all, just ened disciple to live well and enjoy everything, stay well bro! I will write you to get advices!
Thank you, and yeah, join me on this journey of becoming our true selves and pursuing our ideal lives :) Anxiety has always been on the back of my mind, but just realizing that it's a minor obstacle in comparison to the benefits of aiming for your goals is worth the temporary pain in comparison to regret at the end of your life.
