I don’t usually comment on UA-cam, but I’m a really early subscriber of yours and I work in finance. Obsidian has been the most valuable thing I’ve added to my workflow, and that’s down to your comprehensive tutorials and the level of quality you put into it. I can tell you put a lot of effort into these videos - for which I’m thankful for. It’s crazy how this channel only has just 10k subs. No nonsense, jargon or clickbait. Just an information gold mine. Just wanna say keep up what you’re doing man, absolutely love your videos 🫶
aww this means a lot, thank you for the comment and loyalty :) it warms my heart to know that it not just helps people in their personal learning, but also the more difficult work aspirations. im glad my effort translates into a better learning experience ! i mean to be fair I barely upload and I'm restricting my niche to mostly Obsidian so most of my traffic just comes from SEO haha, i am starting to slowly broaden my niche with these AI videos though ! is there anything you'd be interested in me making a video on?
@@SimplicityForGood yeah i still use ai a good amount, i've been busy more with just working and my products so not as much time has been spent learning and reading :/
I am just starting my second brain journey and your videos are wildly more informative than others I’ve found. Incorporating AI is a requirement for me but, being so early in this process, I didn’t know how to do it and there are a ton of videos out there that assume a certain level a familiarity with Obsidian. Thank you kindly for sharing your experience and wisdom in a way that makes this approachable to those of us still living in Noobville.
aww, I'm glad to hear you find my content digestible, even for a beginner 😁 my older videos weren't the most beginner friendly, but i tried to start from the basics in this series so im happy its working :) ill keep in mind to keep my videos more accessible in this way, thank you for sharing and have fun building your second brain hehe
You're op, the videos you make are super super useful for my style of note taking; I was struggling to conceptualize how to incorporate ai into my research and studies. Thanks for the enlightening video, it gives me a ton of ideas to springboard off of for my own personal journey.
The free content is amazing and appreciated. There is alot of money in ai in the near future but i hope most of it just stays opensource instead of being commercialized
@@itsjohnmavrick Before I started using the Obsidian AI plugins I was doing everything manually. I really love Excalibrain for drilling into relationships.
I have dark mode enabled for Obsidian, but the ChatGPT box within stays in white mode. How do you change it to dark? I've tried putting my own ChatGPT profile in dark mode and reinserting the API, even reinstalling the plug-in but no luck. Thanks for your videos! much more helpful than other videos I've found so far.
I have been around the Obsidian space and the PKM space for a little bit and I was really interested in Fei Ling Sheng's Idea Compass framework. I could not find any source for this, could you share where I can read up about this? I really like the linkage ideas.
Automation tasks = No brain working = You just copy pasting information... It's like eating a premade pizza from supermarket VS making your own pizza .
Normal chatgpt runs on 3.5 / 4. AI plugins need to pay because it's still costs money to run generative AI, and ChatGPT are only doing it for free so they can grow their user base.

Just found your videos, John. Thank you for your hard work and generosity in sharing
no problem, glad you are incorporating it into your life :)
Wow, chatgpt can really enhance learning! can't wait for part 3
Thank you. I love confirmation that I'm on the right path. I must start using the compass.
ooo, how were you using ai previously? and yes, the compass just makes a never-ending journey of learning haha

i only saw as much as her blog post when searching up the concept, as well as vicky Zhao's mention on it in her zettelkasten video 😅

theyre called vtuber avatars - i paid for one and let it track my facial movements via webcam through vtube studio 🤩
You should check out the glasp chrome extension that generates an ai summary of UA-cam videos

Can't those AI plugin use Normal chat gpt not a paid version (most of them use 3.5 and gpt 4 version) ?

@@itsjohnmavrick so free plan it's not a choice, it just can't support those plugin ?
