I just did a stack of cards yesterday. I do both sides of my cards. On the back I have QR codes. One for the UA-cam and the other for my Rumble videos. I have designed a Spring Loaded Card holder in Fusion 360. Will be printing it off this week to see if it works.

Glue down a cross with some cut popsicle sticks or something so you have 4 corners to butt your cards up to or better yet, use the laser to cut recesses so they just slip in.

Thank you brother for the tutorial. I have a question and jts that, can it used to draw a pattern or design in a metal credit card?

great work, any link or description for the card would be a great help.

I use an ACMER P2 to cut aluminum oxide metal card. I think it's good! has more powerful 33Watt power, so it works faster

bought similar black shiny alu cards. Do I need to use engraving spray to protect laser from reflections of that card?

What machine would you recommend for business cards engraving?

Could this be done with a 12W diode laser?

Also, how did you determine the power? When I started with my A5 Pro, I ran various LightBurn tests to find a good setting. A year later I was seeing stuff about not running at high power to save the laser. I reran the tests and found I could get really good results at a fraction of the power too just by slowing it down a bit (tradeoff). But what I had not seen was there was good results at a much lower speed, then it would kind of blacken/char the metal cards, then it started going silver again. I ended up testing with a much lower power and was getting great results. In my 3rd year of using this thing and I still don't really understand it ;-) Everyone seems to have conflicting advice.

I ran multiple tests and determined the fastest speed with the best engraving and used that. Every color will be different though. Blue was harder for me to engrave the black or red. I have since bought a fiber laser and can’t tell you how much better it is for these types of jobs.

What cards did you buy? Can you put a link?

That is a metal patch, used to test the laser during proofing

This is technically marking, that laser doesn't have enough power to engrave aluminum and it's also not the right wavelength. The reason it works is because you are removing the finish

It's best to seal the cards when done, otherwise they scratch real easy.

      What sealer should be used?

You get a seal to lay down on the cards and the pressure locks it in place. You can use other animals but seals are very heavy and soft so they distribute weight evenly and dont dent or scratch the product.
They're also very trainable animals so just get a bucket of fish and you can seal all your cards quickly
